Chapter 25 - Visiting Dad Part 2
After leaving the capital Llyn yesterday, we headed back towards my old home.
As we got closer I began to feel off a bit but I couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong so I ignored it.
Hmm… something doesn’t quite feel right… but what could it be?
Roughly one hours after the sun rose, we reached the clearing that was near the house.
The old scenery brought back many memories even though I had only been gone for about 2 months.
“Wow Blaze, you did get faster. We’re already here. Before didn’t it take you two days to complete a month’s worth of travel?”
“Hmm, I noticed that too while I was flying.” [Blaze]
As Blaze begin descending, I could here all three of them mutter “.... Just how strong are you two.”
When he finally landed, everyone got off him and he transformed back to human form before we began walking towards the house and dad’s grave.
“Okay, we’re here at last. Can you guys go secure the area to make sure no monsters are roaming around?”
“As you command Princess, come let’s go guys. Oh, Alissa please stay by Princess Haliel’s side though.” [Laurel]
“Of course.” [Alissa]
With that decided, I began the picking the wildflowers that dad use to love before he passed away.
Once I collected a batch, I walked towards dad’s grave but what I saw when I got there made me realise what I felt was wrong with this place…
“The Ward Crystals were destroyed? And my Barrier too!?”
When I got closer to dad’s grave I saw that someone had broken through my barrier and dug him out.
“W-what happened here!? WHO THE FUCK DARED TO DEFILE DAD’S GRAVE!?”
Rage began filling me as I saw that my dad’s grave was dug up and the tombstone smashed to pieces.
I dropped the flowers I had been carrying and went over to inspect the grave and tried to look for traces of what could’ve gone this.
Hearing my scream, the three that had been on patrol came rushing towards my sound while Alissa stood there stunted by how I reacted..
“W-what happened!?” [Blaze]
“I-I don’t know. P-princess just shouted out of nowhere when she saw that.” [Alissa]
Alissa said so as she points in my direction and looking this way Blaze instantly knew why.

As me and Nym were patrolling the area, we heard Princess Haliel scream out something.
Without even looking at each other we both rushed towards the direction her voice came from.
By the the time we got there Blaze was already next to Princess Haliel who was on the ground crying.
I was confused as to what could have happened when Nym, who was following behind me asked the question I also wanted answered.
“What happened to Princess?” [Nym]
“Someone dug up her father’s grave… ” [Blaze]
“What!? Who in their right mind would dig up a grave!?” [Laurel]
“Well, that in itself is weird but that’s not my main concern right now. The reason being Haliel used a tier 8 spell customized barrier to protect the grave, and with her strength there should be close to none whois able to break through. This means that someone knew about it and dug him up after me and Haliel left to heal me.” [Blaze]
“W-what!” [All Three]
‘T-there’s someone out there strong enough to destroy Princess Haliel’s carrier!? They have to be at least as strong as Blaze to be able to do this, but who could’ve done it? She was living in isolation so who would’ve even know about this grave?’ [Laurel]
“I don’t care who they are but I’ll find them and I’ll rip them apart.”
Princess Haliel said so while markings started appearing on her body while a dark aura started being emitted from her, but this was only for a second as Blaze calmed her down.
“Haliel, calm down. Alissa, take her to that big tree over there and let her lay down her head. Laurel, you come with me to check what happened to the Ward Crystal and Nym, you stay with them.” [Blaze]
“Alright.” [All]
Following Blaze’s instructions I went with him while Nym and Alissa stayed with Princess Haliel.
After a couple minutes of running, we came to a stop and saw a pile of purple crystal sand.
“What is that Blaze? I thought Ward Crystals were near impossible to shatter like that.” [Laurel]
“I-I’m not sure myself. To think there is someone or something capable of demolishing the Ward Crystal into such a state. We need to see the other three!”
Saying so Blaze ran off in another direction and I followed suit.

After seeing her father’s grave dug up, Princess Haliel shouted out and everyone came running back.

While conversing, weird markings appeared on Princess Haliel she released a dark aura as she swore to the person who did this.
‘Hiii!! W-what was that!? S-she is evil like the Queen said!’ [Alissa]
Then shortly after Blaze told me and Nym to watch after Princess Haliel as he and Laurel went off to check something.
Soon I was left with Nym and a lifeless Princess when a thought came to me.
‘H-hey isn’t now the perfect time to kill her? I mean she should be off guard and concentrating her thoughts on killing the grave robbers right now. Here’s my chance to kill her! Now I’ll just get Nym out of the way. There was a river a bit away from here, he shouldn’t be able to see to what happens here if he’s there.’ [Alissa]
Thinking so I called out to Nym and asked him to go get some fresh water for Princess to drink.
“I’ll go, but be careful when I’m not here.” [Nym]
Once Nym was out of sight I pulled out the dagger that Queen Silvia gave me , HeartStriker.
Though doesn’t have the Queen’s mana at the moment, since it’s not red, with the Princess’s guard down it can still kill her.
Thinking so I brought the dagger up as I walked back to Princess, who was facing the ground.
As I swung down the dagger I felt my hands being stopped by something.
“So… it was you who planned this huh?”
“Ah! H-how did you…” [Alissa]
“Was that damned bastard Rinor also in on this!? Does he hate me that much!?”
“What! He would never do something like that! I’m just trying to kill you so that they’ll be freed from your mind control! The Queen was right about you!” [Alissa]
“Mind control? If I had that don’t you think I would’ve used it on you already? Only an idiot would leave one maid free if they have the power to mind control the Emperor. Well, whether or not he’s involved, I’ll ask you that later, first I’ll destroy that dagger. It feels dangerous, [Phantom Grasp: Shatter].”
The moment she finished the spell, HeartStriker began to crack then it shattered and caused an explosion.
“Ahh!!” [Alissa]
“I see, so you put mana into the dagger so that when it breaks, it’ll cause an explosion eh? Is it to ensure that no one will find the evidence after you kill me?”
‘I-I didn’t even know that HeartStriker could explode…’ [Alissa]
Hearing the explosion, Nym came rushing back and I’m sure Blaze and Laurel are too.
I struggled to escape as I was lifted into the air by an invisible force.
“W-what happened!” [Nym]
“I’ll explain when everyone gets here.”
She said so as she glared at me while Nym had a face filled with fear looking at the markings glow red on Princess.
Soon, everyone came back seeing me hang in the air.
“W-what is this? Why is Alissa in the air?” [Laurel]
“Haliel, what was that explosion earlier? A-and why are the markings back?” [Blaze]
“Huh? Markings? W-what when did- wait no, I’ll ask you that later. First off I’ll answer your question Laurel. She’s being held up there by [Phantom Grasp] because she tried to kill me.”
“WHAT!!” [All]
“Hmm, I you two seems to be a better actor than your partner here aren’t you Laurel and Nym! It’s pretty likely that that damned Rinor hired you three to kill me right? Did he also planned this, digging up my dad’s grave?”
“W-what? What are you talking about.” [Both]
“Are you sure Haliel?” [Blaze]
“It may be, it’s obvious that the Elves hate me and they planned this to get me alone. Why else would he demand us to take these three along?”
“You have a point there....” [Blaze]
“H-how dare you say that about Emperor Rinor you half-blood! You’re the one whose mind controlling him!” [Alissa]
“Alissa! What do you think you’re saying to Princess Haliel! Listen Princess, I’m not sure what happened here but I promise you I have no intention of killing you.” [Laurel]
“Y-yeah. I had no part in this Princess.” [Nym]
“Mind control!? That’s an Ancient spell, only a few people can even use it! I’ve been with Haliel all this time but I’ve never seen her use it. Although… the Queen might know about it.” [Blaze]
“That’s right. Didn’t you say she told you about it, so perhaps you were the one who’s being manipulated?”
“W-what!? N-no, she would never do that!” [Alissa]
“Oh really, then tell me why you think I would, because I'm a Half-Blood?”
“W-well…” [Alissa]
As I tried to talk back, she released a powerful pressure making Nym and Laurel fall to their knees and made me faint.
