Survived

Priscal and the others hurriedly rushed over the moment they spotted Lia's group fighting with a group of zombies that outnumbered them. She called out Lia's name as they got closer but got no response. They finally got close enough to properly see the group's situation, they were shocked to see the numbers of zombie corpses scattered around the place and the huge pit in the middle of the street but they did not have the time to be dazed at the moment because the people still needed help.

...…..

A clash played out and the zombies were easily being bashed and hacked to death by the strangers, giving Lia's group members and Priscal's group a chance to catch their breath.

"Where's Lia?" Priscal asked the moment she got close to one of the people in Lia's group and the man pointed in the direction where more zombies were coming from, with a terrified and exhausted look on his face.

Priscal pupils shrank to the size of a needle when she spotted the figures on the ground that were being blurred behind the curtain of rain.

Priscal wasted no time in dashing in the direction of the approaching zombies, the zombies naturally tried to get her when she got close to them but priscal dodged those that she could dodge and pushed away the others.

She was finally able to get past the wave of zombies and could finally clearly see Lia battling with a zombie on the ground, she did not even think twice about the zombies behind her because they were already being dealt with as well. She concluded that this group of men were very convenient.

"Lia!" She called out again as she arrived beside Lia and the zombie and waved her still at the side of its head.

BAM!!

The steel landed on the side of the zombie's head, breaking its skull and causing green blood to gush out. But the strike did not kill the zombie despite the horrible shape of its head after the attack. While the zombie did not feel the pain and did not die from Priscal's hit, the force of the attack luckily was enough to throw it off of Lia and send it rolling to the side after which Priscal quickly stabbed her steel into its heart area, destroying the virus box and ending the zombie's life; that was if it could still be regarded as a living thing.

Lia just laid there on the floor, breathing heavily as her chest rose and fell while the rain fell on her face, giving her a cooling sensation that she was not able to notice all the while that she had been struggling with the zombie. She turned to the side after a while of catching her breath and stared at the zombie with a complicated look on her face before turning to stare at Priscal who was supporting herself by placing her palms on her knees with her upper body bent forward.

'The zombie that I had been struggling with was easily killed by her? How laughable' Lia thought inwardly as a slight smile formed on the side of her lips. She knew that she was far stronger than Priscal since she was a dojo instructor while the other was just an office worker but the apocalypse had proven that even a janitor could save a soldier's life.

The both of them stayed like that for a few more seconds before Priscal straightened herself and moved closer to Lia.

"Hey, are you alright?" She asked with one of her hands extended towards Lia.

"Yeah, thanks" Lia responded without delay and grabbed Priscal's hand to pull herself up "just worn out" she added after standing up.

" You're welcome and yeah, I'm pretty exhausted as well. We all are" Priscal replied with a giggle as her mind wondered about the strange event today. Both their groups had encountered similar but also different situations that had almost had their groups getting wiped out if not for these men.

Although they had encountered just one zombie, that single zombie was no way less dangerous than this horde of zombies that Lia and her group had encountered.

The both of them suddenly looked at each other at the same time and could see the expressions in each other's eyes, they both had the same thoughts after thinking about their situations.

"Fablo!"

They both exclaimed at the same time and hurriedly went to meet the others so they could go find Fablo and Edward; but they were more worried about Fablo.

If those two encountered anything like the situations that their groups had encountered, it was not even a question of whether they would be able to flee or win the fight because surviving either of both situations with just two people, if not one since they did not trust Edward to be able to do anything, was impossible to imagine.

Looks like it's not time to rest yet.

....

Fablo and Edward stood opposite each other, both of them breathing heavily. They had spent enough time inside this building for their bodies to get dry but their faces were currently drenched with sweat after battling the abomination that was currently laying motionless between them.

But neither of them were currently paying any attention to the corpse on the ground, rather, they were both staring at each other with different expressions on their faces. Despite how exhausted and out of breath they both were, Edward had a look of wariness and vigilance on his face as he stared at Fablo with mistrustful eyes.

Fablo, on the other hand, was staring at the numerous scratches and injuries on Edward's body that were rapidly healing, as well as the green blood covering his ruined clothes. His eyes showed surprise and interested that could not be covered by his tiredness.

"So, this was what you have been hiding? You are one of them" Fablo mumbled loud enough for Edward to hear as a small smirk hooked up the side of his lips.

Edward did not say anything as his face turned into a deep frown and he moved a step back to distance himself further away from Fablo while his hand held tightly onto his blood soaked bat.

'Damnit! Why did he have to find out? What's he going to do now? Attack me? He probably won't let me off' Edward lamented in his thoughts while he thought of how to explain to Fablo that he was still normal but would he believe him? Who would believe he was normal after witnessing what happened earlier?

...

A while ago after Edward and Fablo reached the end of the largest room on the fifth floor.

Growl!!!

The growling sound that they had heard while at the door reached their ears again as they finally reached the end of the room and spotted the source of the sound they had heard. At the same time, two big round eyes with red-greenish eyes opened and stared at the two visitors.

"Growl?"

"What the…?!"

"Whaaat?!"

Both of them exclaimed with faces full of shock and disbelief as they stared at the owner of those big eyes.

'The hell is this??!!!!'

They both screamed in their minds as their mouths hung open.

In front of them was a huge cat with white fur but its white fur had almost changed color after getting bathed in green and red blood, and the small parts that were not stained by blood looked extremely dirty. Still, it was not difficult to tell that this was a white cat.

But what made the both of them shocked was that, not only was the cat huge, when compared to other cats of course, as it was currently almost the size of Edward. Its arms and legs were like those of humans as it sat on the floor with both hands in between its folded legs.

It still had paws with extremely sharp looking claws that had dried bloodstains on their tips and sharp long teeth protruding from both sides of its mouth.

Aside that, its tail that was supposed to look fluffy and adorable was currently hairless and skinny with green veins bulging from underneath the dead skin in a disgusting way. Despite this, the cat still possessed its original cat like eyes that were currently looking more pretty because of the two colors mixed within them. Seeing such a horrifying cat with those type of eyes did not settle well with Fablo or Edward as it screamed everything involved with wrongness and improper.

The appearance of the cat was just too different as well as hideous and frightening compared to normal cats, it was a zombie cat that was on the verge of mutating because its eyes were more greenish and only had a bit of redness left in them.

The face of the cat showed visible confusion as it tilted its head to the side as it stared back at the two strangers who were also staring at it with stunned and disbelieving looks on their faces.
