Expos6

The face of the cat showed visible confusion as it tilted its head to the side as it stared back at the two strangers who were also staring at it with stunned and disbelieving looks on their faces.

Once again, both Edward and Fablo felt their skins crawl when the mutated cat made such an expression but they did not have time to clear the disturbing image off of their minds as the cat suddenly lunged at them the next moment.

Its advance was just too sudden and fast that one would barely be able to react had the distance between them been too close, luckily, they were not that close to the monster which gave Fablo a chance to react.

"Move!"

He shouted and pushed Edward to the side while jumping after him the next moment.

Swoosh!!!

A blur flashed past his side as the figure of the cat blew past him the next moment and barely missing him by a few centimeters, had he been a second slower, Fablo could not imagine what would have happened to him.

Both of them hurriedly stood up as fast as they could and looked in the other direction only to see the monstrous cat hanging on the wall on the other side of the room with its claws sinking into the hard wall, its wriggling behind it like a snake

"Be careful. It's a zombie cat that has not fully mutated, don't let it scratch you" Fablo voiced out to Edward without looking at him. He did not dare take his eyes off of the zombie on the wall. The speed of the zombie cat was too fast, he did not dare look away for even a second.

'Thanks for saying what I already knew' Edward muttered in his mind but eud not say it out loud because he was also focusing on the creature on the wall as well.

Growl!!

The cat growled and jumped towards them once again with its claws wide open to get Fablo who was in front.

Fablo was not going to stand still and get eaten but he was not planning to move either since Edward was behind him. Gritting his teeth, Fablo swung his bat forward to meet the zombie cat that was in mid air.

Just before the bat could make contact with the cat, it suddenly turned its body in a way and landed on the surface of the bat like a nibble cat. This action was shocking to both Edward and Fablo as the cat literally had a human shape, the only thing weird were its cat head, tail, fur, and paws.

The cat stepped on the bat surface and was stabbed by the nails digging through the bat on all paws but the cat did not react to the injuries, reminding Fablo and Edward that this cat was also like every other zombie and did not feel pain.

Quickly coming back to his mind with death staring at him right in the eyes, Fablo realized that the weight of his bat had suddenly increased and he could barely keep a hold of it. Without thinking twice, he hurriedly let go of his grip on the bat and since he was still in a swinging motion before the cat stepped on it, he ended up launching both the bat and the bat in the other direction.

Bam!!

The cat slammed into a long chair, causing it to fall over.

"Shit! let's go!" Fablo cursed and turned around to run, facing that thing after he had lost his weapon was not something that he wished to experience. A single scratch from it and it would all be over.

But it appeared that they had thought too much of their luck.

Growl!

The sound of the cat sounded from behind them, causing the hairs on the back of their necks to stand erect as they felt a tingling sensation on their skins.

Edward had yet to fully turn so he was first to spot the cat the after barely turning to face it, even at that, his own bat was already swinging towards the cat because he could see that the monster was heading for Fablo.

BAM!!

His bat successful landed on the side of the zombie but because he was not standing properly, he was unable to deliver enough force to push it back. He was only able to make the cat somersault midair and face the other direction upon landing. Edward had yet to sigh in temporary relief when the cat showed that its skinny tail was not for show.

Swoosh! Bang!!

The tail made a sound akin to the wind being torn apart and slammed heavily into Fablo's side, Fablo had yet to turn around at this time so he was unable to protect himself.

His eyes bulged out from the stinging pain, he felt like a solid kick had been delivered to his ribcage and a rib had almost cracked. The next thing he knew was his feet leaving the ground and he was sent flying to the side, crashing into chairs before hitting the wall with his back.

"Cough!!"

Fablo found himself cough up something after hitting the wall and instantly knew that it was blood due to the strange taste in his mouth and the sour sensation he was feeling down his throat.

"Damnit!" Fablo cursed as he forced himself to get up while cleaning his lips with his sleeve, his vision was blurry after hitting the wall but was now clearing up and he could see properly again.

He spotted Edward fighting with the zombie cat…well, not exactly fighting since Edward was just hitting and moving around, not daring to stay in one place but he had managed to draw the cat away from where Fablo had landed while at the same time avoid himself from getting scratched.

Seeing this, Fablo decided to go get his weapon first before joining the fight.

Meanwhile, Edward was currently struggling with the zombie cat. His gnashing together as he was barely keeping up with the speed of the zombie, it was a miracle that he had not been scratched yet.

He had prevented the zombie from going after Fablo after it sent the huge man flying with just a swipe of its tail. That scene had frightened Edward so much that he almost froze in place upon seeing Fablo's hulky figure crashing into chairs and shattering them, what chance did he have to face such a thing.

But an image suddenly flashed through Edward's mind, an image of Fablo's corpse turning into a zombie and getting as strong as this zombie cat; he doubted that anyone would be able to fight against him by them.

'i definitely can't let him get infected, that would be a disaster for all of us and I'll be blamed too because I won't turn into a zombie even if I get bitten' Edward thought to himself as he bit down on his tongue and he instantly regain control of his body before engaging the zombie the next moment.

They continued the struggle of eating or not get eaten for a while longer and Edward could already feel himself losing pace of the zombie's movements but he did not panic because Fablo was already heading over to help.

BAM!

Edward once again waved his bat, hitting the zombie and pushing it back a bit while moving back at the same time.

Growl!

Once again jumped towards him the moment its legs touched the ground, Edward wanted to swing his bat once again but suddenly found his vision tilting upward; he was falling over because he just hit a chair while moving backwards and was unable to balance himself on time.

Bang!!

Edward landed on his back and lost grip of his bat at the same time, next thing he saw was the zombie cat in the air above him, he instantly crossed his arms in front of his face and chest as he cursed in his heart.

What came next was a word of pain that was not any less than what he had experienced when that huge zombie had caught him back then.

"Ahhh!!" Edward could not help but scream like a pig getting slaughtered as the cat clawed at him, ripping away pieces of his flesh. His clothes was soon turned into a bloody mess as the zombie kept on ravaging his body.

Fablo, who was previously rushing over to assist Edward froze in place at the sight in front of him and the painful screams of Edward.

His eyes trembled as he stared at the zombie tearing away at Edward's body, he could not understand what was going on despite it being so obvious.

He suddenly saw Edward grabbing hold of the zombie and hugging it tightly without getting up.

The zombie growled and began to bite off chucks of Edward's flesh.

"What are you waiting for? Kill it already!!"

Fablo heard Edward's voice, waking him up from the shock that had gripped him. Only now did Fablo finally noticed why Edward wasn't dead yet, for some reason, a smile formed on his lips when he noticed that the blood coming from Edward's wounds was green instead of red.

'This kid sure hid it well' he chuckled inwardly before moving to finish off the zombie that was still struggling to end Edward.
