Lia had her imaginary fingers crossed as she hoped that frame could hold these zombies too so she could take out as many as she could.
'Hehe, hoping for the frame to hold them back? What an absurd way to misuse hope, guess I could only hope to not get born in this hellish world in my next life' Lia scoffed inwardly as she arrived in front of the door. Remembering how many times she had been hopeful during these three years of hell, she could say that it was a miracle that she had been given the opportunity to hope again even when each time was a perilous situation. Yet, even at this point where she could already tell how it could end, she was still hoping to survive? Wasn't that a bit too greedy of her? Lucas must have hoped to survive as well even when his situation was not as disastrous as hers but still died in the end, what then gave her the courage to drag hope into this?
Lia cleared everything out of her mind as she prepared to face the first zombie that was headed for the door from the other side, she could see others running alongside this zombie but they would most likely run into the wall on the side or the blocked part of the door since all of them could not pass through it at once.
But she was gravely mistaken because the moment the first zombie rushed through the door and before Lia could attack the zombie with her sword.
Crash!! Boom!!
The other zombies that were headed for the blocked section of the door and the other side of the wall ram into them with their bodies.
In front of Lia's shocked eyes, the remains of the door and pieces of the wall were sent flying out in the rain as the wall and door were broken through by the zombies in an instant.
A piece of the door flew towards Lia and cut her on the side of her face, drawing a thin line of blood in the air.
This sudden change of event was so shocking for her that she even forgot to react and could only stare with wide eyes as the zombies rushed closer to her with their arms out to grab her.
'I doubt that I would still have a single bone left if they catch me' was the last thing Lia thought before she suddenly felt an arm wrap around her waist from behind she was suddenly raised into the air as the owner of the arm started running.
Only after this did Lia come back to her senses and realize that one of the men in her group was the one who had saved her from being shredded to bits by the zombies but his speed was not anywhere close to when they were escaping from the zombies he was carrying her, the zombies were getting closer.
"Put me down, I can run now," Lia said and the man did not hesitate before letting go of her waist as they both began to run.
Even though they had planned to kill these zombies in the rain, turning around to face such numbers of zombies took much more than just plans. One needed a very large amount of resolve and confidence which none of them had at the moment so they could only run.
As for where they were going? They had no idea. They just hoped they did not run into another group of zombies in front as it would spell doom for the group.

"Ahhh!!" A scream suddenly sounded in front as a woman tripped over a broken street light that was in a puddle of water, the person behind her was too close to dodge in time and ended up tripping over her and so did the next person.
Three people were suddenly on the floor at such a critical moment.
"Shit!!"
Lia cursed as her feet slid across the wet street and stopped close to them along with the others to help them up. Good thing they were not injured by the fall but the bad news was that the zombies were now upon them.
"Guess there's no point in running anymore" Lai sighed as she dismissed the woman who had fallen first as she was saying sorry. It was not actually her fault because Lia knew that she would not have seen that broken street light as well.
"Just try not to get surrounded by more than two zombies and don't stand in one place, provide assistance if you have the chance!" Lia shouted as rainwater dripped down her face and hair into her mouth, her eyes suddenly turning fierce as she lunged at the first zombie.
Cracckkkkkkk!!! Boom!!!
A deafening thunderclap sounded as a bolt of white lightning flashed down to the middle of the street and struck right in the middle of the zombies a huge blast followed, and half of the zombies were instantly blasted into the air as their skin turned pitch black while the one that received the full brute of the lightning were reduced to pieces of flesh and blood instantly.
A small pit suddenly appeared in the middle of the street after the blast and more than fifteen pitch-black zombies could be seen lying around the streets as they tried to move their bodies that had been smoked by thunder.
"What the…?!"
Lia and her group were left speechless at the sudden change of event but the remaining twenty-plus zombies did not allow them to be stunned for too long as they engaged with the remaining zombies in a ferocious melee.
What was the point of being amazed anyway? It was clear that nature was out to help the remaining humans and that lightning had landed right where they would have hoped for.
'Seems like it's not too bad to be hopeful in catastrophic situations after all' Lia thought as a smirk formed on her wet face without her realizing it. It was not that the numbers of the zombies were not disastrous anymore since they only had six people but at least it did not look like a sealed death case anymore.
Swish!!
Her sword flashed in the air as Lia aimed for a zombie's head but had to shift to the side to dodge a zombie that had lunged at her, causing her to hack the arm of the zombie instead.
She hurriedly pulled back after cutting off the zombie's arm instead of finishing it because staying there a second more would make more zombies get close to her and she would soon be surrounded if the one that she had dodged turned to face her from behind.
The others were also playing a game of tag with the zombies as they would run around after successfully landing a hit on a zombie.
More than a minute passed and the group had only been able to successfully kill five zombies Lia had killed three out of those five, their numbers were just too much for the group and they were already starting to breathe heavily since running around while fighting was too tiring.
'This can't go on or we will soon be get caught' Lia thought as she pushed the hair sticking to her face to the side while kicking a zombie in the head.
She suddenly spotted one of the women in her group getting surrounded by three zombies as she tackled one zombie. It wasn't that she was getting surrounded but she had instead run into their midst while trying to run away from the zombie that she was dealing with.
"Tch!" Lia clicked her tongue and ran towards her, cutting the head of a zombie and stomping on the back of one to throw it away and create a space for them.
"Let's go!" She called out to the woman who had successfully stabbed her steel into the chest of the zombie that she had been fighting and finally destroyed its virus box.
"Umh" the woman nodded and ran to a more open space while Lia followed behind her.
Growl!
The last zombie suddenly jumped at her from behind before she could move away, Lia had ignored this zombie before there was still a distance but the zombie had suddenly appeared behind her as she turned to run.
"Damnit!" Lia cursed as she turned around and placed her sword in front of her to welcome the zombie, the space between them was too short for her to make a full swing that would be effective so she could only do this.
Bang!!
The force from the zombie pushed Lia off her feet and she landed on her back with the zombie on top of her and her sword being the only thing that kept its disgusting face away as rain fell on them.
"Tks!" Lia hissed in pain from the fall as she struggled to keep her sword from being pushed down by the zombie as the monster tried to bring its head closer to her flesh.
'Isn't this how I found Fablo earlier?' Lia did not know why but the thought suddenly came to her mind, she suddenly wondered how Fablo was doing with Edward as his only teammate.
"Lia!!" A loud voice suddenly sounded from the other side of the street, the voice was a bit far away despite how loud it was.
