Run!

Meanwhile, in another building.

Bang! Bang!! Bang!!!

Banging sounds rang out constantly as a large number of zombies tried to break down a door that prevented them from leaving the place.

The room was an empty hall with a large mirror at the end of it, a lot of zombies in Snickers and loose pants could be seen crowded in front of the door as they slammed their bodies on the door in an attempt to break out of the room.

Outside the room, Lia could be spotted with her group pressing themselves on the door with gritted teeth as they bore the full brute force of the zombies while preventing the door from falling.

Their bodies were completely soaked due to the rain but they did not care about that at the moment as they all huddled together and used their bodies as a barricade to prevent the zombies from coming out.

"Fuck! Why are there so many here?!" One of the men in Lia's group cursed out in rage and terror.

They had picked a seven-story building close to the street they just cleared a while ago and they were instantly welcomed by a horde of almost twenty zombies the instance they entered the first floor, this had caused them to run out into the rain again to gain more space while ambushing the zombies as they tried to make their ways through the door to chase the group.

They were able to deal with the zombies due to them using the situation to their advantage since only two zombies could pass through the doors at a time and there were six of them in the group. Although the speed of some of the zombies prevented them from instantly dying after coming out through the door and the group ended up having to fight under the heavy rain, they were still able to deal with the almost twenty zombies with ease since Lia was easily slicing their heads off their necks.

They proceeded to enter the building and cleared everywhere on the first floor before climbing up to the second floor, the group had managed to kill a total of fifteen zombies on the first floor excluding the ones that they had lured out. Thankfully, the heavy rain covered the sounds of their fighting and prevented these ones from coming out to join the clash and it also made it easier for them to pick the zombies separately without another bunch interfering; nature was truly on their side.

On moving to the next floor, Lia and the group realized that this building was some sort of dance lesson infrastructure because of how the rooms looked and how the zombies were dressed even though most of them barely had complete wear.

The second floor had a total of six rooms that looked all similar, they had managed to clear five of those rooms because the number of zombies in each of the rooms was always less than ten for some reason and they would make the zombies come out to the passage while killing as many as they could before they moved out of the door before dealing with the ones that managed to come out.

It had been relatively easy until they got to the sixth door which was the last on this floor, Lia had not expected anything to be different with this one and simply opened it wide for the zombies to start rushing out but had closed it the next second before pressing her body on it. She was not the only one who had seen what was inside the room since the others were standing behind her, they immediately supported her by pressing their bodies on the door as it suddenly trembled from a sudden collision the next second.

Inside the sixth room were so many zombies that none of them were even able to count, they could only use their bodies to support the door for the time being while thinking of what to do which led to the present situation.

"Fuck! Why are there so many here?!" One of the men in Lia's group cursed out in rage and terror.

"What do we do, what do we do, what do we do?!!" A woman cried out, she was clearly freaking out as the door banged against her back.

"Shut up and let me think?!" Lia shouted at them as she gritted her teeth while working her brain to think of the next step.

It would be almost impossible for them to outrun so many zombies especially when she was not sure where to run to, fighting them was also not a choice since they were severely outnumbered.

'Fuck!!' Lia cursed inwardly as no idea was coming to her mind at the moment.

"Good God! Why did this have to happen? Please create a miracle, I don't want to die like this!" One of the men lamented at the thought of the many zombies inside this room tearing at his flesh; he, a full-grown man, was on the verge of tears. It could not be helped, on the other side were forty zombies if not more since they could not accurately guess their numbers but the number was definitely not lower than their estimate. How could they hope to deal with all of them? Surviving at this point already seems impossible.

"I said shut up and let me think!" Lia growled at him in annoyance while enduring the dull pain that she was starting to feel from the door hitting her shoulder.

Her eyes suddenly lit up as an idea came to her mind.

"Everyone, get ready to move once we let go of this door. All of you rush outside as fast as you can, anyone who stays behind will have themselves to blame if the zombies catch up to you. We will fight these zombies outside in the rain, that's our only chance of surviving this since I'm sure you all know that these zombies won't let us go easily" Lia suddenly voiced out to the others after a moment of quick thinking. She had considered other possibilities but this one was their best shot.

"But that will be dangerous, there are too many of them for us to handle by ourselves" someone argued.

Crash!!

Right after he spoke, the part of the door above them burst open and splinters of wood were sent flying as a disgusting zombie-looking hand passed through the small opening and started to trash around, probably looking for someone to grab.

Green blood splashed on their heads as the hand received cuts from forcing its hand through the small opening but the owner did not seem to care about this and continued to trash their hand around, causing more green blood to fall out.

"Do you have any better suggestions then? Speak up fast, we are running out of time here!" Lia turned to face the man who had said her idea was dangerous and voiced in a tone of urgency.

"Why don't we hide in one of the rooms that we already cleared? They will not be able to get to us there" he suggested.

Bang!! Bang!!!

The door shook like it was about to burst out, they all hurriedly repositioned themselves.

"And then what?! The very instance that we leave this door, it will collapse and they will all rush out like a wave and start chasing after us. Do you want them to trap us in whichever room we will enter forever? And that is even on the presumption that they don't break that door down as well because we can't hold it forever. And even if we are fast enough to enter a room and they miss us, what do you plan to do next with forty-plus zombies roaming this passage, huh? Do you want to come out and fight after they already blocked the way to the stairs and fight with your back to a dead end? Stupid!"

Lia ranted after they had managed to stop the door from collapsing for the time being.

The man was rendered speechless by Lia's reasoning and could not find a response to give as according to Lia's words, hiding in one of the already cleared rooms was certain death.

Crash!! Crash!!

Another two openings were made in the door on their sides as another two zombie hands passed through and began to grab onto Lia and another person close to her, they did not need another sign to know that they should move.

"Now, run!!" Lia shouted and instantly moved away from the door, the others also reacted and moved away from the door before dashing towards the stairs that led to the down floor with their fastest speed. Their eyes were showing terrified expressions as they ran like mad people, they were running as if their lives depended on it.

Well, it did depend on it since a moment slower would mean a one-way trip to the afterlife.

Boom!!

The door was blasted across the passage and slammed into the wall on the other side, causing it to shatter into pieces as the zombies flooded out of the room like a swarm of bees.
