Chapter 68 - One Against Many

Chapter 68 - One Against Many

“Heaven Dao: Against Man!” 7th Seat Dao Seeker formed a new hand seal and dark tribulation clouds formed above them. Thunder rumbled and purple lightning struck down from the sky.

Braun flew into the air as the eight arachnid limbs on his back were connected by a film of threads of destiny, creating a sort of wing-like construct. He flapped his ‘wings’ and left behind a trail of iridescent light behind him, manipulating destiny to his whim.

The purple lightning flashed towards him at breakneck speeds, but the light of the threads on his back shone brightly. The purple lightning uncontrollably switched directions, heading toward the sky instead.

“Heavenly Martial Arts: Redirecting Heaven’s Will!” 10th Seat Martial Emperor appeared in the sky as he swung his leg in a circular motion, dragging the chaotic purple lightning along with his feet.

Braun coldly harrumphed and he murmured softly, “You’ll fail.”

10th Seat Martial Emperor unexpectedly felt his legs cramp as bits of heavenly lightning stormed their way into his muscles, constricting his leg in the process. His move was on the verge of failure, and the moment it breaks, he’ll suffer a severe backlash.

“Hmph, that’s merely the destiny of a spider!” 4th Seat Myriad Beasts had transformed into a mountainous dragon with radiant scales. Flapping its wings, winds of destiny rushed forth as Braun’s ordained destiny was rewritten.

On the other hand, the 9th Seat Magical Girl slammed her staff to the ground as a giant pink magic circle formed behind the 10th Seat Martial Emperor’s back. His strength exploded to new heights as the purple lightning at the tips of his legs erupted with newfound strength.

The entity clad in colorful crystals flapped its wings once more as it streaked through the air, arriving right in front of the 10th Seat Martial Emperor who was just about to finish his spinning revolution.

Colorful threads gathered at the tips of his fingers as they became sharp claws. If he landed this attack, it would impale the 10th Seat Martial Emperor in the chest, killing him in a single blow!

“Earthly bindings!” 8th Seat Mother Nature snorted as grass, dirt, and wood coiled into the sky. The tendrils of nature latched onto his legs and wings, binding him in their immense worldly strength.

In the distance, the 6th Seat Overlord of Technology manned the giant mecha she was boarding in as her brain struggled to process the buttload of information she was currently dealing with. Countless openings formed on the giant humanoid mecha, launching into the air towards the distant ghostly army belonging to the 5th Seat Lord of Death.

“Much appreciated.” 6th Seat Lord of Death raised his hand as the countless vengeful spirits around him flew into the air, crashing into the falling metal cubes.

“Be reborn from death through technology—Awaken, Death Knights!”

The countless metallic cubes in the air rapidly morphed into their new form, becoming possessed humanoid robots with glowing red eyes. Pale red energy flowed through their robotic frames as they rapidly gathered together, transforming into one construct.

“Dyson Sphere System… Connected!” the cold, feminine voice of her AI announced just on time.

6th Seat Overlord of Technology hurriedly teleported her giant mech towards the giant metallic construct and grabbed it by the handle.

“Activating End Cannon… Recalibrating divine authority… Maximizing domains of end, death, annihilation… Complete!”

“End Cannon, ready!”

She hurriedly activated the cannon made out of countless death knights and a loud ‘woom’ sound echoed throughout the vast garden. Bright red energy shot out of the cannon’s opening, and it brought a sense of eternal passing wherever the red energy trailed.

As the purple lightning loomed above his head and the bright red beam pierced through the sky, intent on ending his life, the world seemingly came to a complete stop.

Braun’s body morphed and wriggled, transforming into a thin rainbow-colored line that slipped through the numerous coils binding his body. The thin line zipped into the air, expanding in size to a humanoid form once more, with the wing-like construct made out of colorful threads on his back transforming into a second pair of giant arms that grabbed onto the 10th Seat Martial Emperor.

Before anyone else could react, he stepped through the void, arrived in front of the bright red beam, and raised the gray-haired martial artist to block the attack for him.

As the beam traveled at light speeds, the 10th Seat Martial Emperor desperately tried to activate his divine authority to block the attack. Braun swatted away the god’s attempt at survival as he smashed his hand into the man’s back, gouging it through his chest, clutching a rhythmically beating heart.

With a single misstep, a god fell. If he hadn’t panicked and defended his back, not just his front, Braun’s attack would have failed, but reality has already been written, and the 10th Seat Martial Emperor entered the gates of death.

“Weak…” Braun stepped back and disappeared once more, leaving the man to be incinerated in the world-ending light of death.

Everyone appeared to be shocked by the sudden turn of events, their thoughts coming to a stop. While everyone else was still struggling to believe what they saw, Braun instead felt his mind turning all the more clear, as the once invisible veil was slowly losing its grip on his head.

Strange… Strange. It feels like I’ve been moving so dull before… It felt like I had never been using my abilities to their fullest potential. Braun crushed the beating heart in his hand and stared at the remaining divine beings around him. But it’s different now. I’m not restricted anymore. It’s like I’m finally granted complete freedom to act without limits.

The world continued to move at a pace akin to a snail’s movement, and he reappeared right above 9th Seat Magical Girl, the person who had been affected the most by the 10th Seat Martial Emperor’s sudden death.

She hurriedly tried to conjure a magical barrier the moment she noticed his presence, but the web of destiny that had transformed into a large pair of arms on his back released a brilliant glow, and cause and effect bent to a radical degree.

“9th Seat Magical Gir’s riled-up emotions caused her to react a nanosecond slower, allowing Freidrich Braun to land his attack on the goddess by a hair’s breadth. This attack was all that he needed to kill the magic-wielding youth.”

His emotionless monologue turned into reality as before her magical barrier could fully be formed, a thin, colorful thread slipped through a tiny hole in her barrier and pierced right through her head.

“Her soul would remain stuck in her body until this fight ends due to lingering regrets, allowing Braun to control her as a puppet without limits!”

Her eyes turned lifeless as the thread that poked through her head wormed itself into her brain, bonding with her soul. She waved her staff at breakneck speeds, conjuring a gargantuan pink magic circle above and below Braun.

“I lend you the power to fight against evil—Magical Girl Transformation!”

Braun’s grin widened as the magic circles above and below him slammed down in the middle, causing bright pink light to erupt from his body. When the light receded, a blurry figure rushed into the middle of the battlefield, arriving right in front of his next target—8th Seat Mother Nature.

His new appearance was revealed to the rest of the world, as a cute, petite white figure wielding a crystalline staff stepped through the void and tried to stab their staff into 8th Seat Mother Nature’s chest.

“Enough…” Adam’s cold voice rang as his black blade pierced through reality out of nowhere, stabbing into Braun’s chest without him even perceiving it for a moment. Not even his highly developed danger sense reacted to its abrupt appearance.

“Erase history, revert to the past. Revive and fight once more, Martial Emperor, Magical Girl.”

Braun stared at his chest with a dumbfounded look on his face. He stared at the area behind him, his eyes emitting a bright green glow.

10th Seat Martial Emperor’s scattered ashes gathered into one spot, reforming back into his body before it faced death.

9th Seat Magical Girl regained the light in her eyes as the power she lent to Braun returned to her divine core, imbuing her with magical powers once more.

Mother Nature, Dao Seeker, and the rest of the council members hurriedly launched their attacks toward the stagnant Braun whose chest remained pierced by a presenceless black blade.

A blade with no origin that affects the origins of the world, thereby affecting the present and future. Is this one of the main essences of his authority and domain, Origin?

I see… So this is origin.

Braun’s eyes glimmered with an enigmatic green light as he swiftly unraveled the secrets of the attack that dealt a severe blow to him. Even if Adam may have been a Level 8 True God, a being who had transcended the normal world entirely and became an embodiment of his authority, Braun’s incomparable prowess of comprehension easily saw through the unknown and discerned the truth.

“Although the past may have been erased, traces of it still lingers in the present. Unless you’ve completely erased the past, the tiniest bit of traces will forever remain!” Braun grabbed at the empty air as his threads flung out, hitting nothing.

He ignored the attacks coming his way entirely without even bathing an eye towards them. Instead, he placed his full focus on the threads flying forward as if he were trying to hit something completely invisible to the naked eye.

“DIE!” Braun shouted as the world around him shattered. The erased past came returning to the present, causing both Martial Emperor and Magical Girl who had been successfully revived to die once more, this time, their death was more permanent.

Damn it! Adam shouted in his mind as he skewered the sword deeper into Braun’s chest, but it was already too late.

The moment he understood something, he had already transcended it, turning it from the unknown to the known.

Moreover, with Mother Nature practically in front of him, it was just right to take this opportunity to deal another severe blow to Aegis’ manpower.

“Where my hug at?” Braun mumbled sadistically as the pair of arms on his back enlarged and grabbed the giantess Mother Nature forcefully. Pulling her into his hug without giving her any chance to resist, the sword poking out of his stabbed into her heart, killing her.

In total, less than ten seconds had elapsed since they began fighting seriously.
