Chapter 64 - Fighting Back

Chapter 64 - Fighting Back

Within a strange realm full of madness and chaos, a malevolent sphere of utter darkness appeared. Its gravitational pull sucked everything into it, including light, space, and even time.

Monsters gazed at the rapidly expanding black hole with fearful eyes, but no matter how much they resisted, they were doomed to fail.

Braun sat in the middle of the black hole, his void black figure constantly absorbing everything that was sucked inwards into him—the black hole’s singularity. He resisted the immense pressure of infinity and evolved at a rate so fast that far surpassed all of his previous progress.

Unlike the logical rule where progress would slow down the stronger one gets, his rate of progression instead becomes faster the stronger he gets!

This is the heaven-defying quality of zenith.

And now, he was exploiting this quality to its utmost.

He opened his eyes and the entirety of the unknown realm was covered by green flames. The innumerable monsters banished by 9th Seat Magical Girl helplessly watched as the green flames engulfed them wholly.

The power of zenith represented the domains of growth, evolution, and transcendence. It’s the metaphysical manifestation of what progress is. It’s the sole driving force of the multiverse’s infinite realities growth, pushing everything to greater heights.

It also meant that those who control this power are those with the potential to gain absolute control over all forms of growth. This included the progress of others.

Progress Devourer!

Braun’s eyes twinkled with endless starlight as everything the green flame touched was erased from the nameless realm. His aura grew all the more profound and his void black figure appeared to undergo another bout of qualitative change.

In total, less than a minute had elapsed since Braun was banished to the unknown realm by 9th Seat Magical Girl. While others waited in anticipation, 5th Seat Lord of Death asked the petite woman wearing a frilly pink and white dress, “What’s happening inside your imprisonment realm right now?”

“I…” She wore a worried look as if she was currently facing a sudden problem. “I don’t know. It’s as if my connection to it had just vanished!”

“This…!” 5th Seat Lord of Death felt alarmed by this fact and wanted to ask another question when all of a sudden, crystalline threads abruptly pierced through the void.

The others swiftly noticed the appearance of those threads and launched their attacks. This included 5th Seat Lord of Death and 9th Seat Magical Girl who had decided to push those questions for later.

“Your attacks will fail to land. Instead, due to the conflict between two divine beings outside the Kuiper Belt, they would unknowingly create a wormhole that would lead to our very solar system!”

“Moreover, your attacks would land into that very same wormhole, attracting their wrath!”

Like a heavenly decree that couldn’t be defied, a wormhole did form in front of the point in space where the crystalline threads poked out.

Beams of light, tendrils of vines, powerful elemental spells, and malicious sword intent shot into the wormhole as if they were pulled in uncontrollably. Then, in the next moment, two powerful auras could be felt coming from the wormhole as a warped voice akin to a monster’s growl echoed.

Although it was far from human speech, due to the transcendence of those with divine status, their very words could be interpreted no matter the language used.

The angry voices coming from the wormhole roughly translated to, “Who dared to interrupt our fight?!”

Just as the voice fell, two figures rushed out of the wormhole, each with the wild aura of Level 6 divinity!

One was a massive humanoid octopus-like creature with a body composed of space dust and starlight. Its singular eye was red and clearly showed the entity’s rage.

The other one was a fiery boulder a hundred meters wide. The bright orange flames surrounding its body caused the surrounding area to overheat and combust.

“Hmm?” The moment the two figures arrived, they noticed the presence of the seven Level 6 beings surrounding them, and their previous overflowing rage disappeared.

“H-Has there always been this many Stage 6 entities in this empty area? Wait… Why are there planets here? And also a star? There’s also a lot of life on that planet there!”

The two great existences were beyond baffled by the surreal scene they were currently witnessing. Just moments ago, they were fighting in an empty area somewhere in space, with no planets, no asteroid belts, no nothing—but out of nowhere, when they entered a wormhole that should have transported them to an area somewhere to the left by a few hundred thousand kilometers, they encountered a whole fucking solar system that housed seven Stage 6 entities and a planet with billions of life signatures!

“I think we should run…”

“Me too…”

“Run?” Braun grinned and stepped out of the void in his new, more otherworldly form.

Before the two Stage 6 entities, beings that could already be considered gods back on Earth, could react, Braun grabbed the two entities, each spanning tens to hundreds of meters tall, and wrapped them in crystalline threads.

The two cried out in pain as the threads drilled into their bodies. In the blink of an eye, they lost control over their bodies and became puppets under Braun’s control.

The fun doesn’t end here. Green flames surged within their bodies as Braun activated one of the very first abilities he had achieved with zenithral—Augmentation

Authority Augmentation!

Originally, the group of three, one eldritch abomination, one star tentacle monster, and one living meteor, had auras around the very peak of Level 6, but the moment the green flames erupted, their auras rose to another level.

Level 7!

Three Level 7 entities…

What the fuck?!?!?!

At this very moment, everything had truly gone haywire.

“What…? How…?”

It has to be noted that at the level of the divine, the difference between each level was far greater than ever before, even greater than the difference between a Level 3 mortal to a Level 4 demigod.

Aegis itself only had three Level 7 divine beings, namely the 3rd Seat Librarian of Akasha, the 2nd Seat Detached Buddhist, and the 1st Seat Origin of Man.

Every single of them wielded unrivaled prowess, and could slaughter all of the other council members beneath Level 7!

Now, although they might not fully be a match to true Level 7 existences, they were still facing what is essentially equivalent to Level 7 entities!

Braun didn’t wait for them to react and instead stirred the divine authority wielded by his two puppets.

Divine Authority—Wanderer of Stars!

The giant tentacle monster pointed one of its numerous tentacles forward and a spatial vortex formed at the tip of its tentacles. Stardust spun in an endless loop and, with a single thought, the vortex of space and stardust launched at drastic speeds.

Every single mote of light held a fraction of a star’s power, and the spatial vortex sucked everything into it. Anything that was sucked into the spatial vortex was shredded into dust by the stardust and the spatial interference, causing all of the present council members to distance themselves as if they were avoiding the plague.

Divine Authority—Herald of Destruction!

The colossal meteor spanning a hundred meters wide shot forward. Space around it warped and terrifying fissures formed. Everything in its path seemed to destabilize as the very concept of destruction descended onto reality.

10th Seat Martial Emperor, who was closest to the meteor, was about to successfully dodge out of the way when a voice suddenly announced, “Uh oh, it looks like the 10th Seat Martial Emperor didn’t notice the illusion he was in!”

Illusion? As if realizing something, a bright light flashed from his eyes, and reality around him shattered. It turns out that him moving out of the meteor’s way was just an illusion, and he had barely moved in reality!

“NO!” 6th Seat Overlord of Technology rushed towards 10th Seat Martial Emperor in an attempt to save him, but space around her shattered and a whirlpool of stardust appeared.

“And it looks like due to her panic-stricken mind, 6th Seat Overlord of Technology failed to notice the trap Wanderer of Stars had set in place!” Braun announced with a wickedly sadistic tone.

“Child’s play…” A cold, condescending voice rang out as the image of a grand library appeared in the void. With a wave of his arm, the 2nd Seat Librarian of Akasha, Crowley, deformed truth and overwrote reality with his divine authority.

The 10th Seat Martial Emperor did successfully dodged out of the way, and the 6th Seat Overlord of Technology did notice the trap and avoided it.

Three radiant figures walked out of the void, each carrying the presence of great existences.

3rd Seat Librarian of Akasha, Crowley.

2nd Seat Detached Buddhist, Zen.

1st Seat Origin of Man, Adam.

Opposing them was a lone man who had rapidly risen to prominence, an existence that defied logic and common sense, ascending to insurmountable heights at a pace so fast that would leave everyone speechless—Weaver of Destiny, Freidrich Braun.

His eyes flashed green and he mumbled with a crazed grin, “Let’s dance.”
