Chapter 62 - Illogical Developments

Chapter 62 - Illogical Developments

Impacts akin to the explosions of nuclear bombs engulfed the void of space. Nearby meteors and moons that were met with the aftereffects of the two transcendental beings’ clash crumbled and cracked. They barely held on in a vain attempt to survive, though their destruction remained imminent.

10th Seat Martial Emperor delivered destructive fists and heavenly kicks. Every single one of his attacks displayed the pinnacle of martial arts, with each strike capable of splitting the seas and crumbling mountains.

“Heaven Suppressing Palm!” He roared and slammed his fist down. A manifestation of a heavenly palm formed above a pale white figure, slamming downwards at breakneck speeds.

Braun harrumphed and opened his mouth. An otherworldly energy gathered in the pitch-black void within his vessel, transforming into a beam of green light that destroyed the heavenly palm.

10th Seat Martial Emperor stepped forward, and his fist emitted the wrath of countless dragons. A draconic roar was heard across space as he punched Braun in the stomach, causing void black sparks to form and crack open space.

“Dragon Fist 2nd Form: Dragon Binding!” The space around Braun constricted at the divine level which surpassed his transcendence, restricting him in place.

Unable to avoid or dodge, Braun could only stare as 10th Seat Martial Emperor pulled back both of his fists and shouted, “Ashura Palms: Four Arms of Infinity!”

An illusory pair of arms formed behind his back, each clad in a malevolent aura. His eyes glowed red and he delivered countless blows, with every strike aimed at the same spot.

Braun’s body flew across the void of space. A massive hole had formed on his chest, piercing through his beck, revealing the pitch darkness within his body. Cracks spread throughout his pale white skin, but they began to heal at a rapid pace under the effects of his rapid evolution.

His aura once again rose as it reached a whole new level.

10th Seat Martial Emperor slammed his foot on solid space, and he used another martial form.

“Kun Peng Travel!” he took a stance akin to a Kun Peng and he arrived right before Braun, his hands raised to the sky.

“Wrathful Earth: Claws of Destruction!” His hand enlarged to the size of a mountain, with the edge of each finger releasing destructive intent.

Braun remained calm as usual, but his eyes shone with newfound madness.

Bang!

His body seemed to turn illusory as the massive claw phased through his body like gas. Then, Braun swiftly dealt a deadly blow, with his hand piercing through 10th Seat Martial Emperor’s stomach.

I-Impossible… 10th Seat Martial Emperor stared down at the hand poking through his stomach, his thoughts a mess. Only those with divine authority could hope to deal this much damage to my body.

This means… He had already reached the realms of the divine?

More and more motes of light gathered around Braun’s pale white figure as his grin turned all the more twisted.

Grow, evolve, transcend.

Although things are increasingly chaotic and the deaths of his avatars are piling up rapidly, everything still remains within the boundaries of his plans.

From the very start, he knew there was simply no way he could ascend to Level 4 without setbacks, especially when he wanted to—no, he needed to acquire the power to manipulate destiny.

Because of this, he created his avatars. They would number in the hundreds and would be granted the power of zenith. They would rapidly grow in strength and each would have the chance to ascend to Level 4.

Even if only 10% of them succeed, that would still be a hundred by the minimum!

They would then cause chaos all throughout Dela, which would mask his true location, and he would then quietly ascend to Level 4.

As that happened, he would take this opportunity to evolve his vessel to an all-new height, using the massive surge of zenithral power from all of his avatars ascending to Level 4. Along with the pressure from Aegis and an opponent like Christopher, his plan had succeeded to a high degree, and his transcendental body had already broken into the realm of Level 6—the realm of the divine!

Wait… He glanced at the 10th Seat Martial Emperor and Christopher with a confused look. There’s something wrong… There’s something really wrong about this.

Why does this feeling feel so familiar? It’s like I’ve personally felt this way numerous times already, or at least had witnessed others feel that something was up plenty of times.

Why am I feeling this? What is causing this feeling to arise?

As his consciousness unknowingly grasped at the tail of a newfound mystery, the 10th Seat Martial Emperor was enraged to see that his enemy stood still without moving. It was a great insult to his spirit as a martial artist and as a proud council member of Aegis.

“Don’t ignore me, you bastard!” 10th Seat Martial Emperor growled and his aura surged. He grabbed at Braun’s arm which was impaled into his stomach and crushed it.

Braun was awoken from his stupor and looked at his missing forearm. “My bad.”

Just as Braun prepared to attack, a massive blue portal abruptly formed in the distance, where a humanoid hunk of metal stepped through. With just a glance, any human who had at least consumed some form of sci-fi media would recognize it as a mecha armor!

No fucking way… Braun widened his eyes.

“He’s already grown this much?” 6th Seat Overlord of Technology was genuinely surprised to see the bloody hole on the 10th Seat Martial Emperor’s stomach.

He pulled out the hand from his body and used his divine authority to heal himself, causing the bloody hole to quickly close.

“He had just barely stepped into the realm of the divine, but it has been less than ten minutes since we started fighting…” 10th Seat Martial Emperor reappeared right beside the newly arrived council member.

“That fast?!” 6th Seat Overlord of Technology gawked at the speed and intently observed the pale white humanoid figure known as Braun.

“Lucas Hum… Just what kind of existence are you?” She mumbled to herself, yet her words seemed to have stirred something within Braun’s mind.

“Did you just call me Lucas Hum?” Although he was asking her, Braun’s gaze was focused towards Christopher who sat cross-legged, his eyes closed and his brows furrowed.

“Hmm?” 6th Seat Overlord of Technology was intrigued by the question. “Do you have a preferred name?”

“I suppose yes,” Braun replied and appeared calm as ever on the outside, but his thoughts were far messier than before.

There’s no way that Christopher is this stupid. I already thought that they knew all about my true identity as Freidrich Braun along with all of the information they could possibly gather from me back when I was still a normal guy, but it seems like he didn’t even notify them about the truth of my identity.

This… This is just pure stupidity! The Christopher I know would have divulged this information the moment he knew Lucas Hum and Freidrich Braun were the same person. His intense desire to stop me for good and save the world from my ‘overbearing rule’ should have made him reveal the truth… but he didn’t?!

This is just illogical! This is an illogical development!

The moment he realized this, more and more problems began to pop up in his mind, problems that could only be considered as illogical yet logical at the same time.

However, before he could fully organize his thoughts into a cohesive and coherent idea, he was interrupted by the beam of light that came flying his way.

He swiftly moved to the side, avoiding the destructive beam of light as he stared at the woman wearing the mecha armor.

Damn it, I can’t think as well in this situation! His eyes glimmered with green light. I’ll deal with this mystery later.

His figure broke through space-time and arrived right in front of the 6th Seat Overlord of Technology in the blink of an eye. His hand transformed into a giant white claw, and his attack arrived in no time.

“Temporal Disturbance detected, temporal countermeasures activated!” Braun faintly heard a mechanical voice coming from within the suit as his transcendental attack was pulled back into the boundary of reality, pushing what should have been an attack that hit in zero time to an attack that hit at an incredibly fast speed.

This minute difference allowed the 6th Seat Overlord of Technology to counterattack, as a portal then formed on the surface of her suit, redirecting Braun’s attack towards his own body.

Too slow. Braun smirked as his thoughts accelerated to an extreme degree. Everything around him seemed to freeze in place as he swiftly moved his hand to the side to barely miss attacking his body, and manipulated his formless vessel to elongate his arm and let it hit the 6th Seat Overlord of Technology’s armor.

Boom!

With a body transcending the universe’s rules, 6th Seat Overlord of Technology was pushed back by the hand’s otherworldly nature, destroying a large chunk of her armor.

Even back then as a mortal, I could think at speeds far beyond the likes of the gods. Now, I’m already a divine existence… Wait a fucking minute.

He seemed to recall something as he remembered what he had just thought mere moments ago.

‘Damn it, I can’t think as well in this situation!’

‘I’ll deal with this mystery later.’

He paused in his tracks, his thoughts once again becoming a mess.

What do you mean I can’t think well in this situation?! I can literally think for days and only seconds would have passed.

There’s definitely something wrong here, something really wrong!

Although… Braun glanced at his transcendental vessel. The more I become an otherworldly presence, the more the influence seems to lessen. As long as I get stronger, this mystery should be unraveled on its own!

Yes, yes. Let’s continue to fight. Let’s continue to grow as strong as I possibly can!
