Chapter 63 - Level Six

Chapter 63 - Level Six

Streaks of otherworldly white light gashed through the void, piercing through many layers of metal, energy, and martial aura. Both 10th Seat Martial Emperor and 6th Seat Overlord of Technology gritted their teeth as they raised their defense, blocking the attack brought by the pale white figure warping in and out of reality in the distance.

Braun stepped through the void, ignoring the concept of distance, and appeared right beside 10th Seat Martial Emperor. His hands phased through space and pressed onto his chest. If his attack were to land, even 10th Seat Martial Emperor didn’t dare to believe that he would come out unscathed.

“Move!” 6th Seat Overlord of Technology gritted her teeth as clusters of nanite particles covered 10th Seat Martial Emperor’s body.

He was forcefully pulled back while a temporal negation aura surrounded his body which barely resisted Braun’s transcendental attack that ignored time.

Waving his hand across empty space, Braun twisted his body and another hand erupted out of his back with a hole in the middle of its palm. A resplendent green light emitted out of the hole and a devastating beam of light gushed out in an endless stream.

Crap! 6th Seat Overlord of Technology swiftly calculated countless formulas in her mind along with her assistant AI, and using the power of her technology, her body warped and a hole appeared in the middle of her chest, which the beam of light pierced through.

Although she successfully evaded the threatening attack, she was practically stuck in place with no way of evading Braun’s next attack.

“DIE!” An eldritch, incomprehensible shout resounded as Braun attempted to slam his hand into her body.

As his attack was about to land, an enigmatic voice echoed, “Suppression Dao!”

Braun felt his body weigh as heavy as a thousand mountains, and even his body that defied this world’s logic was unable to move a single inch.

“Banish Evil!” A melodious voice chanted and a massive pink magic circle appeared beneath Braun’s body. A portal to another dimension appeared above him, and in the blink of an eye, he was pushed into the portal, unable to resist.

“Blossom with life!” a gigantic woman with green skin and vine-like hair waved her hand causing countless petals and pollen to scatter amidst the void of space. Infused with a near-endless supply of life energy, the petals and pollen sprouted and transformed into massive plants, changing the few surrounding kilometers into a floral paradise.

“Heed my call, my underworld army!” A man cloaked in black cloth waved a massive scythe, tearing open a crack in space that led to the spiritual plane.

Hundreds of thousands of armored knights, each suffused with the power of the Lord of Death, walked out from the astral tear to form a massive army. They slammed their sword to their shields, shouting, “We answer your call, Lord of Death!”

“Heh, it looks like almost everyone is here.” 6th Seat Overlord of Technology silently felt relieved and also did her preparations. Massive constructs made out of metal and wires formed around her body, with a majority of them teleporting towards the sun.

“Solar Sphere System: Engage!” A mechanical voice resounded in her mind as a boundless source of energy powered her machinery. Her mechanized armor rapidly expanded in size, going from human-sized to becoming a giant hundreds of meters tall.

An old man with gray hair grinned as his body rapidly transformed. From a normal human being, he became a gigantic monster with a bear’s torso, a tiger’s arms, a rabbit’s legs, a dragon’s wings, and a hydra’s head.

From the 10th seat to the 4th seat, not a single one of the council members of Aegis dared to hold back their power.

Braun silently stared at the commotion outside the realm he was currently in and sighed. “They’re really gonna fuck me up the moment I step outside, huh?”

Clutching the neck of an eldritch horror, he munched on its nasty flesh.

Inside this unknown realm, plenty of horrific monstrosities resided, each being incarnations of evil. Plenty of them emitted the grand aura of a Level 5 Demigod, with strength capable of overturning multiple cities, but against the otherworldly entity that abruptly appeared, they instead retreated back with wary gazes.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

“Oh wait…” A grin crept up on Braun’s face as he felt a faint tug millions of kilometers away. “He’s actually done it… He reached Level 6.”

Braun, or to be more precise, another Braun, opened his eyes as radiant iridescent light flashed. Four pairs of arachnid appendages on his back unfurled, and faint rainbow-colored threads could be seen by the naked eye attached to the ends of his limbs.

As he was about to stand up, he heard a faint voice from behind, “So you’ve reached Level 6.”

Braun stopped in his tracks. He remained passive and showed no signs of panic. Instead, he calmly turned to look at the source of the voice and found a normal-looking man with dark skin, dark brown eyes, and curly black hair, wearing a white robe, standing amidst the rubble inside his sealed domain.

The two silently stared at each other for a few seconds as if they were acknowledging each other’s existence for the first time.

“Lucas Hum, it’s nice to meet you.” Braun flashed a grin.

“Adam, it’s nice to meet you too.” Adam also smiled.

Then, in the next moment, the two attacked without mercy.

Countless colorful threads were weaved together by the appendages on Braun’s back and transformed into a colorful web shining brightly with countless colors.

“Destiny manipulation…” Adam squinted his eyes as dark particles burst out of his hand. The dark particles transformed into giant spears, aimed straight at Braun’s heart.

“The fabled origin…” Braun murmured but he continued to weave his threads together. In the next moment, a wormhole abruptly formed above his and an artifact fell into his hand.

The artifact in question was a strange black orb the size of a tennis ball. It emitted a dark aura of chaos, yet it also carried the bright aura of order.

“A Level 6 Artifact?” Adam widened his eyes upon seeing the object that quite literally fell into Braun’s hands and wondered if he was hallucinating.

Although the 3rd Seat Librarian of Akasha can do something similar by creating copies of artifacts, transforming them from illusion into reality, the feat Braun had just achieved was just straight-up broken.

This was an entirely new artifact that came from an unknown source!

By manipulating destiny, I can in turn affect causality to a ridiculous extent. Of course, this is only possible due to the extreme calculations and precision required to do so, along with my limit-breaking authority!

Although I’ve only achieved Level 6, the level of my authority has already reached Level 7!

Grasping the orb, Braun grinned and mustered the latent power stored within it. Chaos and Order intertwined together, and using that power to assist his divine authority, he acquired a power that can only be considered as unfair.

Destiny meant one can control probability, causality, and the chances of anything occurring. So, manipulating destiny, a Level 6 artifact that originated from the death of some unknown god in the vast cosmos accidentally slipped through a wormhole and fell into his lap.

Now, with double the authority over chaos and order, Braun can attempt to achieve a heaven-defying feat—reality manipulation!

“Perish along with this world, Adam!” Braun shouted as a blazing ball of light formed in front of him, its heat reaching tens of thousands of degrees high.

Its center turned pure white, and the blazing sphere rapidly turned unstable.

“Let there be light!” Braun’s eyes were lit ablaze with a malevolent green light, and the newborn star collapsed, releasing a vast amount of power that overturned heaven and earth.

With the ability to manipulate reality, Braun forcefully created a supernova! If left alone, the entirety of Earth would be swallowed by the overwhelming heat and immense energy from a collapsing star, killing all of humanity in the blink of an eye.

Adam, bathed by the endless light of a collapsed star, calmly stretched out his hand and grabbed at the void. The corpse of one of Braun’s avatars appeared in his grasp, its dead eyes staring dully at the white sky.

In this world, everything has an origin. Every effect has its cause. Every end has its beginning.

Origins are also a sign of connection between different people and objects. Two different trees can be traced from the same apple that housed their two seeds. Siblings share the same mother, and so do animals sharing the same father.

“Share the same fate as your avatar, Lucas Hum.”

Adam exerted his divine influence and two bright stars in his mind were linked by a single thread. The dead avatar’s state was forcefully shared with Lucas Hum, causing him to be in the same condition as his avatar—dead.

Not only that, but the Lucas Hum that was affected was the Lucas Hum a second ago into the past, the one who was just about to create a collapsing star!

Reality abruptly changed as cause and effect switched. Lucas Hum, with a hand stretched out grasping at the budding blazing sphere, fell to the ground, his eyes losing nearly all signs of life.

Only a tiny bit of his vitality was left, and using that tiny smidgen of his life, he grinned and said, “It’s all up to you now, me!”

Progress Transfer!

Inside the metaphysical space inside his body, the green light in the center erupted with newfound intensity. The massive crystalline web was absorbed into the center of the green light, which then slowly winked out of existence as if it were trying to go somewhere else.

Adam hurriedly tried to prevent what was happening, but against the transcendental nature of zenith, he was helpless to do so.

Braun, who was currently presiding in the unknown realm that held countless evil, widened his eyes as his body underwent another round of rapid evolution.

Four pairs of spider-like limbs sprouted from his back and his entire body turned pitch-black. A new pair of colorful eyes formed on his face and radiant lines started to form all across his skin like spider webs.

Grabbing at his face, a crazed smile formed on his face as he murmured, “It’s showtime.”
