Kill… him. Braun’s eyes turned a shade of dark green as he felt his entire body bubble with killing intent when he glanced at Christopher’s sleeping body. He felt a strange power course through his every vein, flooding his muscles and bones with newfound strength.
He didn’t know if he was just hallucinating things, but he felt as if his stomach was draining all the nutrients it could get from the food stored inside it as his body’s hormones turned erratic and went past the limits of what a normal human should have. His emotions shifted at a rapid state with his balance, senses, and mind turning warped and dizzying.
Braun subconsciously walked forward, fists clenched and forearms covered in popping veins. His dizzying mind slowly returned to normal the closer he got as his vision turned clearer.
Just as he was five meters away from Christopher though, a loud bang echoed across the forest and he saw a bullet land just right in front of his right feet. He stopped in his tracks and moved his gaze to the side where he saw Albert, dirty and messy, pointing a gun at him.
“Young master Freidrich…,” Albert called out softly. “Care to explain what you’re doing right now? And why is young master Christopher-“
Braun squinted his eyes as he felt the synapses in his brain fire off at breakneck speeds. He felt his senses heighten beyond the human limits and everything seemingly slowed down. He didn’t think, he didn’t hesitate—it was do or die. Either he kills Christopher no matter the cause or die trying.
Before Albert could even finish speaking, Braun already broke off into a rapid sprint towards the gun-wielding Albert.
Surprised by the teenager’s sudden actions and the overwhelming bloodthirst leaking out of his bloodshot stare, Albert swallowed his questions and changed into a ‘Shoot first, questions later’ mindset.
As he was about to shoot a bullet, Braun rapidly grabbed scattered stones on the ground with deft movements before throwing them forward with incredible power.
Albert aimed his gun at Braun when a hail of stones collided right against his arms and hands, accurately hitting his fingers which caused the gun to fly off away from his hand and into the air.
Braun squinted his eyes and kicked a stone from the ground. The stone flew straight at the flying gun, hitting it far away into the messy forest, and disappearing into the shadows of the night.
What?! Albert widened his eyes from Braun’s shocking display of skills but kept his cool. Right now, he needs to stop treating Braun as the same young boy he knew before and instead think of him as an enemy who wants to kill him and his young master. If not, he might just die.
Kill him… Kill him so that I can kill Christopher! Braun thought with a manic gaze and rapidly ascended the uphill slope, arriving right in front of Albert who already took on a fighting stance.
He swung his fist forward recklessly, which Albert easily blocked and grabbed with a tight grip. Then, showcasing the ruthlessness of a professionally trained bodyguard, the huge man tried to snap Braun’s arms like a twig but was swiftly intercepted by a stick coming straight for his head.
As he moved back to avoid the incoming stick, his grip on Braun’s arm loosened which soon proved to be a fatal mistake as Braun stomped one of his feet on the ground and kicked forward with the other straight at Albert’s crotch.
Hmph, rookie mistake! Albert intentionally stepped forward and watched as Braun’s leg collided with the metal plate surrounding his crotch.
A sharp burst of pain met Braun’s mind, but the pain immediately faded away and the numbness of his right foot disappeared. Grinning widely, Braun pushed his leg fully forward, tipping Albert’s balance who didn’t expect the young teen to still be able to exert such strength from what is effectively a broken foot.
Albert slowly fell to the ground and Braun’s actions only got faster after that. Grabbing one of the numerous pens he kept in his pocket just in case he needed to stab something, he lunged forward at the incredibly tall guard and tried to stab it right at the man’s neck.
This proved to be wrong though as Albert displayed incredible bodily coordination and rather than fall to his back, he flipped backward and regained his footing in one swift move.
As he flipped, his leg kicked Braun on the chin who was unable to dodge in midair, and launched him into the air before crashing against the ground.
Braun opened his eyes and saw a foot already coming straight for his head and quickly dodged with his newfound cat-like reflexes.
Rolling to the side, he grabbed stones and kicked himself up into a standing position.
Albert displayed adept combat skills as he rushed toward Braun, but he didn’t expect more rocks to come flying his way from nowhere.
Albert squinted his eyes and blocked the hail of stones using his coat.
As the middle-aged butler took in a deep breath and stared cautiously at the young teenage boy, Braun’s smile deepened as the untold power coursing through every fiber of his being was rapidly changing both his body and mind. He could feel himself getting stronger, smarter, quicker at thinking—he was evolving at a rate he could have only dreamed of achieving back then.
His eyes glanced over the entire area, trying to find things he could use to overpower the ridiculously strong bodyguard who was over 100 kilograms and stood at a ridiculous height of 6’5.
Stones, sticks, stones, sticks… Sticks! Braun immediately stomped his foot to the ground, causing a twig to snap in half and flick into the sky. In less than a split second, he kicked the two splintered sticks and shot them forward with impeccable accuracy.
Albert raised his arms covered by his durable jacket to block the incoming stocks, but still kept his eye on Braun who rapidly closed in on him like a mad hound.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
As Braun ran, he unfastened the belt on his pants and swung it around like you would a weapon.
Since when did he know how to do that? Albert thought with an alarmed look.
Fucking hell… Is this what it feels to be a prodigy in a flow state? Braun’s grin deepened as he finally understood why some people just wanted to feel the thrill of a fight. The adrenaline, the flow, the feeling of having to fight for your life… it just made him feel so alive.
Albert hurriedly rushed forward with crossed arms to lessen Braun’s weapon advantage of having a longer range and was prepared to deal a few punches here and there, when all of a sudden, Braun opened his mouth wide and saliva squirted out like a stream of water.
The tall bodyguard closed his eyes reflexively and felt a slight bit of pain in his eyes. He unconsciously lowered his guard for less than a second, a timeframe long enough for Bran to exploit.
Braun unhesitatingly slammed the metallic end of his belt against the bodyguard’s face, aiming right at their right eye. As he did so, his left leg swooped in and tipped the large man’s balance once more.
Ambidextirity! Braun thought with glee and hurriedly swooped in for the skill by kicking a stick from the ground towards his free left arm, grabbing it as Albert was falling to the ground, and jabbing it right into the man’s neck.
SPLAT!
The stick was forcefully stabbed into Albert’s neck and jammed deep into him. Albert fell to the ground with a loud thud and he hurriedly grabbed his neck to try and pull the stick out, but Braun was far more ruthless than what the bodyguard could have expected.
He raised his right leg into the sky, and with an emotionless gaze, swung it down straight at the stick stabbing into Albert’s neck.
BAM!
The stick dug deeper, piercing through the man’s neck and out of his nape. His struggling arms froze and lost power, with the light in his eyes slowly disappearing as his life force bled out of his throat.
Hooo… Fuck… Braun gazed down at his bloody foot covered in the blood of Albert, a person he considered an uncle, a person whom he had been on close terms with for how many years.
He gazed strangely at his hands—they were calm, steady, unshaken—he couldn’t help but notice his strange lack of remorse, of sadness, of sorrow, of uncertainty, of regret. He was calm to the point it was unusual….
Alongside that calmness was a feeling he would have never expected to appear. Joy.
It was the same feeling as acing a quiz or getting the highest grades in class. If he had to give an analogy, he would think the feeling he was having was similar to doing a successful hunt where he finally killed a fierce beast after an intense fight.
Although now that things were over, he couldn’t help but feel… tired. He was exhausted and immensely hungry. His stomach growled and Braun felt his body fall down to the ground without warning.
All of the strain and stress he had put his body through finally caught up to him, causing him to lose nearly all control over his movement.
Braun gazed down at his body and instinctively knew why he was feeling this way. It didn’t take a genius to understand why, honestly.
He was more than smart enough to understand that the rapid changes his body had undergone, from his beyond-human senses, reflexes, thinking speed, increased bodily strength, and such, needed energy—and his unusually skinny forearms gave him more than enough information as to where that energy came from.
Braun wore a grim look as he stared at the nearby corpse of Albert and felt his stomach growl louder. Yet, he held back the lunatic urge that slowly came to overwhelm him with one logical thought in mind, Eating him would practically be killing myself. The human body is just not built for eating other-
If he ate Albert, then it would simply be the same thing as shooting himself in the foot. It was fine if it was some foreign animal like a lion or a bear, but a human was just a big no-no… according to normal human logic that is.
Wait… Am I even human anymore?
As soon as this strange idea popped into his mind, something inside his mind clicked and his hunger intensified. Something indescribable began to happen throughout his digestive tract, from the saliva produced inside his mouth to the sharpness and sturdiness of his teeth, down to his stomach, his intestines, his livers, etc.
His body, already skin and bones, turned increasingly thinner as his body sacrificed the last bits of his muscles to fuel the change happening inside him. As the change continued, the hunger inside his mind gnawed relentlessly at his mind, changing his thoughts, and forcing him to have to make a desperate choice that would forever break his humanity if he so followed.
Eat… Him. Eat him.
At this moment, Braun’s morals went away with the wind. It was either him dying from hunger, or taking the risks of cannibalism and betting on the fact that he—his newfound supernatural abilities—could circumvent the downsides of eating another human.
Not once did he consider just how wrong this was and only hesitated because he didn’t want to die from eating another human.
With that fear practically thrown away into the dumpster, he dragged himself forward with his arms until he was on top of Albert. Tearing away his clothes and exposing his bare body, Braun licked his lips and grabbed tightly at Albert’s muscular legs, with saliva dripping down his mouth.
Every thought in his mind was stripped away. The only thing he needed to do was eat, and eat he shall do.
Nom nom. Chomp chomp.
The sound of tearing flesh, splattering blood, and audible chomps resounded in the deafeningly silent forest.
Nom nom. Chomp chomp.
Critters and curious animals gazed from far away at the bloody sight of one human eating another in lavish delight.
Nom nom. Chomp chomp.
Even from a distance, they could feel the overwhelming bloodthirsty aura emanating from the thin figure devouring the massive man. With each bite he took, the darker his pupils became as if signifying his faster descent into madness.
Nom nom. Chomp chomp.
Chewy… Tsk, his low body fat percentage proves to be a bit of a letdown, but I can’t be a picky eater. I should expect at least 100,000 calories from him though if I eat him… fully.
At first, Braun only ate the flesh of the man before him, stripping any possible meat from the bones and slurping the blood like fresh water. Then, along the way, he enjoyed each organ, from the stomach to the heart, to the eyes and the brain.
But, as he was chewing on Albert’s hands, he accidentally bit right into his fingers including his bone. He thought he wouldn’t be able to eat the bones, but he felt his mouth tingle and a few moments later, the hands were devoured fully, from the skin to the flesh, to the bones, and to the nerves.
In the end, as Braun ate each and every part of Albert fully, he released a satisfied burp and looked into the sky with his whole body covered in blood.
It was unexpectedly taste… Hahaha…
He raised his arm with a dazed look and saw the popping veins and defined muscles of his body. Even though he just ate a meal that could have fed over 60 people theoretically, not a single gram of fat formed on his body.
Instead, as he looked down at his incredibly muscular body that held a terrifying level of strength, Braun grinned and slowly stood up from the pool of blood beneath him.
“So… I really am a monster,” he murmured blandly and silently gazed at the crater where… where a pair of bright white eyes stared at him with intense, unending anger and hatred.
“Oh… It seems I’m too late-“
Before he could even finish speaking, Christopher, whose eyes glowed intensely like the sun, raised his arm into the sky and chunks of dirt floated to gather above him. Then, the boulder launched itself forward like magic, right toward Braun.
Fuck… Can I gaslight my way out of this one? Braun thought as he watched the huge rock fly his way at, in his view, manageable speeds.
Wait… that thing he said about the meteor calling out to me… and the way the green flame called out to me back then too. He squinted his eyes as his pupils turned a bright shade of green. There must be a reason why we’re like this, a reason I cannot avoid.
It’s either he dies or I die. Whether I want to or not, we’ve already been trapped in a situation out of our control!
“Let’s go at this, you perfect bastard chosen by fate!”
