In the blink of an eye, a month had already passed since Braun began to spread his avatars all across the country of Dela.
A lot of changes happened due to his sudden disappearance. Namely, Lucas Hum officially died due to a mysterious supernatural phenomenon of unknown nature.
His teammates grieved his death and many felt saddened by his abrupt passing. Due to his sudden death though, Aegis found an excuse to tighten up security in Nuwesca City to cover up their true motives.
Because of that, Braun had lost his original base of operations, which was fine as he did not dare step out of his pocket dimension. Instead, he relied on his avatars to monitor the changes of the outside world and spread the plague of destiny throughout the nation, condensing its intensity so that he would be able to better mask the presence of his movements.
It’s surprising that they haven’t launched a full-blown hunt on my avatars. Instead, they just make sure none of them escapes outside Dela as they had even sealed the space surrounding the country.
Braun rubbed his chin, with his appearance having undergone radical changes in the past month.
Four pairs of spider-like limbs protruded from his back, where countless illusory green threads continuously formed, controlling the innumerable number of spiders skittering around him.
His hair had grown wildly due to the lack of trimming, and his skin had turned ceramic white, lacking the softness of human flesh. His eyes glimmered with an obsidian-like texture, and his vision was splintered off into numerous scenes, with each scene belonging to the sight of one of his many different avatars.
With the help of his avatars, Braun had amassed a whole array of low-level powers, which he would then absorb and fragment, gifting them to his avatars so that they would nurture them for him, allowing the original body to continuously grow stronger.
At this point, he already had a handful of powerful peak Level 3 abilities, and more would come as he remained cooped up in his pocket dimension. If this continued, he would be able to reach Level 4 in no time, but Braun was quite picky and he had some apprehension about the realms beyond Level 3.
Due to the clear example known as the library dude from before, Braun bore witness to the mysteries of the higher levels of superpowers, and although he himself didn’t know much, he still felt that he shouldn’t rush his ascension to Level 4 and instead slowly acquire the power he desired the most.
Even if my future is limitless, I still don’t know enough about the stages of godhood. At low levels, there’s already conflict between two differing abilities, much less powers belonging to divinity. If I rushed my development and acquired a subpar power that would remain my sole superpower, then it would truly be a disaster.
Braun didn’t dare play with fire and planned his future carefully. The only missing pieces were the corresponding factors needed to create that future.
However, there’s no restriction when it comes to the level of my avatars. His eyes glimmered, albeit with slight apprehension. The only frustrating thing is that I’m a sly bastard. If I’m not careful, I would get betrayed by myself who had reached Level 4 and also has access to zenithral power.
The only saving grace here is that their progress in zenithral power would also be attributed to me, so I would still have an edge over it compared to them.
In case things go south and I really do have to fight Demigod-level avatars of myself, I’ll just rely on dominating them with zenithral power.
…
While Braun was inwardly cussing himself, Christopher was busy wrapping up his business on the surface of the ocean.
Things may appear normal and calm for the rest of humanity living on land, with very few monsters rushing out to attack human settlements, but on the ocean? Things were vastly different.
Aquatic life thrived on the sea, with their numbers reaching billions upon billions. In such an environment, the existence of crystals rapidly increases, giving rise to the birth of aquatic monsters.
While most of them may be low-level, they’re still monsters.
That was the case before the meteor shower happened. After that, many of the meteors landed on the sea, resulting in a drastic change to the aquatic ecosystem of the world.
The meteors catalyzed the start of rapid evolution among the creatures living in the ocean; higher-level creatures appeared en masse, causing more lower-level creatures to appear to survive the onslaught of their tyrannical strength.
This was a result of the rest of the environment adapting to the birth of demigods in the sea. If they remained weak, they would perish and die.
Due to this, the concentration of monsters began to grow as they evolved and adapted to the massive shifts in dynamics, leaving them a chance to survive and perhaps even thrive.
If Braun was here right now, the mystery of the sudden surge of monsters would be as clear as day for him, for this was a manifestation of Zenith.

Zenith favored places where its domains thrived, and the sea was one such place. With the existence of demigod-level monsters, and the desire to survive for the powerless fishes, the influence of zenith began to accumulate, resulting in the creation of countless crystals which gave rise to the birth of monsters.
Christopher was currently dealing with a demigod-level sea monster, having been tasked by Aegis to capture it alive.
This sea monster in question was a shark that had come into contact with one of the bigger meteors that rained down from the sky, evolving itself to the realms of godhood. It was humongous in size, spanning tens of meters in length and tens of meters in height, surpassing even the legendary Megalodon in size.
As it swam across the sea at breakneck speeds, the water on the sea surface began to swirl, spinning around to form a vortex, which then abruptly spikes into the air towards Christopher.
He hurriedly erected a barrier of space, blocking the spinning vortex of water from hitting him. Successfully blocking the attack, he waved his other hand and reversed the gravity on the sea, intending to lift up the massive shark into the air to reduce its speed and limit its movement space.
It snorted in reaction to his attempt and swam even faster, escaping the field of gravity in less than a second, while water sharks burst out of the sea surface, each as massive as the original shark.
The water sharks opened their sharp jaws and bit down on Christopher from all directions.
Christopher stepped back and his figure disappeared, teleporting out of the way of its attacks, before he then quickly sent out another attack.
Spatial lock! He shouted in his mind and a cube of space abruptly appeared around the massive shark, trapping it in a translucent cage.
It growled upon seeing that it was trapped and rammed its body against the barrier of space surrounding its body. A large crack formed on the barrier wall, but with a wave of his arms, the crack sealed itself, returning the cage to optimal condition.
Christopher had already dealt with a lot of monsters during the past month as more tasks were piled onto him by Aegis to sharpen his experience, and dealing with a dumb monster like the shark that was currently fighting him was quite easy.
Now that it was trapped inside a box and was temporarily stopped from dodging, he could finally deal the finishing blow.
He pressed his hand forward and a massive cylinder appeared behind him, with it almost being as large as the shark itself. The tip of the cylinder began to warp, transforming into a sharp spike—pointy and deadly.
It then began to spin as a tiny hole opened up in the cage, undetected by the panicking shark.
Grinning confidently, the spinning cone-shaped solidified space behind him shot forward at blazing speeds, traversing over a hundred meters in less than a second. It passed through the cage of space and stabbed into the body of the shark, hitting it right on its stomach.
Christopher mercilessly tightened the space around the shark just as it wriggled around in pain, wrapping its body in a cocoon of bent gravity. Unable to move or escape, the shark was successfully apprehended, and his mission was considered done.
Sighing in relief, Christopher stared at the unconscious shark floating beside him and patted it on the belly, mumbling to himself with an incredulous tone, “In just three months, I’m already out here fighting massive sharks capable of controlling water.”
“Life is just so absurd sometimes.”
He tore open a hole in space and stepped through it, and in the next moment, he arrived right inside one of Aegis’ monster handling facilities.
With a casual glance, he saw gigantic cages lined up across a vast room that spanned hundreds of meters in length and width. Only with such size could they accommodate so many demigod-level monsters that had been on the rise in the wild.
Christopher even saw some of the monsters he personally captured before, like a giant bird clad in dark smoke or a fish flying in the air, surrounded by emerald green winds.
A manager leading a small group quickly noticed his presence, stared at the unconscious monster beside Christopher with an awe-inspired look, and said with a big wide grin, “Great work as always, Divus!”
Christopher smiled and humbly said, “It’s nothing much. You guys are the ones doing most of the work here, with all the monsters you have to take care of and such.”
“Well, that’s what we normal dudes can contribute to Aegis,” the man proudly said. “So we’re sure as hell gonna have to get good at it for the sake of humanity!”
“I’ll just leave this guy here. I’m quite short on time right now and still have a meeting to attend after visiting my parents.” Christopher pointed at the ground beside him as he let the giant shark fall to the ground gently.
“No problem.” The man nodded his head and chuckled. “We’ll take care of everything on this side, so you don’t have to worry about anything.”
“Thanks.” Christopher breathed a sigh of relief and swiftly went his way.
Teleporting to another distant place, Christopher found himself in the sky of a strange floating island.
Well, calling it an island was an understatement. It was more like a small kingdom already due to its sheer size and scale, with vast verdant greenery and modern houses placed neatly along simple roads.
There were various facilities like hospitals, schools, gyms, etc., making it appear like a highly modern city that has a lot of floral life, making it appear like a breath of fresh air compared to the cities of Earth that are highly focused on building towering buildings and laying cement everywhere.
A voice rang in his ear as soon as he entered, with a hologram appearing out of nowhere to greet him.
“Welcome to the Garden of Eden, Christopher Divus.”
Christopher calmly nodded his head and flew through the air, arriving in front of a normal-looking house that wasn’t too big, but was far from small either.
Taking a deep breath to calm his bearings, he grinned, slowly walked up to the house's entrance, and prepared to knock.
As a member of Aegis and a valuable Demigod, the organization would obviously give him preferential compared to the rest of the organization’s normal members, and this place was one of the many benefits he received.
Christopher, just like many other Demigods, had loved ones that they cared for, and those loved ones could be exploited by evil thugs who wanted to threaten those demigods with their family members.
Family members in general are a sore weakness for many of Aegis’ demigods, as they can be exploited through various means like ritual-based powers or abilities affecting people of the same bloodline.
Because of this, they need a place where they can safely take care of those family members away from the world full of danger, and in a way, also gain a second leash on its Demigods besides the initial leash called Heavenly Promise.
This place was exactly that.
This place is known as the Garden of Eden, a place closest to one what would imagine heaven to be. Here, food is free, education is free, diseases are non-existent, and old age is a thing of the past.
Inside this place, family members and loved ones of Aegis demigods can live freely, away from the horrors of rogue supers.
Knock knock knock!
Knocking three times on the door, Christopher waited for a second and heard a woman’s voice shouting from behind the door.
“Coming!”
