Hey, all sorry for the wait been busy at work the last while. So the last few chapters have brought about some interesting developments. With Lanthim's return, I wanted to do something other than just having him use magic to solve everything. In the end, I found it more pleasing for just his sheer presence to get things done. This works well with him being the only known human male that can use magic. Not to mention his use of intimidation doesn't hurt the cause much either.
The furthering of his younger siblings characters has in my mind gone well. Melryn and Aldain having received teachings from their brother which they both study to allow them both to grow far beyond what other human males that face the same restrictions they do would be able to accomplish. For syrelia, there was also left teachings not only to allow her to master mana manipulation but to better control her precognitive abilities.
Syrelia with her ability to see the future makes her an important character as such Lathim's move to marry her to one of Eldra's sons works as a measure to keep her close to him while enough distance for there to be some story to work with in the future with her.
Following these three would be leinea. I guess that I should note first that dragon marriages do not go through an engagement phase. Which would mean that she was technically married to lanthim all ten years he was gone. The only bump in the road would be the imperial law stating that one could only marry once an individual came of age at seventeen years of age. So their marriage while binding on the dragon side remained in limbo until lanthim turned seventeen.
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
This little detail also affects mynrea leaving nedral to marry lanthim. So this little plot twist is not much of a twist seeing as mynrea had stated her desire to have lanthim back before LBP3. I'm just bringing everything full circle. Then again some may ask how he can just marry one of his mothers. Truth be told with the extreme hostility between the four wives I doubt any of them thought of each other as family. There is also the fact that mynrea is a dragon and cares very little about how humans and other first order beings do things.
Her divorcing nedral was going to happen eventually. With mynrea's interest in him dwindling it was only a matter of time before she left for a better option. It just so happened that the better option had been born into nedrals family. So everything worked out in her favor until he took off to the east not to be seen for ten years. Using familiars the two of them did talk to each other while, I only eluded to this in a few lines however their correspondence lasted over four years. As time passed Lanthim built the great residence in which both of his wives would live. Eventually, the number of wives will increase but I will leave that for another time.
Okay, I pretty much almost wrote a half chapters worth for this Looking back. So a little something for you guys to look forward to some blood here a death or two there the next ten chapters is going to be a blast.
