The moon did not shine this night. Being the time of the new moon, there would be no light given for three days. As she was being carried by one of her captures. Syrelia could see the groups distance from the capital becoming greater with each passing moment.
'I can't sense anything, what kind of magic are they using to hide such a large group of people?'
Never had such magic been mentioned in any of her classes. In the academy given her rank, she could ask any question concerning magic and it would be answered. With that in mind, the thought of some form of magic that could completely hide an individual from another was quite frightening.
"Rezeim How far before we can rest carrying this human is becoming a real cumbersome."
The man that had been her transport up until this point seemed rather displeased with his condition having to play horse for a human girl. Feeling a little offended by this person's attitude towards her Syrelia could be seen by the three following having an expression that made them all laugh.
"What is so.....What The Hell Was That!"
Ramming her head upwards as her bearer turned slightly so to see the three who were laughing the little girls head came from below. Hitting the side of his head with such force, he lost balance and fell to the ground.
"Make sure the girl can't escape. As for you Hoalte, we still have another day till we reach the Drowlenth Valley until then you will bear this load as instructed." [Razeim]
The leader of the group a man who looked to be in his forties looked down at Syralia with eyes she had never seen before. Such deep ageless eyes, the look of gold that felt like by themselves his eyes alone could brighten the whole world.
"My mistress requires your presence child you will do well not to try and run away from us. A first order being such as yourself has no chance of being able to escape from us." [Razeim]
Still captivated by his eyes, the little girl simply nodded giving no sign of struggle. Having spent the entire time since leaving the capital with her hands bound she knew escape would be unlikely. As she was gently placed on Hoalte's back one of the group saw something odd. The expression on the girl's face changed completely from compliant to horrified in the matter of a second.
"What is the matter child we have orders to see you safely to our mistress so nothing bad will happen to you."
"I am thankful for those words however that will not save you once we enter the valley of tears."
Lanthim's Residence Forest of Legrcstim
The sun rose on the mountain residence in which there was a great commotion throughout the many students of Lanthim Frenost. For one so powerful to not be able to sense these kidnappers. Was something that stirred many to action for some the desire to prove themselves in a battle to restore what they saw as a loss of face for their master. For others, the search had been ongoing with no results.
Sitting in one of six special meditation rooms lanthim was completely still. Since the night before he had not moved from this spot. Since the kidnappers could not be sensed using purified mana he decided to use another alternative that only he could use. Having never taught any of his students to use this form of magic Lanthim moved from purified to natural mana.
By reaching a deep state of meditation, Lanthim could in effect make himself one with all natural mana. In doing so, he literally would become one with the world and all creation. While doing so had it's risks, as long as he did not try to over encumber himself then he would be fine.
That being said he would have to regulate the time he spent using natural mana. So at the present time just communicating with Syrelia was of greater concern to him.
Residence Fourth Tier Main Gardens
Three women sat together in the lower gardens of the residence. Having a devastated look on her face Litralia did not seem to enjoy her son's great work which was the many gardens in the residence.
"How could he have lost her when Syrelia was brought here to avoid such a thing from happening." [Litralia]
The sound of many different emotions could be heard in her voice anger, fear there was no shortage of feelings under the present circumstances.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"He will find her Litralia your son's anger has been kindled towards these people it will not be long before she is found and brought home." [Mynrea]
Being comforted by Mynrea was not something that Litralia had ever really thought about before now. True the dragonness stated many times her desire to have Lanthim to herself. With everthing just so suddenly becoming official Mynrea's obedience to Lanthim was, for the most part, a breath of fresh air for Litralia.
Be that as it may even though Mynrea was the older of Lanthim's two wives she was second to her granddaughter Leinea who had been married to Lanthim many years ago. The entire family situation in Litralia's mind seemed to be barely maintainable.
However actually seeing how Lanthim keeps everything in excellent order changed that line of thinking immediately.
"I don't like him locking us out at such a perilous time." [Leinea]
"It is because things are perilous that he distances himself. It would not be wise for him to show what is required. To make an example of these fools who would think to offend him."
The sudden entrance of two new was noted when one of the two spoke. Both were female the only difference was one being human the other demi-human.
"May I ask who the two of you are I do not believe that I have had the pleasure of being introduced?" [Litralia]
Being the first to greet the newcomers, Litralia on arrived in the residence not an hour ago so the number of people she actually knew in this great house was Mynrea and Leinea.
"It is a great honor to meet our masters mother for the first time. My name is Isaetal Hidmetryl I have learned a great deal from your son over these many years." [Isaetal]
Bowing deeply, Litralia felt out of place while listening to Isaetal's introduction. Taking a closer look, The young woman had fox-like features that easily placed her as a demi-human. The long ears were the first giveaway however it was her tail that Litralia found the most interesting there were four.
"I believe this is also our first time meeting Isaetal you live in the lower tiers of the residence. I am pleased to finally meet another of Lanthim's students. May I ask your rank before anything else?" [Leinea]
"I am pleased to say, my lady, that I hold the rank of Master." [Isaetal]
The expression on both dragon's faces hardened after receiving this answer everywhere they went they became smaller and less significant. Or at least, that was the feeling they both had. Having long live at the top of not only the social order but also the magical order. To suddenly be thrust into a place where they were basically nothing. At times brought about feelings of inadequacy.
"As for myself, I am commonly known as Jorentin Veil. I have long lived in this forest and have protected the library that lies within." [Jorentin]
The other older women spoke with a clear voice that seemed to have almost no age to it. While her facial features spoke a different story. Looking to be almost into her fifties. Unlike Isaetal, however, Jorentin did not bow after giving her introduction.
"Will you both sit we are just waiting on Lanthim for news." [Mynrea]
"If that boy is still meditating after all, this time, it will be hours before he comes out. When he was training to enter the library he would enter a state of meditation that I have never seen in all the years I have lived." [Jorentin]
Sitting on one of the empty chairs that was situated around the table at which Litralia and her daughters in law were sitting. The expression on all three of their faces was one and the same. Shock complete and utter shock.
"You knew Lanthim when he first came here?" [Leinea]
"Of course, I knew the boy when he arrived here the chances of him surviving in this forest was completely dependent on his accepting my training." [Jorentin]
The silence at the table was telling as everyone tried to make sense of what this older woman was saying. Even Isaetal was somewhat shocked by what was being said.
"Only through me was he able to learn the method require to enter the library. In order to attain everything that he has taught these new younglings."
