Mana is the force that resides within all things living. It has no form that can be seen with the naked eye. However, when controlled, mana is in its purified form. It can interact and change atomic structures. At any time and place, depending on the skill and understanding of the person who actively instigated that control. Methods of control vary, depending upon individuals or their clan teachings had an effect.
As children grow over the years, the amount of mana they can purify slowly increases. It allowed for other methods of control to be learned. With all this known, an important point concerning mana and how it is refined should be understood. Due to its natural composition, which has yet to be fully understood, many assume that mana enters the body through the skin. As it is absorbed, it is pulled by particular tendrils that reside within all living things.
Once coming into contact, the Natural Mana slowly begins to purify. Over some time, these tendrils continue to move the natural mana through the body. The purified begins to pool in the abdomen. From this source of mana, one controls the natural. This would allow for incredible feats of creation and destruction.
In Lanthim's room, neither the master nor the servant spoke to one another. The awe-inspiring interaction between pure and natural mana was playing out before their eyes. Felyma looked about her in a near daze but was able to keep her wits intact. From what seemed like nothing, thin strands of water were being formed, drawn together, and finally condensed into the sphere, levitating off the young master's hand.
'I do not understand this. A Male should not be able to manipulate mana. He should not even comprehend the mana that flows within himself.' {Felyma}
Talking to herself, Felyma continued to observe the event before her eyes. Time slowly drifted away; with it, the majestic streams of water. Like silk floating in the wind, all that remained was a boy. With the sphere of water he had made, it was almost like a small melon. It was hovering lightly, like it was not there at all, like a feather almost.
"Felyma, what is this called?" asked Lanthim as he stood observing his creation.
Felyma's energy was spent trying to understand what was happening before her. His question made some sense due to the hiring conditions at the estate. Mana was not used during duty, only when one had time off for training or other personal reasons.
Therefore, this was the first time he had seen someone use it. So how was Feltma to explain what he was doing on his own? With no training whatsoever and no knowledge of its nature.
"Young Master, this power is called mana, at least by our people. It has many names, for many races use it as we do." [Feltma]
Her answer was calmly given, even though she stood poised to bolt for him if something went wrong. Standing close enough but still feeling almost too far, she waited.
Then, almost like the entire event hadn't happened, the sphere dissipated. Due to the churning vortex created when Lanthim drew all the elemental components he needed to develop the water, all the furniture in the room was strewn all over the place. It would need to be set back in its place.
Motioning with his hand, Lanthim began to move, not each item. But everything that was not in its place, slowly but methodically, to its designated position within the room. Felyma continued to watch with no more fear in her heart for her master's safety. Just an awe-driven desire to understand how he was doing all of this.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
"Well, that should be alright. No one should notice what happened." [Lanthim]
Lanthim stood proudly admiring his work, looking here and there, ensuring everything was how it should be.
"So with that done, I should be able to bring this down." [Lanthim]
Snapping his fingers.
Felyma watched as the walls around them began to change to their original colour. Almost as if the transparent glass was being removed. She knew what this was. It was strange that it had eluded her till now. Closing her eyes, Felyma reached out with mana and began to study this thing her master had created.
As the Pure mana inside her began to interact with the natural. A feeling of many elemental structures interacting with one another could be felt. Felyma was amazed at the complexity of this construct. She had been trained in the nation's leading academy. In the control of mana, within that time there and in the subsequent years since then. She had never seen anyone even try to attempt something this complex.
As her analysis drew to a swift conclusion, light filled the room, allowing the sounds of the day to return.
"If it pleases you, young master, I will take my leave for now. If you require anything, please call." [Felyma]
Lanthim nodded where he stood, not speaking at all.
'I must report this to the mistress.' {Felyma}
Felyma thought to herself promptly, closing the door to her master apartments behind her.
"I had heard from the other servants of what he did in his earlier months. Seeing this exceeds my expectations." [Felyma]
She moved as quickly as she could but avoided causing inconvenience to anyone about their duties. Felyma made her way to the estate's main library. Most days, any of the many libraries in this great house. It would be used to educate daughters of the Nobility, who would send them for Magic training.
However, speaking with the mistress of the house would not be possible. There was someone else she would need to converse with before that, and she had just come around the corner to the main library.
"Chief Caretaker Milty, I was not informed that you had returned from your business in the village. The young master has woken and dressed as you instructed." [Felyma]
Giving her report to her superior, Felyma included a small curtsy.
"I am aware of that as well. I will listen to what you were going to report to our mistress. Since it is likely what you have to say I have already reported, you have come to speak about this, our mistress, so you will not need to do so." [Milty]
Milty immediately turned, beckoning Felyma to follow her.
"What do you mean already reported? The event happened not four minutes ago, and I was the only one present with him during the entire event." [Felyma]
Surprise and shock were the only emotions Felyma felt as she asked Milty about the situation.
"How could you have known?' {Felyma}
Milty did not answer, continuing to walk. Where their final location would be, only she knew. After some time, they both arrived at a small sitting room on the far west side of the estate. Hee, as we were waiting for them, sat a small catlike creature lying on the window sill, taking in the light.
"Felyma, what is your experience with familiars?" [Melty]
Exactly after she closed the door to the study. Milty asked this question. Pausing for a moment to think. Felyma answered.
"A witch creates a familiar. By melding a part of her being together with an animal or person. That also includes mana, though making a person into familiars is forbidden." [Felyma]
Milty presented a small smile and then walked over to the cat. That now was very comfortable on one of the many chairs in the room. Slowly picked it up and presented it to Felyma.
"This is Lanhou. He is my Familiar." [Milty]
Felyma looked at the creature that Milty was holding.
'So this was a familiar then.' {Felyma}
She had always thought if she ever wanted to get one that familiar, it would be something more significant.
'Wait, wasn't he in the room with the young master and myself earlier?' {Felyma}
The question entered her mind with fury. Looking back, she remembered there was a cat that always followed the young master wherever he went at that time as well.
"I can see your surprise, Felyma. As his caretaker, I must always know what happens around him. Therefore, I have always had Lanhou watch over him, my Little Spy." [Melty]
