Weeks passed as Lanthim continued to heal from his wounds. It was painful for him to lay in the meditation room he currently enhabited. The injuries he had suffered while treated by Yreni remained deep and painful. Lanthin lay tried to draw mana into his body. The mana tendrils where his wounds remained were either in a state of repair or creating supplementary mana circulation threw out his body. While attempting to draw mana he could only maintain a small flow for a few seconds before becoming exhausted.
'Hah...Hah, Barely anything today these injuries I have taken will take months to heal.'
Sweat fell from his face as the excursion of the moment earlier was far greater than expected. Thankfully his wounds had not opened this time as they had times before. Unlike when he had been first brought back to the estate after the battle. Trying almost instantly to heal himself without any thought of his own safety Lanthin had twice almost killed himself. After receiving the Spear of Dyhnal, the healing process became easier but was still slow.
There had been the first time Lanthim had taken damage this severe from combat, with the creatures in the forest could be fierce opponents. Powerful animals changed by the dense natural mana in the forest roamed everywhere they please. Allowing for a dangerous environment for somebody who wanted to enter. Or those who wanted to stay and find the library within.
Remaining as he was Lanthim remembered back to when he was a child. Left by himself to play with his toys on the floor. The only difference with his current situation was. If he sat up now he would bleed out from somewhere and that would make certain persons unhappy. Leinea would come to visit every day with Syrelia to check upon him. There would not be much said between them due to the damage to his neck Lanthim would not speak due to the pain. Only if necessary would he speak to anyone.
Mynrea and her sisters would visit as well separate from Leinea leaving Lanthim to wonder if something had happened between them over the last few weeks. Aside from these two groups, he was left alone unless some news came to his ears through Melfsol or he was being treated by Yreni.
Notwithstanding this, he could sense two newcomers had entered the meditation room.
"Mother it has been some time since you last came to see me." [Lanthim]
His voice strained as he spoke the pain from his throat could be managed for a few seconds. Feeling the pressure of two people sitting next to him Lanthim felt confused as to who was with his mother.
"You should not speak my son Yreni has been very adamant on this I was almost not able to come today." [Litralia]
At the entrance to the Lanthim could sense Yreni a thundering ball of fury after many times having to deal with so many people interacting with her patient since two days ago she forbade anyone from seeing him.
"Lanthim I have come today with Ms Nervym there is some news that could be troublesome." [Litrania]
Moving closer to her son Lanthim could feel something being placed next to him.
"This is a quill and some paper you should be able to use this to communicate with us without speaking." [Litralia]
Stolen novel; please report.
Litralia pulled back away from her son waiting to see what he would write. It was impossible for there to be any doubt in her mind that he could not do this simple thing. Young girls learn this kind of skill long before entering the academy.
Abruptly the quill jumped off the pages and for a moment twirled above them. Both women stared amused at the quill as it looked as if someone was playing with it in their hands. After a moment had passed the quill began to right on the paper.
"An excellent idea, while I do enjoy the company when others come to see me being unable to speak, does dampen my spirits a bit." [Lanthim]
The atmosphere of the room began to become heavy Lanthim could sense that while he had performed his little trick both women were amused but there was something that was now uneasy.
"Well, Lanthim there have been developments in the matter of your father's marriage to Varym Cousrlim." [Litralia]
Hearing this Lanthim ran through his mind of all the reports he had received about this person. By all accounts, Varym Cousrlim could be defined in simple terms as a spiteful, vain daughter of a powerful clan that married her below her station. Put simply the only reason she was even being forced into her situation was the rumours that Syrelia could see the future stirred by Feinea Frenost.
The wedding had taken place weeks ago and Lanthim had been absent Leinea hand gone as his representative. That should have been fine however he had also not allowed Syrelia to attend. The possible connection between the Cousrlim Clan and the Haldrathin race was something he could not be cautious of.
It had been some time since Syrelia had been captured by a band of Haldrathin and it was not simply because she was female. The ability to see the future was something anyone would want to have access to and Lanthim was very happy to see they had no illusions of his ability to keep them away.
"Is that so then I will hear this matter." [Lanthim]
Lanthim could sense his mother trying uneasily to find the words to say.
" After these few weeks of living with that individual, I have concluded that I can no longer continue to support your father and his clan any longer." [Litralia]
Listening to his mother speak Lanthim felt a little dismayed by what he was hearing. That however did not stop the smile forming on his face.
"I hope that the necessary documents have already been dispatched." [Lanthim]
The atmosphere of the meditation room eased instantly with Litralia sitting with a smile of her own now. She had worried about bringing this topic up with her son it had seemed that he had tried over and over again to keep the peace within the family. Now things looked ready to progress in a new direction.
" The divorce notice was sent three days ago to expedite the process I have revoked everything without claim giving everything to your father. I was just notified this morning that he will not fight the divorce so as of now I am no longer part of the Frenost clan." [Litralia]
Looking at her son Litralia saw his smile growing and a slight chuckle could be heard.
" Good very Good the roads ahead are indeed broad." [Lanthim]
