Victory no matter how small has the ability to move people in strange ways. Standing between both classes opponents flag in hand everyone just stood. Class 2-C had could not tell whether they should celebrate or just stare. For Lanthim, the entire activity had been underwhelming. Wanting his opponent to at least adapted to the changing situation. So he could have a little more challenge had him standing victorious.
'Having to do this every day will likely bore me to death.'
Turning to face his classmate who still just stood there not knowing what to say or do.
'Attending the tournament will almost be the same. Should not get my hopes to high for an opponent that will move me.'
Remembering the reason he had agreed to come to the academy. Having had agreed to take part in the Grand Six Academy's Tournament as Leinea's partner. Having tested the capacity's of the students here he found nothing. That interesting in their abilities at this point.
"We won. WE ACTUALLY WON!"
The eventual explosion of excitement could no longer be contained. As 2-C began to realize they had come out with the win. On the other side of the field shock was all that could be seen. Having never lost a battle before now even a small loss hurt.
{Train harder.}
The look on Leinea's face was first one of confusion only to turn to rage as she received his telepathic message.
"I have never seen someone get that close to their flag on the first action. You must use pretty powerful barrier magic to absorb all that damage." [Carlodre]
Being praised by the one who had earlier thought to threaten him over knowing Leinea. Lanthim felt that this young man might make a good friend to have in a tough spot.
"I have studied magic before coming to this academy. So you can say I have a boost in some respects when it comes to some kinds of magic." [Lanthim]
"Well if that is the case welcome to class 2-C let's have some fun." [Carlodre]
Smiling with his new accomplice both young men left the field together leaving the rest of the class celebrated. With the training exercise completed all that would be left was the physical training curriculum.
'I can, at least, try to get a good sweat out of this."
Not feeling too optimistic, Lanthim did remember one important piece of info. The location of where Melryn and Aldain did their physical training. It was with only these two, his own brothers that lanthim would hopefully have some kind of challenge.
" Do you think it is okay to pick on kids that haven't entered the general course levels yet?" [Carlodre]
"Everything will be fine, they may be young but you can bet good money. They will kick your ass if you are not careful." [Lanthim]
With an impressed look on his face, Carlodre continued to follow Lanthim to his desired location. One of the academies' many open stadiums full of female students watching the young junior course males train.
"In the center there, do you see the two sparring?" [Lanthim]
Pointing towards the two young boys who were going through blow for blow stance for stance. With such fluidity and deftness that one could see that all in the stands were here to see them.
"Melryn Frenost took four different first-year general course witches to the finals last tournament. Each in her own field of choice brought home the gold." [Carlodre]
Indeed, Melryn had made a name for himself without the ability to manipulate mana. With a strong body that seemed almost impossible to break. Also his perfect form with a sword made a magnet for attention.
"Well, I am about to kick the hornets nest so stay here and watch this time." [Lanthim]
Nodding curiously Carlodre watched Lanthim move towards his two brothers. In the center of the stadium with a sword in his hand. His movements were not aggressive as Lanthim approached. It was not like the other two would have noticed him so embroiled in the now. They could not help themselves but keep thundering away.
'To think that a simple combat form I developed for swift contact with an enemy would look this well executed.'
Lowering himself in preparation to strike he noticed Leinea entering the stands with a group of girls from her class. Kicking off with all his might neither of his brothers had time to react to his initial attack. Taking the full brunt of the attack Aldain smashed into a lower barrier wall that disintegrated when he impacted it.
His own protective barrier that kept students unharmed from physical attacks buckled but did not break. From the stands the amount of booing from the female students was unreal.

'Well, I did say I was going to kick the hornets nest.'
Seeing the glint of a blade coming from his left Lanthim parried effortlessly. However, Melryn's footing was perfect, bringing himself low at the last second. Just as Lanthim's counter strike came from his right. The younger brother advanced with a swift thrust that lanthim struggled to dodge at such a short range.
The smile on Melryn's face showed how confident he was in his abilities. Advancing to blows again both brothers began to strike at each other with such skill and precision that no one that watched could speak. It was as these two continued to strike at each other that Aldain having recovered from the earlier strike entered the fray.
Watching this take place Leinea could feel the excitement and fear from everyone in that stadium. Never had she seen such excellent execution of skill and latent talent.
"So that is your husband I hear."
Turning from the spectacle Leinea looked for the one who had spoken.
"Ah, lady Beltrie what bring you out of the general course campus?" [Leinea]
"The same thing as you. I come here often to watch the two brothers spar. Looks like I get three today." [Lady Beltrie]
One could barely hear over the thundering being caused by the battle down below. Creating a bubble of air around the two of them Leinea could talk with her friend without the extra noise.
"The academy will have an excellent year in the tournament. Melryn is in near perfect form and your husband will take you as far as you desire." [Lady Beltrie]
Leinea could not dismiss the statement. Both young men were far too strong to lose to any average opponent. With both being trained in the same sword arts that almost no one ever tried to study in order to find a weakness. Meant they would both just soldier on until they won.
"When the time comes we shall see. Lanthim has a desire to find strong opponents that can challenge him." [Leinea]
"Yes, the powerful seek that which can beat them. Keeps them from stagnating and becoming comfortable with the powers they already have." [Lady Beltrie]
Nodding slightly Leinea agreed, Lanthim was not every happy if he felt he wasn't going anywhere.
"Putting all that aside this is not the only reason why I am here." [Lady Beltrie]
Interested in what that reason was Leinea turned her attention fully to her friend.
"Freina would like to see you today if you have time after classes are out." [Lady Belrie]
"I will have time after classes. Yes, I will be glad to visit her today." [Leinea]
"It has been too long since my last visit Thank you Vemyre."
Preparing to take her leave Vemyre looked out at the spectacle that was still unfolding below them.
"Bring your husband as well might do my sister some good to meet someone new." [Vemyre]
Still displeased with Lanthim's remarks earlier Leinea did not want to sour a fun time with his presence.
"I will extend the invitation he will ultimately decide whether he wants to or not." [Leinea]
Smiling as she left Vemyre had fulfilled her purpose here. As she left Leinea and the spectators watched as the battle came to a close. With Lanthim barely sweating at all. While his two younger brothers could hardly stand on their own two feet.
'He fears nothing but stagnation. Then why is he so fixated on the True Magi?'
Slowly Lanthim pulled away from the two exhausted souls that lay on the ground trying to get a breath of air.
'Sigh, I guess I should go tell him then.'
Making her way down from the stands was not that difficult. All she had done was not attract attention by not having the rest of her class follow.
Coming to the exit Lanthim was standing there as if he knew she would be there.
"You wished to speak with me?" [Lanthim]
'Damn why are you so infuriating probably mouth read everything me and Vemyre were talking about.'
Powerful men are frightening beings as such knowing how not to handle them was important.
"Yes, my friend Vemyre has a younger sister named Freina. she is in a local hospital due to serious health issues." [Leinea]
Thinking about Freina and her condition Leinea felt deeply saddened.
"I will be going to visit her today after classes. You have been invited as well." [Leinea]
Lanthim looked at the depressed look on his wife's face. Knowing that there could be something more to it all.
"If they wish to include myself in the invitation then I have no reason to refuse." [Lanthim]
