First Steps - Choice 1

Choice Results are at the bottom of the page. Goodluck!

Boarded by an entourage of officers in heavy mail, the orcs inspect the ship, speak to the Captain and crew, then pull away to allow them through to bustling docks where you gain your first sight of Orkeylium, a bustling metropolis of strange sounds, noises, and unfamiliar scents that float across the breeze. The small port city holed up in wide cove that curls up around you with hundreds of shanties made of driftwood dotting the shoreline. The place reeking of fish, sweat, and salt.

Nose cringed up at the unusual sights and smells, you’re escorted down the plank by the Captain, who upon reaching the docks holds up a hand before you leave. “Here, I was meant to give you this package once you arrived in Ryzak.” The orc stated in a blunt voice, before shoving the package into your arms, and storming back onboard.

Curious to see what was inside you quickly open it up to find a small pouch filled with 10 gold pieces, a fragment of a map, and a hastily scrawled message that said, “Speak to Hasgraw.”

Half smiling at the challenge ahead of you, you look up and feel Yazrul at the back of your mind. “Looks like you have a starting point, but where to begin?”

Choice 1. Do you explore the Mausoleum?

Perhaps hoping to find some additional allies in the coming trials, you head into the busy town of Ryzak where you are treated as an outcast by passing orcs, your clothing a testament to your magical abilities, which acted both as a warning and a lure for hidden enemies that might seek your demise. There in town, you begin your search for the graveyard where they buried their dead. The orcs as you had come to learn in time, ate the bodies of their own deceased as a sign of respect, but there were those deemed to be so full of darkness, that they were buried deep beneath the soil, never to be found. A punishment left for souls.

Nose lifted into the air, you sniff for the familiar stench of decay, your nostrils guiding you towards the back end of town, out through the gates, and into a nearby glade that had trees twisted into gruesome beasts, poisoned by the ground. The tombstones, crumbled or eroded by time.

Careful not to disturb anything just yet, you lean down to press your hands into the dirt and listen for their names, a part of you wondering which one you should summon first. This, of course, would have its own risks and would require some of your blood for the spell to work effectively.

(Be wary, each attempt will cost you - 2 Hp, and perhaps even your life if you fail to control them.)
