After completing a little trading with the merchant. You follow his directions eastward along a well trodden path that takes you through the rugged hilly countryside. As your striding along the dirt road, you can't help but think about your two companions, who have so far kept silent. Deciding it's time to learn more about them you slow down to walk beside Gorrack.
Gorrack while at first refusing point blank to converse with you at all, snarling and growling at you to stop bugging him, when he lets slip a comment about how the lands here remind him of his homeland Orkeylium. Something to do with how the soil back home while not as lush and fertile like other lands, has a lot of greenery and wildlife that stretches out for miles in all directions. Your interest piqued you ask him more about his homeland Orkeylium and reluctantly he tells you more.
He explains how the Orcs of his homeland live in a period of great turmoil with religious cults spreading like wildfire throughout the countryside dividing their people, how there is a war raging with their neighbors in Kahloon, and of the immense Citadels and Strongholds built to protect them that have drained the coffers dry, leaving thousands of Orcs starving and homeless.
Confirming all the rumors you'd heard recently about the war between the Orcs and Ogrekan (Ogres). Probably one of the longest running conflicts in the history of Coroleya that has lasted for nigh on thirteen years now without any signs of the war coming to an end.
Back before you had joined the Wingdarts you had thought about heading over there yourself to make some gold, but had eventually decided against it, too much risk and too little reward. Gorrack seeing you become distracted, flares his nostrils angrily and snaps his mouth shut, refusing to talk to you any longer. So you try to engage Lorna in some lively conversation, but she simply ignores you and points ahead of her.
Your first sight of Barenter has your jaw almost breaking off from your mouth. Imposing thick white stone walls thrust up out of the ground for hundreds of feet up into the air like a perfectly baked cake with dozens of layers leading upwards. It's walls glistening with unearthly beauty remind you of the glowing moss inside the caverns you passed through awhile ago, and standing at the steel gates are two massive bronze statues of stern dwarven warriors. Fluttering in the wind above the grand City are hundreds upon hundreds of banners from all across Coroleya, welcoming all races. Primarily a trading hub for all dwarves living on the surface, it is a place well-renowned for having everything an adventurer needs. As you draw closer to the magnificent city you begin seeing travelers coming in and out of city. Werewolves, Minotaurs, Ogres, elves and Redlings. You also see heavily armored dwarven warriors in black plate armor patrolling the roads, searching for any signs of trouble.
Ignoring the strange looks you receive from having such odd travelling companions, you reach the city's outer limits and see a sprawling tent city pushed up against her walls, a place where thousands of merchants have set up their stalls to sell their wares. The cries of the merchants selling their goods reaches your ears, as well as the stench of unwashed bodies sweating heavily. Lorna wrinkling her nostrils at the smell, pulls out a handkerchief to press it to her mouth and nose. But to you this is the smell of pure freedom, taking in long deep breaths, you let the sounds of the city wash over you, welcoming you home. Smiling happily, you move in amongst the crowds of warriors, farmers and noblemen that move about from stall to stall.

With all the bets gathered, the redling waves his arm in the air and the cages slide open. Immediately the black wyvern launches itself at the smaller dragon. Clawing its chest, face, and neck, while trying to tear out its throat with its jaws. The grey scaled wyvern badly wounded from the swift assault, manages to claw its way free, before leaping into the air to spiral downward and clamp onto the black scaled wyvern's back. The black dragon whipping its head back and forth, struggles to rip off the smaller dragon that has dug in its talons. Bleeding profusely from the wounds on its back the black dragon rolls around in the pit, until it finally dislodges the grey scaled wyvern.
Wearily the two beasts circle each other around the pit, their hot breath misting in the air, when the grey scaled beast all of a sudden pounces forward, feinting an attack to its left, before locking its jaws around the black scaled dragon's throat. The black wyvern quick to react releases a stream of white hot flames directly into the grey scaled creature's face, briefly blinding it. In that instant the black wyvern strikes out to rip out its throat, ending the fight.
Lorna sick and tired of waiting for the fight to end, grabs you by the arm, and you towards the open City gates. Where you are stopped by a trio of heavily armed dwarven warriors. "What's your business here in the City stranger?"
"We're but simple travelers seeking a belly full of food, some pleasurable entertainment and a warm bed to sleep for the night." The dwarf snorts in amusement and replies suggestively, "Oh aye, there be plenty of entertainments here abouts the City," which causes the other dwarves to guffaw loudly, before allowing you to pass by. Lorna utterly mortified by the brief conversation whispers furiously in your ear, "You truly are sickening you know! The sooner we part ways the better." Pretending you don't what she means, you ask nonchalantly, "But whatever do you mean? I was only inquiring after some musical entertainment for the night!" She glowers at you hotly, ready to explode, when you remark. "Listen, before we leave for Caldasher we will need to get our hands on a map, fresh supplies for the road and it wouldn't hurt to get some better equipment. After all killing a demon will not be easy." Lorna's anger slowly drains away from her face to be replaced with concern. "We will also need a weapon blessed by the divine if we are to slay this demon."
You raise your eyebrow up. "Wait! Don't you have one already?" Lorna exchanges knowing looks with Gorrack. "We did, but the weapons have been tainted by the demoness. She probably feared we would return and use them against her." You sigh heavily, this quest was becoming more and more complicated with each passing minute, which makes you wonder. Why bother at all? Your free, why not go back to doing whatever you want? And you really don't have an answer, its like every time you think about doing something else, you feel this strong compulsion to return to the task at hand. It's like a piece of her has crawled inside of your mind and appears every time you have a rebellious urge or thought.
Sighing again, you say, "I guess we will just have to find one then." Lorna nods her head in agreement and strides away, before stopping and spinning on her heels. "We will meet back here at the gates in a couple of days. Gorrack and I have duties in the city we need to attend first." With that she turns back around and continues striding away with Gorrack not far behind her. Feeling a great weight lift off of your shoulders at their disappearance, you march deeper into the city streets, passing row upon row of square stone houses. Stopping for a moment you ask for directions from a female storekeeper selling perfumes. Following her directions, you head further up, climb a winding staircase that leads to the upper part of the city and find yourself in front an inn called the "The Drunken Dragon". Half grinning at the name, you enter the inn, where your greeted by balding cheerful dwarf with sparkling green eyes and a round body. Probably from drinking too much of his own ale.
(You may pay for a single meal. Cost 50 Gold pieces, which will heal 10 Health Points)
The dwarf guides you over to a empty wooden table and tells you take a seat, before bustling off to do whatever he needs to do. Glancing about the room, you see more than a few seated warriors staring back at you, their hands almost caressing their weapons. You think about leaving and going to another inn, when the innkeeper returns with a cheerful smile and tankard full of ale. "The first drink is on the house. Now, what is it that I can do for you?" Taking a sip of the fiery hot liquid that instantly warms your insides you ask, "Do you know where I can find a divine weapon?" The old dwarf furrows his brows, "Well, have you checked the notice board. I was sure, I heard Darogar mentioning a reward of that kind."
"Notice Board?" The innkeeper nods his head over towards the board by the entrance to the inn. Thanking him, you walk over and see a single note posted on the board.
Contract Broken Bone(Difficulty Level: Extreme)
A large troll war party has been sighted outside the city terrorizing the countryside, and being lead by a giant going by the name of Broken Bone. Any warrior willing and able to slay this godforsaken creature will be handsomely rewarded with the Stone Heart of Galdispar. A holy artifact recovered from the ruins of Calshieer.
Signed Captain of the City Guard Darogar
Interesting, maybe this is worth looking into, as you turn to leave the noticeboard. You see a black smudge out from the corner of your eye. You step over towards it and see that the black smudge is in fact a tiny black scroll that has been concealed behind the noticeboard. Pulling it out, you open the scroll.
Contract Dark Deeds (Difficulty Level: Tough)
Listen some of the boys and I are looking for a few more willing lads, who aren't afraid of getting their hands dirty. Things could get rough, but the pay is more than worth it. If your interested head over to the red lantern and say the words "Death is no Stranger."
Signed Blood Fist
Well, well, well what have I found here? Was this message meant for anyone or only those with darker inclinations. Either way it could also be worth checking out. With that thought in mind you walk over to the innkeeper and ask for a room for the night.
