"Ahhhhh!" A high-pitched yell erupted in a classroom. "It's a murder!" Inku's corpse was on the ground. Her head was decapitated and flies hovered around her cadaver.

Another day another case, and another gruesome murder for me to solve.
"Please, detective find out who killed my best friend." Said Marilyn frantically with red teary eyes.
The detective shove an unlit cigar into his mouth and rotated his chair to face the troubled girl.
Marilyn Meitner, a lassy who came into my office earlier. She was a bit panicked and her clothes were covered in blood. Her eyes were filled with an overwhelming amount of emotion.
"Worry not miss." The detective stood up and began to put on a leather jacket. "Detective Sam Kulagina is on the case!" Said the detective while spitting out his cigar.

Location: Classroom 37
Sam crouched next to the body, he examined the body using his sleep-deprived eyes.
This blood is leaking from the body... It's fresh! This means the murder must have happened recently in the past hour or two.
His eyes moved to the small and totally not lethal wound on her neck.
How gruesome. It wasn't a clean cut and it seemed to be gone by some amateur. The weapon is unclear, it could have been anything sharp or heavy judging by the cut.
*Bzzt Bzzt*
Sam swatted the flies away.
Flies? Pesky little poop-eating bugs. Wait do they actually eat poop? I think I might have to look into that. But this number of flies is unusually large. Did somebody bring them here?
Sam stood up and went to look for more clues. He scanned the classroom and found something interesting.
"An orange slice?" Sam picked up the shell of the fruit and examined it.
This orange skin seemed to be crushed by something. Maybe a hammer or some other flat-surfaced object?
Sam stored the orange skin inside his mouth. His mouth moved up and down as he tasted the evidence.
This is still fresh... I think. Also, this has a taste of dirt and something quite disgusting.
Sam spat out the orange skin onto the victim's body. Was it a sign of disrespect or perhaps lower intelligence, lack of critical thinking, and inability to aim?
"This isn't enough data."

Location: Male's Bathroom
Carver walked inside the bathroom. He wore a white two-piece pajama and a plague doctor mask. He went to the middle toilet stall and opened the door.
"Bam!" Sam was startled by the sudden noise.
"Umm, Mr. Baxter welcome to my interrogation room. Please close the door behind you when you enter."
Carver closed the door and stood in front of the sat detective. It was cramped and extremely awkward because it was too costumed men sharing a toilet stall while slow jazz played from a small box inside the stall.
"Hey Sam..." He didn't answer instead he just bit the cigar inside his mouth. "What exactly do you want?"
"Do you want anything, like some water or a snack?" Said Sam.
"Uhh, no thanks. Do we really need to speak here?"
Sam reached behind Carver and locked the door. "I don't feel save Sam!" He then reached for his pocket and took out black sunglasses. He dons the glasses and changed the music to hard rock.
"I know you did it!"
Sam grabbed Carver by the collar, *Slam*, and bashed him into the stall door. "Did you think, your crimes can go past my watchful eyes?"
"What the hell are you talking about?!"
"The murder of Inku Mustoy! Is what I'm talking about."
Carver pushed Sam's arms away and fixed his collar. "Well, I didn't do it. Why would I kill her? I dont do things I dont have any motivation in!"
"You said you didn't know but." Sam pulled out a small plastic zip-lock container. Inside was a wet and crushed skin of an orange. "This proves otherwise!"
"How does that prove me guilty?"
Sam dropped the evidence and grabbed Carver by the collar again. *Slam* He banged him into the stall door.
"Stop it!"
He took off his sunglasses and changed the music back to some good old blue soul. "Carver Im gonna need to have you calm down. This is immature of you."
"You're the one who keeps pushing me!"
"Come down Carver, calm down. I'm not here to antagonize you, I'm here to prove your innocence."
"What were you doing the past 2 hours?"
Carver stopped his childlike outburst and recalled what he did during the time of the murder. "Well, I was asleep in my bed."
"Are you sure? Maybe you had a manic episode and went on a genocidal rampage while leaving behind orange skins."
"Sam, you were the one who woke me up. Also, you threw a bucket of water on me and screamed at me to meet you here."
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
Carver pulled up his shirt and pointed at the bruised he received from the bucket.
"Is that so." Sam's hand slowly went for the sunglasses inside his pocket
Seeing that he was about to get slammed into the door again Carver acted. "Electric Spark." A small constant current of electricity shot out of his finger and into Sam's body.
Sam's body convulsed from the point black electric wave and he soon fell unconscious on the toilet.
*Click*
Carver unlocked the door and left the second murder scene this day. Except Sam wasn't dead, he was just fast asleep from the sudden increase of energy inside his body.
After a couple of minutes of doing his best Elvis impression, he jolted awake and continued his investigation.

Location: Somewhere Dark
Sam knocked on a metal reinforced door. It was quietly pushed open by an individual wearing a trenchcoat and a mask.
"Pssst! You got the stuff?" A bellowing and nasty voice came from the individual.
"Yeah." Sam pulled out papers from a folder and presented them to the shady trenchcoat.
"You got the information?"
"Woah." The individual's mask moved closer to Sam's hand. "This is the good stuff."
"Hey! eyes off." Sam hid the pictures inside the folder and magic began to flow in his left hand in case of an emergency.
"Don't get hostile now... Anyway here's the info. The answer was right under your nose the whole time."
"What! There's nothing under my nose. "Sam quickly wiped off the white powder near his nose.
"I didn't mean it literally. Haven't you heard of that phrase before?"
"Nope but I think I get what you mean."
"Do you though?"
"No!" Answered Sam without skipping a heartbeat.
"It means the answer was in plain sight. Just look for the obvious ones and that is probably the answer."
"Ok." Sam handed the folder to the trenchcoat. "Here are some high-quality pictures of the 24th Monster King."
A tiny black arm the size of a finger emerged from the middle of the trench coat. "Say hi to your dad for me!" The trenchcoat moved back and was absorbed by the dark abyss behind it.
The door returned to its original closed state. Sam then took out a small knife and cut the air next to him, creating a portal to the Academy.

"Wake up!"
Marilyn was shaken awake. She wiped the drool off her face and fixed her sitting posture. "Huh?"
"I have done it!"
"Oh thank you so much, detective! Now tell me, who did it?"
"The person who did it... Was you!" Sam handcuffed Marilyn.
"What!" Said Marilyn with immense confusion in her voice.
"Using the clues I found and my logical thinking brain, I have come to the conclusion that you were the person who did it."
"Perhaps you are mistaken Detective. Have you made sure that you have gotten your head out of your own ass?"
"Yes! There is not a single bit of ass, in this case, only jealousy and murder."
"Jealousy?"
"Here let me tell you the motive behind this murder. It all started on the day of your wedding. Inku didn't atte-"
"Hold on! What do you mean wedding?"
"Would you be quiet, please? I'm trying to tell the whole story here."
"Oh, my bad. Sorry for interrupting the stream of bullshit coming out of your mouth."
"Anyway, she didn't attend. Instead, she spent the whole day uhh, doing cool shit like wind magic and having green hair."
"After that, you experience hardships judging by your face...No offense of course. Meanwhile, Inku had the time of her life. She found the love of her life and she won the lottery. So you killed her out of immense jealously"
"You grabbed a dull blade, proceeded to kill her, and you then left the skin of an orange in order to frame Carver. After the murder, you went to my office to seem innocent and to create an alibi. But you forgot one simple thing."
"You were covered in the victim's blood!"
"First of all offense taken. Second, you're invented all that up. And lastly, I was covered with her blood because I hugged her dead body out of grief and sadness."
"That makes sense... You're free to go Marilyn. I guess it's back to square one for me."
Sam tiredly let out a moan of annoyance and boredom. "If only someone was there during the murder."
"Yeah if only."
"Ahem. I said if only someone was there during the murder!"
"Yeah if only!"
"IF ONLY SOMEONE WAS THERE DURING THE MURDER!"
"YEAH IF ONLY!"
The door flung open and Ernest stepped inside the room. He pointed his finger at himself and made eye contact with Sam
Despite no words being said and his face being extremely creepy and doll-like, he and Sam understood each other completely.
Sam put handcuffs on Ernest's hands. "How lucky that the murderer decided to turn himself in."
Ernest's face shook fastly to the left and then to the right over and over again. His face remained the same and there wasn't a single display of emotion on his face but his hands were a different story.
His hands darted around and danced. He was trying to communicate in some sort of symbolic language. "I don't understand what you're trying to say but it doesn't matter for I have solved this case."
Marilyn face Ernest and grabbed him by the shoulders, her arms still in handcuffs."Why did you do it? Why would you kill Inku?" There was pain in her voice as she confronted the suspected killer.
Ernest stared into her eyes. He didn't speak a single word and his face remained the same.
Sam butted in the middle of the two. "Well, you're free to go, Ernest." He unlocked the handcuffs with a key he got from his pocket.
"What!" Marilyn grabbed the handcuffs and handcuffed Ernest. "He might have killed Inku."
"Huh?" Sam's face was covered by the seasoning called confusion. He didn't know why Marilyn was so emotional over the death of a classmate.
He scratched his face and winked at her. "Silly, it doesn't matter in the end."
Ernest nodded in agreement.
"She's dead." Her voice was shaky. Her eyes wandered around the room trying to avoid his classmate's confused gazes. "She's gone. I really loved her."
"And?" He took three big bulky cigars out of his pocket.
"Do you not feel emotions? What the hell do you mean by that!"
"Im just a little confused." He began to juggle the cigars.
"Is that so...Losing a best friend is just really sad. We were such great friends."
"Losing?" The cigars fell to the floor due to his slow hands. "You talk like she's dead."
"She is!"
Sam tried to hold back laughter as he moved his hand to cover his mouth. "Uh sure. Anyway, get out of my office, it's time for my epic detective monologue."
Ernest and Marilyn, we're pushed out of the office by a strong breeze coming from Sam's hand.

Location: Dormitory
"I... I just don't understand." Marilyn sadly walked through the corridors of the dormitory. She arrived at the front door of her deceased best friend's room.
She walked inside in hopes of getting some sort of memento from Inku's belongings.
"I am the Monster King, Inku the Devourer!" Inku stood glorious on top of the pillow fort made by her roommates. However, she and her terrifying kingdom were toppled by the power of a crying person.
"Get off me, Marilyn." Inku was being squished alive and doused with tears.
"How are you alive?!"
"What do you mean?"
She stood up with tears of joy running down her face. "I saw your dead body."
"And? I'm confused, Marilyn."
"..."
"You know what! It doesn't matter. I don't care anymore." Marilyn let go of all her worries and hugged her friend again.

Location: Classroom 37
Inku swung a purple blade around like a child. "Swoosh, swoosh, slash!" She created imaginary targets in her mind and struck them down with recklessness and heedlessness.
"Die ghosts!" She threw the blade at the blackboard. The blade bounced and the handle struck her in the face. Her mask fell to the floor along with her dignity.
"Oww oww owwww!" She massage her face while she slowly paced around the room. Her pure black eyes met the gaze of another student. Ernest was standing right under the doorway.
"Uhh. I wasn't trying to imitate her. I-i was uhh," her face darted all over the room trying to find something. "Just killing these insects."
She ran to a glass container filled to the brim with flies. She opened it and was immediately swarmed by the 4th plague. As she began to panic, trying to swat the bugs, she slipped on an orange peel.
She fell to the ground and kicked the sword into the air. The sword bounced all over the room. The blade darted and vaporized flies like butter.
Inku hurriedly got up and jumped to the left, avoiding the blade which aimed to skewer her through her back.
The blade zoomed towards Ernest and in one swift motion... It bounced back like it struck a hard piece of metal. The sword spun in the air and swerved cutting into the back of Inku's neck.
She fell to the ground with her back first. The gravitational drop put the needed force into the extremely sharp sword to mow the remaining flesh and bone in her neck.
----------------------------------------
"Has anyone seen my... Oh." Bridget moved her legs with zero enthusiasm to the location of her sword. She acquired her family heirloom and left the room. She walked past a girl, who was whistling and skipping with her eyes closed.
