<3rd POV>
"Rush the gates! Don't let them push you back!"
"AHHHHHH!" yelled the men clad in armor swinging around swords, axes, polearms, clubs, and anything they could get their hands on.
With the earlier shout, the men were steadfast in their charge of the gates so they could end the day's siege and go back to relaxing. If they survived the day that is.
The gate the men were rushing opened up to reveal one man clad in light armor wearing a helmet on his head, and a giant axe at his side.
"What the hell?! They only sent one person? These little shits underestimate us this much huh? HAHAHAHA! Fine, then. That's easier for us. RUSH HIM!" yelled what is now identified as the commander, to his men.
"Commander, what is that by his side?" asked his aide.
"What? It's just a weapon so what? I doubt they are incompetent enough to not be able to kill one man." he scoffed at his aide.
"But sir, t-that's a giant a-axe." stuttered the aide, putting two and two together.
"So what if it-, what did you say?! An axe?! A giant axe?!" said the commander, as if remembering mid-sentence.
"Y-yes commander. It's an axe." said the aide, with dread on his face.
"RETREAT! Stop the rush!" yelled the commander.
"It's too late commander, the men are too far away for your orders to be relayed properly."
"Shit! Send down the order, we need to retreat and conserve as much manpower as possib-"
BOOM SPLAT
The commander was unable to finish his orders seeing as his head exploded.
Back on the castle being raided. At the top of a rampart with a good view of the battlefield. There lay a woman with a weapon yet to be mass-produced by the world. The curious part of the picture was that the woman was not holding a weapon but the weapon was a part of her body. Weirder still was how the woman wasn't even looking in the direction of the commander when she shot him. Instead, she was reading a book.
"Oh whoops. I forgot to tell Matt the commander was dead. Oh well." she said before going back to reading her book with a cat laying next to her.
Back at the gates, the man who was standing there waiting for the throngs of men to reach him had now readied his axe on his shoulder. The axe was bigger than an axe should reasonably be but other than that it was quite standard. A giant handle with a giant axe head made the axe stand at 6 feet tall.

It couldn't be seen by anyone, but under the helmet, there was a smile on the man's face.

<1st POV>
Seeing the crowd of men rush me, trying to kill me in hopes of earning more coin, more food, one more girl to have sex with, and one more day to live, I readied my axe to cut them down.
When I first got here, it was hard for me to get used to the idea of wantonly killing men. It was different from Andrew's dad or even the kidnappers, who I know did something bad. Even though I knew the kidnappers did horrible things, I didn't kill them because I wanted them to face their accusers. While Andrew's dad and the kidnappers were hurting innocent people, these men were fighting other men who agreed to fight for some coin. They were fighting to survive.
Maybe they've done bad things in their life. They've r***d and pillaged, who knows. I certainly don't. The only thing I know is that they are fighting to survive. And whether that be to provide coin for their family or to provide coin for themselves, they are putting their life on the line. That's why it was hard for me at first because I didn't know whether I was killing a r****t or a man trying to feed his family.
But it's when you have to kill to survive, when you have to cut down every man in front of you or you or your comrades die, that your views on the world change. That's when you come to realize that life is meant to be respected, and those that agree to put their lives on the line for something worthy, must be cut down with respect. And those that do harm unto others for their self-gain or their self-satisfaction, are meant to be cut down ruthlessly.
"Charge him!" yelled the man leading the group, who snapped me out of my thoughts.
But then again, maybe all those thoughts were bullshit and I'm just a battle maniac.
SWISH
The man in the lead and a small group behind him were all cleaved in half at the waist by a swing of my axe. Seeing this happen, the men behind had clear disbelief on their faces while still charging at me.
Deciding to meet their charge, I rush towards the incoming traffic and cleave them apart before spinning my axe around me, taking out a large chunk of them.
"Who the hell is that?!" I heard one of the men lucky enough to stop in time ask.
"Wait, giant axe as big as the man wielding it, able to cleave apart dozens of men with a single swing? That's Blood Axe Darius!" answered a man nearly pissing himself.
Yes, you heard that right. I decided Matt was too out of place in this time, so I decided to take up the name of the man whose axe I first got. Even though I'm not using the axe, since it would make things too easy, I'm still using the martial art associated with it. I also asked for a replica of my axe to be made. Of course, the quality is incomparable to my axe but it'll do for now. As for the nickname, it's not the worst one I could've gotten, so I'm fine with it.
"Who cares?! He's only one man if we rush him we can kill him!" said one of the men before riling up a group of them to rush me.
"I can't wait to fight an apostle. You guys bore me." I said before swinging my axe horizontally bisecting the group rushing me before going in to start cutting down the rest of them. One swing and I clear an area in front of me, but one of them was able to duck in time and stabbed a sword at my throat. Seeing this I moved my head to the side so the sword would skirt off of my helmet before I brought down my axe on him, cutting him in half.
Apparently, it was like I used Darius' ultimate ability that causes fear when executing someone because everyone around me started backing up before retreating.
"One more day down. That boom from earlier was probably Amelia sniping the commander, so this siege will probably be over soon. Thank god, I was getting tired of being ogled by everyone in the castle." I said before walking back into the castle to go to the house our group was staying at.
