"Good morning, sir. I have a package waiting for you." said Charon, the concierge as I made my way to his desk.
"Thank you, Charon. Appreciate it."
"Of course, sir." he said before I went back to my hotel room carrying the package.
Once inside, I made sure to lock my door and double-check for any recording devices. Finding none, I made my way to the sofa and placed the package on the coffee table.
'Okay, let's see what Masato has for me.'
Opening the package the first thing I could see was a stack of documents that pertained to my account with JPMorgan Chase. Looking through the papers, it seems everything was in order. I now had an account with 2.509B, after taxes, a shiny new credit card, and a phone number to my very own personal bank personnel ready to assist me with whatever I may need, within reason. Though I very much doubt they would turn down a request no matter what it may be.
'I have no doubt Masato asked for the highest amount of secrecy, but something like this should spill out eventually. Oh well. Let's see what else he sent me.'
After the bank documents was a report of the 5 best law firms in the US, and 3 of them were in New York.
'Originally Pearson Hardman now Pearson Darby, seems like there's a lot of internal conflict with this one. But Masato does say that they have a really good lawyer there whos apparently the best closer in the city. Wonder if he'll take work on his own and not with the firm. And apparently, the other two firms are good, but not as good. A conundrum.
Work with a potentially unstable law firm that may be ruined at the drop of a hat, or work with second best? I'll take the risk. And if things really become a problem, I can buy them, let them keep whatever names they want, so as long as they're good at what they do. I'll call them once I'm done here and tell them I had a referral that was set up by Masato. Guess he knew I would choose them anyway.'
Putting down the report, I saw that there was another stack of papers in the package. Picking them up and flipping through them, I noticed it was resumes for a secretary.
'Oops, seems like Masato's giving me a hint here. Oh, wait there's a sticky note. It says "Garetty-sama, Shinomiya-sama mentioned you would need a secretary because you can not keep using his, or so he says. Here are some of the potential candidates we have within the company who would be training under me once you pick one of them. They will uphold the utmost secrecy."
So, it was Gan'an who was tired of me using his secretary, makes sense. Let's see these resumes.'
Looking through the resumes, there wasn't one that stood out to me. No familiar faces or names.
'I was hoping someone would stand out to me. I could send these to Amelia and hope she recognizes someone. I think she's watched more anime than I have, and her world is more ahead of mine so there might be some I'm missing out on. I'll ask her in a private message.'
Matt: Can I ask for a favor?
Amelia: Ooh, a private favor. Are you asking me for date ideas?

Matt: What? No. Why, has she mentioned something?
Amelia: Never mind. What's up?
Matt: Not never mind, you said something knowing I would be curious so fess up.
Amelia: Fine. You didn't hear this from me, but she thought you would have made a move after that first year.
Matt: I was taking it slow. Playing the long game.
Amelia: You've been playing it for a long time then. Just buck up and do it. We all know she likes you and you like her. It's so obvious.
Matt: Noted. Not what I came here for, but thank you for the info. I'm looking through some secretary resumes and I don't recognize anyone. I wanted to send them to you just in case you did.
Amelia: Sure, send them over. Might take me a while though, about to stream in a bit.
Matt: No rush, and thanks for the help on both fronts.
Amelia: No problem, and I better hear good news from her soon.
'Okay, so it seems I've been taking too long. Noted and filed for later. Right now, let me send Amelia the pictures and then call about the appointment.'
Quickly scanning the documents with the DGC phone before sending them, I then called the number Masato had left on a sticky note telling me about the referral.
"Pearson Darby, how may I help you?"
"Hi, I'm looking for Harvey Specter."
"What is this in reference to?"
"I have a referral from Masato, he should know what it's about."
"One moment." she said before going silent for a minute.
"I'm transferring you to Mr. Specter's secretary."
"Thank you."
"Mr. Garetty?"
"This is he."
"Mr. Specter has eagerly been waiting for your call and I have been informed he would like to invite you out to lunch at 3 at Hawk's, would that work for you?"
"Sounds good."
"Fantastic, he'll see you then, Mr. Garetty."
"Great, goodbye." I said before hanging up.
'So, I have a few hours to kill until then, guess I'll hack into Pearson Darby and see what they're hiding.'

Arriving at the restaurant, I was brought to a private room where he was already waiting.
"Mr. Garetty, it's nice to meet you." said Harvey as he stood up to shake my hand.
"Mr. Spectre, likewise." I said while quickly checking for any recording devices, call me paranoid but all is fair in business.
"Please call me Harvey." he said as he sat down while I did the same.
"Then call me Matt."
"So, Matt, what's a doctor like you need a corporate lawyer for?"
"Right into business? I like it."
"Hold up, you're not going to ask me to sign something? An NDA perhaps?"
"I'm assuming a lawyer of your stature would know better than to speak about things that shouldn't be spoken about."
"That's a correct assumption, but most high-powered wealthy people don't like to take chances. So, they make me sign an NDA."
"Not necessary, it falls under attorney-client privilege."
"You haven't hired me yet."
"Once we're done here you'll ask me to hire you." I said with a smile.
"Okay, I like your bravado. Let's hear it."
"I have plans. Plans that will require talented people to help me fulfill those plans. And you may be one of those people."
"What kind of plans?"
"The kind that will advance technology and medicine by leaps and bounds. The kind that will leave my name on the hallowed halls of human history. Newton, Einstein, Hawking, Garetty."
"You're joking right?"
"Not right now."
"Okay, let's say you're serious. Let's say you really do have the cojones to back that claim up. What do you need me for?"
"One of the first steps in my plan is to start a company and for that, I'll need a corporate lawyer. And who else would I hire but the best?"
"You want to hire the best closer in the city, to help you start a company?"
"Slightly more nuanced, but yes. I need your help to help me start an empire." I said, stunning him into silence.
"O-okay, surely you must have something more concrete to back up these claims than just words?"
"I do, but it's all in here." I said pointing at my head.
"You didn't think that maybe me seeing these plans might sway me more?"
"I did, but it's unnecessary. With or without you, my plans will come to fruition. The only question that matters now is if you want to be part of history or watch it be created. And if it doesn't come to fruition, you'll still get paid anyways. It's a win-win for you."
"I don't know if I'm crazy or you're crazy, but I'm in."
"Good, but one other thing I need your help with."
"What?"
"I need you to get me in contact with Hana Kirisaki."
"The business consultant?"
"Yes. And my future financial manager."
