"I'm Detective Benson, this is my partner Detective Amaro. We have some questions we'd like to ask you." she said.
"Whoa. Detectives? Look whatever's going on here, he's been with us all night. And Barney's been with him longer than that." said Ted to the detective pair.
"Okay. If that's true then he won't have a problem talking to us for a bit." said Detective Amaro.
"And I'm assuming you'll take my refusal to talk to you as an admittance of guilt?" I said to which neither responded.
"Alright, let's go, not like I have anything to hide anyways." I said before standing up and finishing my drink.
"Let's go talk outside." said Detective Benson who began to walk before I followed her with Detective Amaro trailing me from behind.
"Should we call Marshall?" asked Robin.
"Yeah, let's call him just in case." said Ted I heard him say before I went out of earshot.

Now outside of the bar, I was leaning against the railing of the stairs with the two detectives in front of me.
"So what can I do for you tonight, detectives?" I asked starting off the conversation. Even though he who speaks first, loses is a popular negotiation tactic, that only works when each side has something to gain.
"Where were you earlier tonight?" asked Detective Amaro.
"Straight to the point huh? Well as my friends stated earlier, I was with them all of this night. And before that, I was at a conference."
"A conference? You look a little young to be going to conferences?" he questioned.
"Haha. Don't I know it. Those places are full of old men wanting praise. But I was invited and as it was my first invitation, I didn't want to be rude."
"Invited? I was under the assumption only those who are particularly well-known are invited to conferences." said Detective Benson.
"Well, I do have a bit of a reputation." I said with a smile.
"I'll say. Youngest doctor ever, beating out the past record by 2 years. That's quite a reputation." she said.
"Eh, a bunch of meaningless titles. Action is what shows a true person's worth."
"Mmm." was all she said as she stared at me.
"So, Doctor. Did you happen to meet a young lady by the name of Chloe Russo at the conference?" asked Detective Amaro.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
"I did. We had a little flirty subtext between us and when I was on my way out with my friend in there, she stopped me to give me her phone number. I invited her to come hang out with us at the bar when she got off work an hour after we left, but she never showed up. So, I decided to text her to ask if she was okay, but she didn't respond. Now that you two are here, I'm assuming something has happened." I explained.
"What time did you leave the conference?" he asked avoiding my last comment.
"Around 6. We took a cab on the way here."
"And you didn't notice anyone or anything out of the ordinary when you were talking to Chloe?"
"No, but to be fair I was a little preoccupied both times I saw her."
"Preoccupied? In what way?" asked Detective Benson.
"When I first saw her at the check-in desk, I saw a doctor that worked for another doctor I admire and I wanted to talk to him. The second time I was being pulled to the exit by my friend in there. So, besides the very brief interaction we had, I didn't notice much."
"Brief interaction, but enough to ask her out?" she questioned.
"Well detective, some things are instinctive. I thought she was pretty and I'm assuming she thought I was handsome. Doesn't take much more than that."
"Okay. Well, you're in the clear, but if you do remember anything don't hesitate to contact us." she said before handing me a card.
"Can I ask what happened to her?"
"It's better if you don't know doctor." she said before they both walked away.
'Shit. She's from the SVU. Which means Chloe was probably r***d or worse. Fuck. I need to investigate and find the piece of shit that did this.' I thought before I was snapped out of my thoughts by Marshall coming downstairs.
"Matt. Are you okay? Where are the cops?" he asked.
"They left after asking me a few questions. Don't worry I have a solid alibi they just wanted to ask me some questions about someone I interacted with at the conference."
"Phew, that's good. So what happened?"
"Nothing. They didn't tell me. But that ruined my mood. I'm going to take off. Tell Ted, Robin, and Barney I'm sorry I couldn't stay."
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, I am. Just a bit of mood ruiner. Anyways, I'll see you around. And don't hesitate to call me if something comes up with Marvin." I said before starting to walk away.
"Wait! Here is my card. Just in case you ever need a lawyer. I'm not a criminal lawyer, but I can try to help." he said while handing me his card which I took.
"Appreciate it Marshall. See you around." I said before hailing a cab to my hotel.
~~
Once I got to the hotel, I made sure as many staff as possible saw me go up to my room. After that, I called for some room service. Delivered, I put the do not disturb sign on the door. I turned on the television and made sure to put it on a channel that was having a non-stop marathon of the same show, so it would be easy to remember. I also put the volume just loud enough for it to be barely heard by the people in the next room.
'Okay, all the preparations for my alibi are done. I doubt anything will come back to me, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I'll try to be quick anyways, just in case. First, I need to go to the hotel and hack into the security cameras and review the footage. Once that's done, I'll decide what to do next.'
With the first step of the plan decided, I turned on my stealth suit. But first, I decided to use the knowledge I got from the Yautja ship to upgrade it.
'The camouflage of the ship is much more advanced than the one on their person. Though I suppose that is normal considering there is more space for a better camouflage system. Still, it's not as good as mine in terms of invisibility. But it is better when it comes to radar blocking as well as blocking other types of detection such as infrared and thermal.
Now with the technology of the Yautja and my invisibility, my stealth suit is practically untraceable in this world. Unless I bump into something like a dumbass, I'm invisible.'
Done with the upgrade, I turned on my stealth suit and made my way to the balcony. Ready, I then used my tk to fly towards the hotel where the conference was held.
