Here I am still, in the nothingness. Who knows how long it's been. Guess what you read in fanfiction is true. You can't tell if it's been an hour or if it's been years by now.
I wonder, though. Is this all that awaits my existence? Am I supposed to just wait here until my time runs out? Or is something supposed to happen?
Maybe God is real and this is my test.
...
Damn, I was kind of hoping that's when someone would pop out and say "It is a test, my son!" or something like that. Too bad it wasn't that easy. Oh well. Just have to wait.
So I did wait.
And wait.
And wait.
Until I could wait no more.
But I did.
All I could do is wait.
...
In actuality, it's only really been about an hour or so. Just got tired of waiting.
'Oh!'
Just as I couldn't wait a minute longer, I felt a pull of sorts.
'Okay! Here we go! Finally something besides just waiting!'
It's a weird feeling to describe what's happening to me. It's not a pull like you would feel if you have a body. I imagine it's what it would feel like to be held by telekinesis. Like you as a whole are being grasped and moved around.
'Whoa, this feels weird. Wait, what's being moved right now? I'm just a consciousness that exists, I don't even know if I have a form to grasp. I guess I'm a soul? But I can't feel anything reminiscent of a form or body. Don't know why it never crossed my mind to check.'
With that being said, I decided to check myself out. If I had anything to check out anyways.
I attempted to move my head when I realized I had none. I had no body or form. I just was.
'Okay. This is so trippy. I exist but I don't have a body nor a form to move.'
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
It seems like I was just a "soul" that was suspended in nothing.
It was an interesting feeling knowing you have no form but just are. Not as interesting as what happened next, however.
The pull that was on me increased and I started moving faster. Then it switched from pulling to falling. Like I was a prize in a claw machine.
'Oh shit! Wait, how am I falling? I remember reading in space there are no directions. All directions are isotropic or something like that. This means all directions are equivalent. There is no north, south, east, or west. I assumed this place would be the same.'
Yet, it seems I was wrong. Just goes to show you how little information I have about this place.
Anyways, as I fell I started to wonder what was going to happen next.
'Ooh, wonder what happens now. Hell? Heaven? God? ROB? Reincarnation? Transmigration? Anything is better than nothing. Well, that's not true. Wouldn't like it if I woke up in a bad spot. Boku no Pico, no thank you. Marvel Zombies, no thank you. Dark Multiverse DC, very much no thank you.'
'I wouldn't mind waking up in a sitcom though. Everything works itself out in some way, laugh track when I make a joke, and I'm pretty much guaranteed a girlfriend in the end. Yeah, that doesn't sound half-bad.'
Getting back from my fantasies, I noticed a dot of light in the direction I was falling.
'They always say don't go towards the light, but it seems like I have no choice. Alright, let's see what happens next.'
As I got closer to the tunnel, I started to feel more and more nervous. I mean it's one thing to fantasize about what may happen next and it's another thing altogether for it to actually happen. But no matter what occurs next, I'm up for whatever challenge is going to be presented to me. I'm going to take life by the balls and make it my bitch. Or try dying.
The light now right in front, devours me whole.
First, I feel again. I feel, not in any way that a normal person can understand. Only someone that's been a consciousness with no form can hope to. I feel myself, my physical form interacting with the world in ways that one doesn't pay attention to. The laws of physics exerting themselves on me feels like a mother's embrace. Gravity welcomes me like a babe new to the world.
Then, I think. Like my nerve cells are processing the outside information in small packages that allow for my brain to think. Clusters of nerves fire off all at once and it feels almost euphoric. A clarity attainable only by post-nut is what I would compare it to.
But I feel something else. Something that I did not have in my past life. Like a limb that's fallen asleep and is regaining feeling. Yet, the limb also feels phantom. It's there but not in the same way as my arms. It feels good. Almost as if I've been missing it my entire existence.
'I wonder what that is. Oh well, I'll figure it out later.'
I begin to feel around my body after that small euphoric high of attaining a physical form.
I feel sore and a headache starts to form as I begin to open my eyes. The starry sky is the first thing I see and by god is it beautiful.
"I'm alive. Haha. Hahahahaha! I'm fucking alive baby!" I shout with my brand new vocal cords.
"Where the hell am I though? But holy shit is that night sky a sight for sore eyes."
At this, I try to get up only to be racked by pain all over my body.
"Ughh. What the hell happened to me?"
"Matt! Matt! Are you okay?" I hear a voice shout at me with a worried tone.
I turn to look in the direction the voice came from and I see two people making their way toward me. As they get closer, I'm able to make out their faces and boy was I surprised.
Michael B. Jordan and Dane DeHaan. Together and calling me Matt. That can only mean one thing; I'm in Chronicle.
"Holy shit."
