First Step

"So, that's my backstory here, huh? I like it." I said as I finished experiencing the memories which thankfully didn't come with the emotional aspect. It would make it a lot easier to leave this world once the mission was completed.

Taking a look around where I was, I made the connection that I was in the bedroom of an apartment that the Ciri and I of this world had bought in Rome in preparation for a future Blackwatch Facility that would be built here.

'Rome. This should be some time before the Venice Incident that causes Blackwatch to become public. Good, I'd hate to be dropped right into Blackwatch being public.' I thought as I heard a door open only to see Ciri walk into the bedroom.

"So, this is what you'll look like when you're 42. I like it." she said with a seductive smile.

If I had to compare what I looked like to an actor, I would say a more attractive Chris Evans, not to toot my own horn.

"You're not bad yourself. Very MILF."

Ciri, on the other hand, looked a lot like a fan art of her birth mother that I remember seeing in my first life.

"MILF?" she asked confused before I went up and whispered it to her.

"Oh. Well, maybe in the future. Who knows what's in store for us?" she said.

"Agreed. And I'm glad the me of this world decided to grow a beard. I missed it." I said as I stroked my beard.

"Alright, you can look at yourself more in the future, let's see how the others are doing."

Matt: How's everyone doing?

Ame: Ugh, I got the short end of the stick. I'm being held captive by Talon. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Uzui: I'm with Yoruichi. She's a spirit of some sort in this world apparently.

Yoruichi: Worship me!

Guts: I'm in some place called Junkertown guarding someone called the Junker Queen.

Ciri: I'm with Matt.

Matt: Okay, hold on a second. First, let's talk about our backstories to see who is where and/or connected to what.

~

Matt: Okay, so Ciri and I are in Blackwatch and we're both connected to Overwatch. Amelia is connected to Overwatch through Tracer and Talon because she is currently being held captive by them. Uzui is connected to the Shimada Clan because he was Hanzo's bodyguard and grew up with them. Yoruichi is a spirit who is with Uzui right now. And lastly, Guts is connected to Junkertown.

Amelia: Wow, we've pretty much covered all important factions in Overwatch.

Matt: Except for Null Sector, but they have to have some contact with Talon. We just need to find it.

Yoruichi: What's Null Sector?

Amelia: Another terrorist group, but one made up of Omnics. They want to create an Omnic nation, I think. But they should lay low for now. The first time they really strike is during the King's Row Incident.

Matt: As far as we know. In my memories, there's already been some talk about them. Nothing too major just fringe groups and some small connections to Talon. But my best guess for the Second Omnic Crisis starting is Null Sector.

Ciri: Makes sense. They want to free their kind and going to war is the best way.

Guts: But the Second Omnic Crisis is optional. And far off.

Uzui: Hey, I want all the rewards!

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Guts: So do I, but we should focus on the main objective for now.

Matt: He's right. Preventing the fall of Overwatch is our main priority.

Yoruichi: Ame said that the organization started spiraling out of control once Blackwatch was exposed.

Amelia: Yup. The Venice Incident is the main factor for that. That incident causes the public to come to know about Blackwatch and with the pressure from the media, they're investigated. That then leads multiple governments to pressure the UN to shut down Blackwatch. And because of Blackwatch being sidelined, some people within the organization wanted to take over Overwatch causing even more internal problems. In the end, it all leads to the UN shutting down Overwatch and the Petras Act coming to fruition, deeming any Overwatch activity illegal.

Uzui: So, Matt and Ciri are the ones who are going to be doing most of the heavy lifting?

Yoruichi: Seems that way.

Matt: Amelia as well. She's the one that's with Talon who are the main perpetrators for most of the upcoming events. Like the attack on the Oslo Facilities that kill Liao and that lead Blackwatch to do the Venice Incident.

Amelia: Why don't you and Ciri pop on over? You can hack the Talon database with your nanites without anyone knowing. That way we'll find out a lot about Talon and we can start making a plan to take them down.

Ciri: That sounds like a good idea.

Matt: Agreed. Okay, let's do that. Once we're back we'll start thinking up other plans.

"Okay, let me coat us both with my stealth nanites first." I said before Ciri walked up to me and hopped on my back.

"Go, noble steed!"

"Uh, why don't I just hold on to you?"

"Because that's no fun. Come on, it'll still work."

"Fine. But try not to move too much, my nanites don't work as well when they're on someone else. Also, let's communicate through the DGC from now on." I said shaking my head with a smile as I coated us both with stealth nanites.

'Alright, teleport us to Ame.'

'Roger, hold on.'

SWISH

The next moment we were in a barebones room that looked like a college dorm with a bed, a toilet, and a desk. On the bed was Amelia lying down with her eyes closed.

I could feel that there were cameras in the room so I sent a message to Ame telling her we were in the room but not to react. I also asked her to use her Observation Haki to check if there was anyone in the hallway, to which she said there wasn't.

'Okay, Ame said there's no one in the hallways. I'll make the cameras go dark for a few seconds, open the door, slip out, and put everything back the way it was.'

'Got it. Also, whatever shampoo you use in this world, take some when you leave. You smell good.'

'Okay, note taken.'

Using my limited-range technopathy on the cameras in the room and the ones in the hallway, I made them go on the fritz while I opened the door and slipped out before returning them to normal.

Taking a minute to make sure nothing went wrong, I then used my TK to levitate so as not to make any noise before flying toward the end of the hallway. The hallway ended in a T but using my nanites to sense the technology, I could feel that there was a bigger response from the left so I went that way.

After meandering through a few hallways, and a few close calls with some goons that we dodged by floating close to the ceiling, we could finally see a server room.

'This should be the place. They might have special computers that are on their own dedicated servers, which I don't doubt considering the types of secrets that they're hiding, but we should be able to get a lot of information.'

'Okay, I'll keep a lookout.'

Flying up to the door, I could see that it was much more heavily guarded and had better security than any of the others we had seen which would make it more difficult. The goons, not the security system which I could hack with ease.

'How should I do this?'

'Why don't you use your TK to kill them but hold them steady so they don't attract suspicion?'

'And after? They'll know someone infiltrated and they might change their plans. Can't take that risk. Even though we could just infiltrate again, it would be more work that we can avoid.'

'Why don't you use your nen? You took Azar's memories forcefully, can't you use it to control their mind?'

'I've thought about that before but I haven't had the time to come up with the technique nor how to go about doing it. I also don't want to risk it.'

At that moment, the guard on the left's communication device rang before he was told they had to report somewhere, leaving the door unguarded.

'Okay then. Thank you Lady Luck.'

'Alright, hurry.'

Again making sure all the cameras were on the fritz, I communicated with the security system, opened the door, slipped in, and returned everything back to normal.

'Phew, these servers look super advanced. I can't wait to take all this world's tech for myself.'

'You should get a title called Interdimensional Thief for how much you steal from other worlds.'

'Too bad no one knows I do or I might have already gotten that title. God that's such a cool title.'

Snapping out of my thoughts, I started touching each server rack before reading all the data that was stored. After 30 minutes of touching all the servers, I was finally done.

'So?'

'It's a lot.'

The amount of information that I had received from the servers was enough for me to realize that Overwatch and Blackwatch were underestimating Talon. The number of connections and people that were affiliated with Talon was enough to bring down nations. Politicians, businessmen, key-infrastructure workers, etc.

'Let's go.'

'We're not going to search for the leader's computer?'

'He was connected to these servers, I got his data.'

'Okay, hold on.'
