Chapter 81 - The Conclusion

“Get us out of here, right now!” Boss Vage demanded of his underling.

“I’ll try.” Perceiving the incoming army of reinforcements rushing through the shattered dome, Tor Eyes took out his damaged Blue Kismet Coin and flipped it. It failed to work the first time which made Boss Vage very alarmed. However, it worked the second time he flipped it.

Multiple azure portals appeared which sucked in all the remaining members of the Vage Gang. They vanished out of sight just as Principal Magnum Opus and his retinue arrived. Looking at the destruction left behind, he asked, “What happened here?”

“Principal, over there!” A fellow member of staff pointed at a smoking red silhouette that was levitating in the centre of the mountain. They felt such fear looking at it.

“That’s…” Magnum Opus knew right away who it was from the potent energy signature. “Something terrible must have happened here for him to be so agitated.”

“Senior!” The principal flew over to where Jin Hennessy was overheating while the campus guards went to check on the injured students standing below.

Xuan Li had the most injuries because he had to constantly protect Vor Eyes and Sugar Bun while they were trapped inside the dimensional rift of monstrous crocs. Dam Son wasn’t there with them, he was levitating above on his sapphire suitcase by Jin Hennessy’s side. They were having a private conversation up there, thus no one intervened.

“Senior brother.” The principal made it to where Jin Hennessy was. “I spotted Diceman on my way over here. Please tell me what happen?”

“Let me cool off first.” Jin Hennessy went for a dip inside the pool below. The Sea of Verbs helped him regain his depleted stamina. Afterwards, he called Magnum Opus and Dam Son over and generated a soundproof barrier for them to speak freely. Jin Hennessy told the principal everything that transpired including the Black Kismet Coin currently in Dam Son’s possession. This information had to be kept secret, otherwise, rivalling territories would invade if they knew.

Soon as they finished conversing, Magnum Opus ordered the academy’s enforcers to raid Boss Vage’s underground lair. They only managed to apprehend a few stragglers who got left behind; all of the important figures and vital experimental data had already been transported to an undisclosed location.

Later that day after the incident calmed down, Magnum Opus requested a private audience with everyone involved. He questioned each of them simultaneously, out of the students, Vor Eyes received more attention due to him being related to the main culprit who almost destroyed Raixom Academy using innumerable rifts. Corroborating each of their story, the principal found Vor Eyes to be innocent. Before he ended his debriefing with the students, he told them not to let their conversation leave the room, especially the part about the Abyss Beasts and Kismet Coins. He also applied a stronger seal on Dam Son’s Abyss Script; with this in effect, the Kismet Coins on his forehead were no longer visible.

Leaving the principal’s office, the students let out a deep sigh of relief, they thought for sure that they were going to be in big trouble. Jin Hennessy stayed behind to speak further with his younger fellow disciple. They conversed about a particular event that happened in the past which might have led to Diceman, a sagacious intellectual; turning into Boss Vage, a savage gangster.

During all of the commotion circulating Raixom Academy, nobody spoke of Cinder Burn who was actually the first responder to alert the campus enforcers of the Vage Gang’s hideout. She was left out; completely forgotten. Dam Son, Xuan Li, Sugar Bun, Vor Eyes along with Jin Hennessy were the main topic rolling off everyone’s tongues. Especially Dam Son for having stood up to the Vage Gang and won without the aid of any Guide.

……

Currently, elsewhere at an undisclosed location, the remnants of the Vage Gang were standing disorganized in an enclosed space. The expression on their faces was one of great discomfort. They had failed miserably in their task to capture, Dam Son. Now that they had been found out, they couldn’t act carelessly again. They had to bide their time and wait for an opportunity to snatch Dam Son’s Abyss Script.

Boss Vage went over to where the research department was currently gathered and questioned an old friend. “Professor Oreo, what is your analysis of our current predicament, do you think we can still operate as before?”

Professor Oreo stated, “We’re in a complicated spot here. Though we’ve managed to salvage most of the research data along with a few important equipments, our production of *you know what* is currently on hold. With most of the important specimens lost or destroyed coupled with our failure to retrieve the Abyss Script and the Abyss Beast, it will be difficult to get production back on track as it used to.”

Boss Vage processed what he heard then responded, “What about your duplication of the original Abyss Script from that brat’s Guide?”

“The download process was incomplete. I was only able to copy close to 70%.”

“70%? Hmm, there should be enough genetic information to formulate an inferior duplicate. We can use this partial data to stabilize the inconstant reaction that regularly occurs during the activation process of the artificially generated Kismet Coins.”

“What you suggest might just work, sir.”

“Good, then get to it right away. The sooner we increase production, the sooner we can regain our losses.” Boss Vage reflected on the unpredictable proceedings that occurred at Raixom Academy which caused his research to hit a major snag. He blamed Tor Eyes for messing everything up. “I have a strict punishment set out for that disobedient subordinate of mine.”

The next day at Caromine Institute, Dam Son’s crew became the talk of every student. They became famous for exposing the sinister Vage Gang which plagued the underground of Raixom Academy.

Dam Son wasn’t used to all the attention he was getting. It was more than when he defeated Red Bull at the Page Coliseum. Both of them had a rematch still pending. On his way to Ms Enjoy’s classroom, a few hot babes approached and congratulate him, but we all know what they were truly after. They wanted to leech on Dam Son’s spotlight of fame.

Observing the increasing commotion from a hidden distance, Cinder Burn felt jealous of Dam Son's achievements. “It hadn’t been that long since he enrolled at the academy, yet everyone is all over his pampered ass. God, I hate that annoying son of a gun. He’s not the only one who can fight well without depending on a Guide. Very soon I’ll get back at him for overshadowing my awesomeness. Just you wait and see.”

“Who are you talking to, Cinder Burn?” Trish came along and interrupted Cinder Burn from glaring death at Dam Son. She didn’t respond to the inquiry, however, Trish could tell what she was upset about. Together they went to class looking displeased and dejected.
