Chapter 29 - Introduction To Word Mage Mastery

“We’re here.” Ms Enjoy brought her students into a spacious edifice within Caromine Institute where numerous magical enchantments were floating about. Multiple veneer stairways led towards higher floors where separate mage classes were being held. At the dead centre of the room, a large ethereal tube was present. Within it hosted liquefied elements of various Letter Forces.

The students were in awe of this magical institute. Their eyes or perception centre couldn’t get enough of their surroundings. Dam Son was the most mind-blown individual in the group. “This is the place where Mage Mastery is taught…? So beautiful.” His face portrayed his elated nature.

“Hey, look at that over there.” Balloona directed her friend’s gaze towards a vast chalice in the corner. What encouraged their amazement was the ocean of eternal flame burning within it. “Teacher, what is that large pot of fire used for.”

“All your questions will be answered once you’ve grown accustomed to Word Mage Mastery.” Teacher Enjoy didn’t elaborate more on the subject. She regained the attention of her students then led them further inside the edifice.

“As you can see, they are multiple floors within this establishment. Each floor contains its own specific curriculum of Word Mage Mastery. Aside from gaining special privileges, only the senior students are allowed access to the higher floors. For the time being, your classes will be held on the bottom floor. Let me introduce you to your teacher.”

Ms Enjoy brought the students into a decorative classroom of magical allure. An elderly man was standing in the dead centre with the aid of his brush-shaped cane. His head was completely bald; not a strand showed itself. Upon the nakedness of his skull, one could make out 9 distinctive dots. Leading from the saggy contours of his crusty cheeks was a thick long beard of crimson hue. His entire chin and lips along with his philtrum were hidden underneath aged follicles. As for his garbs, they were simplistic, yet they possessed the elegance of a sage. With his squinted eyes now welcoming the arrival of the students, his gaze almost seemed void of any target.

The elder’s lips finally came asunder, allowing words to slip through. “Oh, this old man is already pleased by your punctuality. The lessons weren’t set to commence until several more minutes. Did something happen?”

Ms Enjoy steered closer towards the elder while answering: “Our early arrival is all thanks to Ms Ever Moist’s brief lesson. I hope you don’t mind, Elder Shao Lin.”

With a curt bow, the elder responded: “Not at all. I’m glad you came early. This just means that I can teach these youngsters more than the usually planned period.”

“I’m glad to hear that. Now everyone, let me introduce you to your Word Mage instructor.” Ms Enjoy stood beside the dignified elder whose questionable height reached her midriff. “This person here is known as, Elder Shao Lin. He is well versed in the arts of Word Mage Mastery. I believe you will all learn a lot from him.”

The students gave their respectful salutations. “Greetings to teacher Shao Lin!”

“These youngsters are quite boisterous. Ahem…” After reciprocating the students’ formal welcome, Elder Shao Lin cleared his throat and spoke. “Please take a seat in the corner. Once you’ve all settled, I will commence the introductory lessons.”

“Yes, sir.” Dam Son followed the group towards the spacious seating area in the corner. The middle portion of the classroom was left empty for magical demonstrations among other purposes.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Ahem …” Verifying that the students were all seated, Elder Shao Lin centred himself; positioned an audible Verb Script near his mouth to slightly boost his soft voice.

“Ahem, for our introductory lessons today I’m hoping to cover the following topics.” With a simple stamp of his support stick, Elder Shao Lin called forth many floating letters which formed the following words in hierarchical order: Word Mage Fundamentals, Magical Trinkets, and lastly, Mage Script Execution.

“I will now dive right into the fundamentals of Word Mage Mastery. How many of you were actually aware that unlike Word Augmenter and Word Fu Mastery, Wordsmith Mastery shares a close semblance with Word Mage Mastery?”

“I do, teacher.” Only a few hands were raised.

“To explain the relationships of these Masteries will require more indebt knowledge of the subjects. Just like Wordsmiths, Word Mages are creators who utilize existing elements to bring new forces to life. The two masteries are inextricably linked. What slightly separates the two are their method of execution and application. Wordsmiths are meticulous masters who utilize a vast array of knowledge to, refine, craft or analyse objects. They set the foundation for Word Mage’s existence. Without properly crafted Mage Scripts, moreover, the required Magic Powered Letters to activate same Mage Script then Word Mage Mastery would still remain a myth.”

“The key terminology that I’m trying to convey to you all is that Word Mage Mastery was derived from Wordsmith Mastery. The same could be said about the other Word Masteries. Wordsmiths plays a fundamental role in all of the above.”

As they listened to Elder Shao Lin’s lecture, many students were flabbergasted by what they learned. “I never knew that Wordsmiths were so important to the other Word Masteries.”

“Me neither. I thought Wordsmiths were only book-nerds who lack power.”

“You two are so dumb. Ha-ha-ha.” A snobby student at the forefront of the class mocked his dunce peers. “I knew long ago that Wordsmiths were at the core of all Word Masteries. I mean just think about it… without refined Mundane Letters then Powered Letters wouldn’t exist. So it stands to reason that if we want to drastically excel in all Word Masteries then being an adept Wordsmith is a must. You simpletons can’t even figure this out?”

“Who the heck is that kid?” Xuan Li who felt insulted by the snobby boy's tone asked his close classmates about him.

“That egotistical snob is named, Babe Blade. He’s a scion from an influential family here in Raixom. I think his parents are some elite who are affiliated with the W.B.S.R (World Bureau of Script Regulation)”

The Snobby youth who was briefly the centre of attention was unfazed by the penetrating gazes of his offended classmates; mainly due to his potent hubris that permeated his effeminate complex. He relaxed boastfully with his folding hand fan cooling his suave face.

Babe Blade possessed the slender figure of a delicate woman. His light hair was groomed long enough to caress the sleek curvatures of his jawlines. He wore matching apparel similar to his pale tresses. With a minimal movement of grace, his prideful demeanour was revealed.

“Huh?” Perceiving the incessant snare of his peers, the snobby youth spared them a few words. “Am I the teacher of this lesson? I know that I’m very attractive but this intense eye rape needs to stop. Focus on the elder over there.” Finished speaking, Babe Blade continued to ignore his jealous classmates and paid attention to his lectures as an astute student would. His condescending act of verbal reprisal incurred more derision from his classmates.

“Ahem… look ahead, students.” Elder Shao Lin garnered the attention of the students once more by clearing a non-existent blockage from his throat. His intervention quickly mitigated the brewing argument among his students. “Now where was I…?”

After recollecting where his lesson had halted, Elder Shao Lin continued. “Yes, I was discussing the fundamentals of Word Mage Mastery. As I’ve said earlier, Wordsmiths and Word Mages share a close relationship. The specific method of their separate nature would be their method of application which consist of unique script formation and Magic Powered Letters. In the past, some scholars even disputed whether or not Word Mages should differ from Wordsmiths. But for the sake of breakage and classification. This dispute was settled years ago. Here is a visual depiction to let your minds ascertain better.”

Still holding the focus of the class, Elder Shao Lin positioned his brush-shaped cane before him. “What I will now demonstrate consists of the later topics of the introductory lessons. Magic Script Execution achieved by a Magical Trinket.”
