Chapter 34 - Getting Acquainted With Jin Hennessy

Dam Son accompanied by his newly acquainted classmates was surfing the air currents of visible wind towards a towering mountain peak in the northeast region of Raixom Academy. Their destination was none other than the very same residence of Jin Hennessy.

Though he received definite proof earlier, Xuan Li was still sceptical of Dam Son’s prowess. “Hey, we’ve come a long way from Caromine Institute. Are you sure that there is a powerful Word Fu Master dwelling on that mountain peak?”

“I told you already, didn’t I? That mountain is where he resides. I’m not sure if he’s still there at this hour, but it doesn’t hurt to look. Come on!” Dam Son accelerated his sapphire suitcase’s velocity.

“Don’t leave me behind!” Sugar Bun sped up his aerial script to catch up with Xuan Li and Dam Son.

In the late afternoon, they arrived at an expansive mountain range where a towering stairway was present. Dam Son led them directly to the top.

At that very moment, Jin Hennessy was madly searching his shed for stashed bottles of wine; so far, to no avail. “Where are they? This can’t be happening! I was just about to reach the height of my life and somehow I ran out of liquor? What utter nonsense!” He scratched his unkempt sideburns as he returned to his search.

Dam Son arrived just in time to witness multiple empty wine bottles being tossed out of the shed; shattering as they hit the ground. “Hm, is the old drunkard upset?” Dam Son was slightly hesitant to approach the shed, but he eventually mustered the courage to do so after taking a gander at Xuan Li and Sugar Bun who was watching from behind.

“You two, wait here. I’ll be right back.” Dam Son abandoned his classmates to venture closer to the shed. He approached with extreme caution; tipping on his toes. “Hey, elder are you in there?” He said with a slight shake of his voice.

Instead of a verbal reply, Dam Son noticed 2 empty bottles heading toward his face! He quickly dodged them both. “Whew, those almost crashed into my face.” After recalibrating his bearing, Dam Son poked his head inside the shed which led him to discover Jin Hennessy’s rumbustious back.

“Hey, mister. Sorry for intruding, but I brought some friends over that I would like for you to…”

“Huh?” Jin Hennessy just now made form of Dam Son’s intruding presence near the entrance of his liquor shed. He didn’t hear what he said just now about bringing friends over. Jin Hennessy was simply startled by Dam Son’s appearance.

“Brat! You again??? I thought I told you to never come back here on my mountain!” Jin Hennessy’s upset voice reverberated throughout the shed.

“No, that’s not what you told me the last time we spoke.” Dam Son responded while executing various hand gestures: “After you wrap this cloth around my forehead, you told me to never remove it. Then you said that I should come back later if I want to find out more about the black coins. After that, you forcefully kicked me off this mountain.”

“Hm…” Jin Hennessy’s memories refreshed. How could he forget the intrusive cloaked individuals who barged atop his mountain earlier that day? “Yes, thanks for reminding me brat. When you reach my age you won’t be able to remember every little insignificant detail.”

“By the way, how old are you, mister?”

“What? You damn brat! You dare ask me about my age?” Jin Hennessy felt offended. “Have you no respect for this old man?”

Dam Son felt confused. “Ahm, but I was just curious. You’re the one who mentioned me reaching your age so I thought…”

“Enough! Get out of my shed you disrespectful runt.” With a flick of his crusty toes, Jin Hennessy kicked the pesky Dark-Human out of his liquor storage facility.

“Ouch!” Dam Son crashed into shattered wine bottles outside. Because of his unique avatar, his skin withstood getting pierced.

“Huh? What happened?” Sugar Bun rushed over after seeing Dam Son fly out of the shed and land on his rear. “Let me help you up.”

“Thanks.”

“Huh? What’s this?” Jin Hennessy almost had a heart attack when he perceived Sugar Bun’s portly figure helping Dam Son to his feet. He stormed out of the shed looking menacing. Another surprise greeted him as soon as he stepped outside. He spotted another uninvited guest from the corner of his eyes.

“Two extra brats?” Jin Hennessy glared at Dam Son with baleful intensity. “Did these brats come here with you?”

Finally reaching to his feet, Dam Son answered truthfully. “Yes, elder. I was the one who brought them to meet you.”

“And why would you do such a disrespectful thing? Tell me!”

“Ahm, the thing his…” Dam Son explained their situation to Jin Hennessy. He told him about the relations within Caromine Institute and about them not having a suitable facility for fostering Word Fu Mastery. He also told him that he had recognized his peerless abilities. “This is why I brought them with me today, mister. I was hoping that you would be willing to teach us the Art of Word Fu Mastery.”

“Nonsense!” Jin Hennessy’s striking voice almost blew away the students' eardrums.

“Mister, you’re not upset, are you?”

“Look at my damn face real good. Does this looks like I am upset?” Jin Hennessy’s face possessed the eerie nature of a thousand vipers. It was next to impossible for someone not to see that he was veritably upset.

“You do look upset, mister. But why?”

“But why?” Jin Hennessy couldn’t believe the nonsense he was hearing. He cursed several more times at Dam Son “You stinking brat… don’t you understand the level of disrespect that you’ve just shown me? First, you barged onto my mountain unannounced; secondly, you came with strangers, and now you are requesting for me to teach you smelly brats about Word Fu? Since when have we become this close?”

“But mister, I…”

“Shut up! Leave here at once! And take your retinue with you!” Jin Hennessy began shoving Dam Son towards the exit. “You 2, go along with him!”

“But, sir. We came here in need of your guidance.” Sugar Bun gave some resistance to leaving.

Xuan Li wasn’t like them. Instead of allowing himself to be shoved towards the exit, he willingly complied to leave the mountain. However, he made sure to pass on his opinion to Dam Son. “This was a big waste of time coming here. I’ve already finished sizing up this geezer. He doesn’t look like much of a master to me. He’s a decrepit old fool. Both of you stop fussing and let’s leave quietly.”

“What did that brat just call me?” Jin Hennessy heard full well the derogatory words that spat out of Xuan Li’s mouth and was utterly offended. “Hold it right there you ill-mannered brat! I shall not allow you to leave this mountain until you give me a proper apology!” As if he was a cool breeze, Jin Hennessy quickly advanced before Xuan Li.

“Tsk, and who’s going to stop me, you?” Xuan Li gave his insulting tongue to Jin Hennessy. “Listen here old man, you’re nothing special like what the Dark-Human told me. You should count yourself lucky that I don’t beat on old men, otherwise, you would have already received an early funeral for blocking my path.”

“What bold speech this smelly brat has.” Jin Hennessy folded his hands underneath his chest. He dared not move from in front of Xuan Li. “Let me see just how you will discipline me today, youngster.”

“Hey, Xuan Li don’t do anything stupid. You’re no match for him.” Dam Son tried to warn his haughty classmate, but he would not listen.

“Hey, geezer. This is your last warning. Get out of my way or else I will force you.” His glare was intense.

“Oh, such a fierce look in those eyes of yours. That would be enough to scare away a mouse, but certainly, you don’t expect it to work on me?”

“You asked for this old man!”

“Hey, stop it!” Dam Son rushed ahead, trying to prevent Xuan Li from attacking the elder, however, he was too late.

Out of the blue, Xuan Li found himself soaring dozens of metres above ground level. “How is this possible?” He had no idea how he got to that height.

Below, Jin Hennessy was standing firmly with only his right leg raised to the sky. He glanced above where Xuan Li was rising and spoke mockingly. “Oh my, mister big bad lip can’t even withstand a blow from my big toe, yet you dare to speak so arrogantly before me, damn brat!”

“What was that I witnessed just now?” Sugar Bun was mind-blown as he reflected on how Xuan Li got blasted into mid-air. “I definitely saw that right, didn’t I? Earlier, as Xuan Li’s left thrust was about to knock that geezer out cold, he did a simple sidestep which should have been impossible from that distance. Yet, the most shocking thing was the mysterious way by which he got his right leg to bend like that. If I didn’t possess the innate Eyes of Turtle, I would have missed that bizarre motion he did with his leg. It was as if his right leg transformed into a flexible snake for a moment. It slithered its way towards Xuan Li’s chin at a frightening resonance then clobbered him high into the air.”

“Huh, you saw all that within a split second?” When Dam Son overhead Sugar Bun’s analysis, he was quite amazed for he didn’t see anything that took place earlier. All he saw was the moment Xuan Li rose into the air.
