It had to be said that this wasn't exactly Creed's first rodeo on Comic-Con. Creed Comics had sent representatives last year. However, they were pretty much just a little panel that held a reputation of holding on to booming comic titles that had just recently grown in popularity!
It was way different now though... as that early reputation had quickly risen to become an established brand.
It even had a much-overwhelming reach in other fields compared to its senior comic publishers.
Its comic books were amazing enough but with toys and an extremely recent and extremely popular sci-fi, time-travel movie under its belt... Creed was pretty much one of the biggest attractions of this year's Comic-Con.
It was still disconcerting how it had grown way too big from how it was at last year's convention!
Anyways, with that 'limited edition' and 'boss' bombshell being unknowingly dropped... chaos had pretty much ensued.
Of course, that was only in terms of buyers asking the representative about which was which. Making a noisy flea market-esque scenario in the whole place.
Granted, that for a split second there... these poor Creed representatives really thought that they'd have a riot and rumble in their hands!
With Creed's track record of rousing the wide nerd and geek community, it was natural that it would translate to the biggest event that would house the biggest nerds and biggest geeks!
With Creed in Comic-Con, how could the event organizers have expected less?
Fortunately, everything was still manageable and they had prepared themselves for such a possibility as well.
Comic-Con must have had a lot of experiences with this over-enthusiasm... that Comic-Con regulars and the event organizers were able to make a chaotic-orderly environment like this.
Whatever the case was, Creed representatives in their respective assignments were still on the busy side of things.
After all, with the noise that they've made... the rest of the tight-knit convention should have been attracted to this place as well. Making them a concentration spot for these fans to go to.
In any case, the convention along with Creed Entertainment had pretty much prepared to cater to the expected thousands of attendees per day or the expected 6,000 expected attendees that would be here throughout this 4-day event!
------
As everything may have started out from the Dragonball booth... it had quickly grown to the other Creed booths as well.
'Fanboy' felt a bit of guilt as he could be considered responsible for all this chaotically-organized mess. People were pretty much trying to grab hold of the thing they believed to be the rare toy.
Then again, that could have been just regret now... as people were trying to snatch up what could be snatched up and he was only one person against the lot of them.
With Comic-Con exclusive toys in the Dragonball section, it made sense for there to be exclusive toys in the other ones as well.
'Fanboy' had pretty much accepted defeat in owning a lot of these limited production toy designs though... and was just trying to swap up what he felt was worthwhile for him.
As the blabbing representative had said... it was about getting lucky or using your 'smarts'.
In that case, he might as well just take a step back and not be caught up in the crowd.
He had done a lot of that since getting here and it was high time that he ride the waves as he wished.
With that decided, 'Fanboy' just opted to explore what he could explore.
The Creed Toys selection was not just about Dragonballs as there were a lot of other toys to be awed about!
-----
Not far from the Dragonball-specifics... was, of course, the TMNT selection!
Like Goku, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has made its strides in storytelling as well.
What's new in the toy selection is a number of villains... and if people were to think wisely of it, it would be one of these that would be quite rare!
From the Turtles to the Foot clan goons, these were the toys that had been quite numerous and overly ubiquitous in stores.
To add to that, there are major to flat-out minor and unnamed New York goons that the Turtles beat up in their day's work.
They were pretty much given toy versions that were being displayed at this convention.
The more standoffish and fleshed-out characters like Shredder aside, these no-names were kinds of character toys that had less appeal though. It would make sense that they were the ones that would only matter when made rare.
Nerds and geeky fanboys were stereotypes but they were mostly smart people, so it was easy for them to see this exploitative logic.
As smart as they were... you would expect them to move away from buying a toy that doesn't even have much appeal!
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
However, they were actually the ones that grabbed up these unnamed goons quickly to be bought for themselves
As smart as they were... they were suckers as well!
Anyways, what's another thing to note from the TMNT booth, is, of course, the centerpiece-d television set.
It may not have a cool Gorilla Goku accessory but the TMNT television still irked people's curiosity for what it held.
With both Dragonball and TMNT having television as part of their booth design... what was Creed plotting with it?
-----
Anyways, the rest of the Creed title may not have that mysterious TV thing but that didn't make them any less traffick-ed by these passionate Comic-Con attendees.
The ThunderCats detailed figurines had more anthropomorphic characters in their selection and their high-detail and synchronized specs made each of them complementary to the other.
It made those that had the early ThunderCats figurine... pretty much have to add these new ones to their collection.
Collectors are collectors for a reason and aesthetically pleasing and coherent set pieces are must-haves.
Of course, with the bombshell of limited-ly produced designs... it made the collectors all the more motivated!
-----
This collector-inducing passion pretty much extends to the rest as well.
RoboCop's police cyborg story had progressed as well and its toy selection has grown along with it.
The RoboCop booth had pretty much made a showing of Alex Murphy's progression from his scrappy first iteration until the latest version that the story had to offer.
Of course, they had RoboCop toys that depict his beaten, broken, and blackened look as well.
It was a pretty detailed description with the loss of robotic limbs and charred-up robo-parts.
Anyone smart enough would know that these were hard to make and pretty much one of the Comic-Con exclusive toys that Creed had advertised.
Then, there were the awaited ED209 toys too. It wasn't available at the first RoboCop toy release and it was quite pleasing to finally see them now.
There were multiple mini-version ED209 that don't really fit the main RoboCop toy size... they didn't fit the signature size coherence but they had articulation and movement to fit their robot-ic nature.
Of course, there were the size coherent versions as well but they were relatively bulky and big.
These kinds of toys were pretty much transparently advertised to be the limited ones as their complexity all the more made them hard to reproduce in great quantities.
Not that far apart and not that progressive as its "versus" nemesis, the Predator toy line, had pretty much been stagnant due to its 3-piece Halloween storyline being its main source.
That may not stay that way for long as October was not too far away... and the Predator booth had a couple of toys that stood out from the prevailing Predator toys.
Its masked and overall design was completely distinct from the visage of the first predator that they know.
It was a completely menacing toy like the first one but this new Predator seems to have much more ferocity to it!
There was no doubt in people's minds that this was the next Predator and pretty much a spoiler for the upcoming Predator story.
It perfectly set up for what's coming next... but it made them all look forward to grabbing the Volume Book that would tell this specific Predator's story.
Predator lore was going to grow and horror fans at this convention were excited about it!
-----
Further down the toy display was, of course, the most dominant toy under the Creed Toys label!
Even without its originating comic book story, Cybertronian toys could still pretty much dominate the toy industry.
A car that can transform into a robot and vice versa. What car-lover or robot-lover would miss out on that?
With the story moving forward from its Earth-centric first arc, new Cybertronians and their battle in the vast expanse of the cosmos were going to be told and documented.
New Autobots and Decepticons were introduced... and the advanced toys in the Cybertronian Chronicles booth were the physical manifestations of them!
Oh... how satisfying they are when you transform them into their automobile counterparts and how satisfying it is to turn them back!
There was no need for a "limited" label for people to snag them up... because Cybertronian toys were just that sought after!
------
As 'Fanboy' traversed these upgraded and kitted-up toylines... he was already spoiled for choice.
It had to be noted... that these were just the relatively "old" ones with pre-existing toylines.
He was all the more looking forward to the new stories that have yet to showcase their own.
What he was sure of… was that Creed Toys wouldn't disappoint!
