Alexander Creed: Re-Life
Chapter 141: New CREED

Chapter 141: New CREED

As the old Creed HQ closed down, a new Creed HQ is set to be the next one.

Fortunately, Old Sullivan already had his eyes set on a new headquarters since November of last year.

As Alexander had already paid a visit to the old one during its final days, it was in due time that he was supposed to inspect the new one.

-----

Together with old Sullivan, Alexander did just that as they gazed at the new building just when they were at the forefront of it.

"It's kinda big and it's kinda small than how I imagined it to be, grandpa." The boy commented as he gazed at the six-story building with its monotone prism-ness and the sparing but well-spaced out windows.

"How so?"

"It's bigger than the last one, that's for sure." Alexander nodded while voicing out. "However, would it be enough when considering the various fields that we're trying to fit inside of it?"

"This place is more than double the spacing that your old place can afford and triple the available floors, so it is bigger without a doubt." Sullivan chuckled and didn't dive much deeper into numerical schematics.

"As for fitting everything together..." Old Creed practiced intrigue. "... you'll find out just how compressed that this grandpa has gone. Besides, this isn't the only building we are visiting today."

Alexander couldn't really be bothered with his grandfather's roundabout way of doing things but since they were touring the new place anyway, it should be guaranteed for him to know all he needed to know by the end of the day.

"By the way, what's with the "Daily Valley" on the building sign? Does it belong to the company who used it before?" The boy pointed out while wanting to dig further into the origin of the place.

Since the entire place was in between the San Fernando and Burbank area, Alexander did have some bit of recollection of the place.

At some point in the 1990s, it did become an investor and trade congregation but it would seem that the Creed intervention put a hamper to that.

However, he really didn't know what it was before that, so "Daily Valley" was his only clue.

"That thing or this entire place used to belong to a newsprint company. That sign is the name of their publication but it hasn't been doing quite well at all." Sullivan could only feel pity for the old owner. He wasn't a friend like old Williams but he was still an acquaintance that he met from time to time.

Alexander was really quite more uncaring towards everything when he was younger and before all the re-life stuff happened, so he hadn't even noticed that San Fernando Valley had its version of the Daily Bugle.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

Anyways, his curiosity has been sated and he can't help but ask. "Will we be keeping the sign, then? It isn't our usual 'creed' to not use the family legacy and surname towards everything."

"Of course, that would be changed to CREED with all caps." Old Sullivan was quite happy with that naming he was going for and he turned to his grandson with pride. "What do you think? Isn't the name quite cool?"

"Sure sure." It was all that Alexander could say as his new century's 'store sweet store' was brought up quite earlier. He really couldn't say cringe to his grandfather's naming sense as they had the same taste.

CREED was cool and the old and young Creed duo had no qualms with it.

-----

The visitation went on and Alexander was briefed in with the progress of how things came to be so far.

The new place wasn't anything fancy but its relative simplicity should do well for how it would be utilized.

They planned for many of the Creed businesses to be convened in one spot after all.

Since the deal was settled just recently in December, a lot of renovators and handymen were hard at work to fulfill the old Creed's vision for the place.

The newsprint owner wasn't anything like old Mr. Williams in the animation business but his local publication wasn't just competitive enough to stay afloat.

Still, the deal was made given the dire situation of the owner and the steady timeliness of the buyer.

The 8 million dollar purchase wasn't anything to scoff at this time period due to the price of the dollar and cheapness of most 80s commodities.

However, given the big spending capital that Creed Entertainment had allocated for everything, it was just a considerable portion in the bucket.

The rent option was out of the question as the envious, feng shui enthusiast of the last HQ building owner was a lesson on what not to do. If Creed Entertainment really does make it big, then the hiking up of prices might be an eventuality.

Being an advocate of spending big at first to escape the price ballooning of tomorrow, Sullivan didn't hesitate to pay upfront.

In any case, after the purchase was done, the renovation work and the refitting was what followed.

A lot of prep work had already been done since then but the build-up to making it fit multiple businesses was a long endeavor.

----

The first floor was the first as always with the place being designated for the eating area to accommodate employees as the Creed's previously had.

The place was even spacious enough that a timely lounge and other amenities were put into account and already in place.

Even Alexander was quite surprised by the welcoming business feel of the place as it would seem that receptionists and the like were now in their possible employees.

"You sure have a thing for eating or accomodating the eating and leisure of your employees, grandpa." Of course, Alexander can't help but point towards a well-furnished area of dining tables. It was arranged quite nicely that his eyes were quite drawn towards it.

Sullivan had no refute to that as he added. "I'm even considering kitchens and cooking accommodations, in case that we cater and all that "

It was best to have the old Creed have his way as Alexander really doesn't have much to complain towards the cafe area. It was quite Korean-esque in his opinion but it was quite fitting with all that was going on on this first floor.

There also seems to be a supply room for most of the extra necessities that could be kept accordingly with papers, inks, color, and whatnot.

It would mostly be hidden and compacted accordingly though as to not destroy the design for the lounge hall and the well-crafted table arrangements for the eaters and gossipers.

Thankfully, the last owner also followed the same arrangement and the Creed renovators just had to modify some bits and pieces.

Cooking stations were still in consideration in case they would go for that catering direction.

That plan is still in the works though but at least the first floor would be up and running as soon as the rest of the floors are already up to code.
