" Did you see that, every time he took off his face got pale and he was trembling? " another one said with a snicker. "What a disgrace!"

" You two! Leave him alone...professor Flitwick is going to come out of his office anytime, don't get into trouble " a Slytherin girl shushed them.

The first boy looked at her frowning "Are you taking his side? Did you forget what our house rule says?" His expression clearly showed his irritation.

" How dunce can the two of you get? I'm only looking out for you two...Go on, tell it to professor Snape, I dare you! we will see who got punished " the girl sneered.

Although felt annoyed and vexed Nathan still turned and briefly smiled at the slytherin girl gratefully. Obviously this girl was someone he already knew was Scarlett... Scarlett Lympshan, one of the girls he met on the Hogwarts Express.

One of the boys was present when he dueled with Bletchley the first day. He seems to hold a grudge because of what happened he would try to against Nathan whenever possible.

Obviously Nathan was aced in everything so they couldn't find anything against Nathan. It was only after the first flying lesson did they realize Nathan was sucked at flying.

Ever since then he and his friends would throw snide comments or two here and there. Aside from a few boys nobody laughed at his lame jokes anymore; Maybe because Nathan was a genius student, handsome boy and teachers praised him a lot.

Even slytherin girls often pretend to not hear it after the first day. Nathan understands everything clearly but he still couldn't stomach the insults about how crappy his crappy flying is.

He almost used all the monthly silver tokens he was saving to ask the system for a flying talent. But in the end he managed to curb his impulsiveness; he couldn't ruin his plans just because he had some small setbacks.

‘Obviously, I can't get everything. Well flying isn't a big deal anyway’ Nathan moodily thought.

He was more miserable because his small prank backfired on him yesterday in the common room. Thankfully it was only a light prank, most of the raven claws didn't know who did this. Nathan could only act his way out of the situation.

Only Nathan and his friends know, he was the mastermind behind the scenes. Another important fact is that he and his friends somewhat reconciled after a few days of not talking to each other.

Though they weren't as close as before, Nathan believes they will let go of these small grudges. Nathan already forgave them even though they didn't apologize; He figured it's their ego which makes it hard for them to lower their heads.

If they expected him to apologize then they were surely dreaming. He understood they were still children thus immature so Nathan could tolerate and overlook a few things.

But one thing was certain, they had to decide for themselves how sincere they wanted to be. Nathan doesn't want some fake friends rather people who can stand by him through fire and rain like he would do for-

He came back to his senses when he felt a cool hand touch his clenched fist. 'Huh?' he turned to see Artemis looking at him with a worried and concerned expression.

Nathan was taken aback, this was the first time he ever saw such an expression on her stoic face. He could literally feel the raw emotions from her and know it was genuine.

" Don't let it bother you" she whispered at him as she squeezed his hand lightly.

"Huh!?" Nathan blanched 'Did she...'

" They were just trying to get back at you " she said, Artemis looked at him and seemed a little hesitant about something. "Y-you know... Um... I can teach you how to fly... I mean if you want to learn" she stammered.

Even though Nathan could feel she was feeling anxious and afraid that he might offended or take it wrongly

There was this slight expectation in her heart.

Nathan didn't look any deep into it but instead felt as if a warm current of magic spread around his body like when he first saw Hogwarts for the first time. It was a surreal feeling, he was compelled to comfort her worries.

He turned his head and looked at her worried face and flashed a grin. " If it was okay with you, then I'm taking your offer and thanks Arte! " he squeezed her hand lightly.

Artemis on the other hand didn't completely expect something like this to lose her composer. Her fair face flushed like a ripe tomato ' What was that? Did he call me Arte? '

She quickly turned her head away from him, careful not to show her blushing face. Strangely enough it was Nathan, who held her hands. He didn't take back his hand; she didn't bother to do that either.

The smile earlier almost brought her to the gates of heaven. She felt her heart getting worked up extra hard as though there were a few dozen mean dwarves smashing her heart with hammers ruthlessly.

" I'll let you pick the time and place... You don't have to worry....I'm a fast learner. Let's hope I didn't waste your time " Nathan nervously said. Nathan did indeed train how to ride a broom but it's vexing when he. found out he was lacking compared to other kids.

His only consolation was it's not only him, pretty much most of the muggleborns didn't do well either. But it was only until they got over their fear and got accustomed to it that he had to at least keep up with them.

" I-it's no problem.... Don't worry we will work something out." Artemis shyly promised.

Artemis too thought him as one of her close friends more so than the other two boys. Maybe it's because of her secret crush on Nathan influencing her. But that's not the only reason, she had a sound sense of judgment when she interacted with people.

She naturally knew she had a crush on him, she wouldn't dumbly deny it. The reason why she continues to pester him despite him shooing her away like a fly over dozens of times.

Because unknown to her something indeed drew her to him like a moth drawn to flame; He gave her this special secure feeling as if his mere presence helped her deal with her inner demons.

" Thank you for standing up for me...I really misjudged you and I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have treat you like evil wit- *cough cough* Um a villainess " Nathan guiltily said.

Artemis looked speechlessly at him 'Me... evil witch? Villainess? What is he talking about? This was probably the worst thing a boy would say to a girl ' and seeing his guilty face she forced a smile and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.

'Seriously what in Morgana did I do wrong to deserve.... To compare with such a vile...ugh! No wonder he was so guarded around me. But why?...Did that because of my family name?' her head spinning like Nathan's roulette she didn't even notice professor Flitwick entered the classroom.

'Thank God, these damn magical theory classes will be soon over ' Nathan thought to himself with relief. He didn't have anything against professor Flitwick or something but he hated this theory.

Fortunately for him he didn't find the lessons hard at all. He can finish most of the homeworks before he goes to sleep; So unlike other first years he had a lot of free time in the following days.

Nathan had a new sense of respect towards Hogwarts. It could be said he became starstruck by the amount of books Hogwarts managed to accumulate over the Millennia.

He admitted the fact he couldn't fully finish with the books in mere seven years. He knew despite his extraordinary memory he couldn't even finish it in two decades.

It would be foolish if he thought all he had to do was just memories of them. He had to do it in a way that was useful. If not , it's no different than a garbage dump. He had to categorize them carefully and slowly assimilate the knowledge that's the right way.

Maybe he can consult with the system to think of a way. He secretly hoped it would give him some magical object that could help him copy or store everything here. 'Maybe I should become a professor here. That's not a bad choice either? '

Nathan on his way back to raven claw when he spotted the weasley twins sneaking around. His eyes sparkled, he was little tempted to secretly pull a prank on them.

But he held back his urges and just noted down they were up to something. To be honest he didn't dare to follow them behind, naturally Nathan had no Way to counter the Hogwarts map in their possession.

He wasn't ashamed to admit that he also coveted the map but the compassion he had for Harry eventually won over and he let go of such thoughts he felt if he schemed for these things then he was no different than Dumbels who manipulate innocent people for his so-called greater good.

He can't possibly go after someone's legacy can he? ' Well I have a camouflage dress but I could only use it for a limited amount of time ' Nathan mused to himself.

Maybe there is Way to do this but I just can't openly start a prank war with them. He knew very well they weren't like Lizzy who was mean but lacked the means to prank him back.

These two on the other hand were evil geniuses when it comes to pranks and invention. Besides, they wouldn't hold back even if they figured out it was just a newbie.

' If I really have to prank them I could only hide in plain sight... Unless I find a way to negate the detection capability of the fabled Hogwarts Map'

Despite his best effort that day he still ended up following them from a distance. But he made sure he didn't raise their suspicions. He was also curious about what schemes these twins were brewing.

Nathan heard they also successfully got selected for the Gryffindor quidditch team; he couldn't help but wonder shouldn't they be supposed to train with the rest of the team.

' Ah, maybe Charlie let them slack off. From what I know they used to play quidditch in their home. So it's possible he knows how his brothers were...alright not my problem' Nathan had to rack his brain for two days but he couldn't figure what these two were up to.

'Could it be they were making prank products?.....surely not now, they were barely in their second years ' Nathan was half exasperated and half anticipating.

It was only after a day later he heard there was something going on in the slytherin part of the dungeon. Hundreds of bats appeared from somewhere and scared the slytherin students back to their common room.

All of them are ten minutes late to their afternoon classes. What was even strange was that a seventh year student had an accident and was sent to the hospital wing because a bunch of flowers grew on his head.

He was impressed by their capability. If not for his vow to surpass them he might have joined them; he was sure he could learn a lot from them. ' Why not let them join me? It wouldn't be against my vow' he arrogantly thought.
