Nathan's Hardships , Birthday Party and Twinkle eyes (Part 1)

Nathan's Hardships , Birthday Party and Twinkle eyes (Part 1)

" My goodness! Thomas, hasn't he grown much taller since the last time I saw him ?" a guest's jovial voice jolted Nathan awake from his self induced stupor.

' My OH My! What is this? How deteste- ahem how delectable.' With a cheerful Sunny Smile on his face Nathan walked straight towards where they were gathering as a group around a table " Please welcome Sir, Everyone please welcome to our home "

He then turned to the tall distinct figure in front of him. Put on an awed expression his eyes took a worshiping glint on them when he addressed this special guest.

" I would have never ever thought you'd be attending my birthday party... It's a real honor sir...thank you thank you very much " Nathan gushed in a fanatic tone, surprising Thomas a great deal.

" My Grandpa often told me a great deal about you. How cool and famous you were back then, I even had a special collection of your cards in my bedroom...collected hundreds of your chocolate cards...can I have your autograph sir please?" Nathan put on his best puppy dog eyes. His antics made the special guest and others chuckle when they heard his rant.

But Nathan was far from enjoying the light hearted atmosphere. He inwardly sneered 'Who else could have thought, The enigmatic and influential great wizard of the current century willing to attend the birthday party of someone like me. He goes by many honorable names and titles, even had some nice pet names every one of them distinctive not to mention he has tremendous reputation in wizarding community be it friend or foe '

Nathan also thought of a few pet names for this man. Like say beacon of hope, crooked rooster stand, Goody old two wooly socks, Twinkle eyes, Meddlesome old fool, chicken Coop Master, detestable old thing old wa- ahem in short he was person of great many names'

Especially someone who Nathan didn't want to meet or deal with before officially going to Hogwarts next year. The old thing was too cunning and paranoid to Nathan's own good not to mention he didn't know how this man alignment in this alternate reality.

Nathan never expected his ring master grandpa to get 'him' to attend this damn party. Make no mistake he has no knowledge about this arrangement nor had he any energy spare to checking out his grandpa's secret invitation list; which Thomas took great lengths to hide from Nathan.

With everything going on with these last three years of hardship he endured. Nathan really didn't bother with his grandpa's childish behavior. 'But' if he really knew who was going to be the special guest then he might have really done something about it.

He wouldn't mind giving his grandpa a few well thought out indirect suggestions thus making sure this old goat couldn't come to his birthday party.

Now that he thinks about it, there were some clues in this past month. It's just that Nathan was too preoccupied with his own matters. Very upset and nervous regarding some other matter not bothering least but with his grandpa's spontaneous arrangement of celebrating birthday.

For the past six years they never celebrated his birthday...meaning they didn't throw a party. It must have something to do with his grandpa's idea, Seeing him upset Thomas thought up some ingenious idea to cheer him up. He actually managed to convincing Nathan via emotional manipulation and black mail few days before.

Nathan didn't think this was going to be a problem, it's true he still didn't get used to throwing birthday parties. The cheerful crowd kind of overwhelmed him and made him jittery; he was never one to get this kind of attention.

' Showing off to his old friends my ass! I should have known this ' he secretly chided himself for not thinking deeply. But outwardly he had no expression change, his eyes and face were even brighter than the chandelier hanging above. As he wordlessly looked at the Old Men and ladies teasing one another while talking nonsense.

Was he upset about this? Did he not like Dumbledore? 'Yes and yes'. For such questions he wouldn't even need to blink shootout answers. Although he genuinely did not want to be at the party today for a few other reasons now he had this strong urge to bolt out of the celebration.

For the second question it was plain and simple, Nathan didn't have a lot of reason to hate this person at time one of his favorites too. But after finishing the series, his heart kind of turned cold. From then on he never liked this old thing.

Whatever theories or reasons were given for his actions later, Nathan couldn't find it in him to see things the same way as he used to look. If it's not clear to anyone the old thing was none other than Albus Dumbledore.

The Harry Potter series was a solace for him at that time. When he really needed some distraction in his life back then. Nathan might have despised and scolded Harry for many of his actions in the novels. Like lacking practical sense and motivation or dumbly goofing around with Ronald, Nathan in his own way still adored the flawed Harry for his many other traits besides he shouldn't expect much from kids.

That's the truth, in the end Nathan wouldn't have cared if Harry was just an immature brat, a loser or years later end up as a drunkard. Even if some mumbo-jumbo miracle saved him during the fight with Voldy, like every other time in the novels at least he enjoyed the overall story as a whole.

What Dumbledore did to Harry was something he couldn't accept at all. Hell Nathan would have tolerated voldy to a certain degree rather than this old goat. What's with all his saint-like acting, to him the old thing wasn't worthy of respect for his later actions.

Nathan was often immature and unreasonable at times. He was extremely sensitive to some things in general as a fan of this series. This got him very hard when he found out.

The whole devious plan and hypocrisy acting of Dumbledore didn't sit well with him. To a certain degree, he felt very ashamed and angry of himself when he later thought about the time he silently shed tears for the old thing's death in half blood prince after finishing the whole series he felt

Somewhat cheated this left bad feelings in his heart.

Nathan wouldn't be ashamed to admit this matter to anyone. As he was the type to easily immerse into reading fiction he took a liking to. Nathan would love and hate the characters with passion.

Dude tends to defend his favorite character verbally, though sometimes things get physical if needed he wouldn't mind. How could he tolerate someone like that in his own house?

There was this dark thought fleet past in the depth of his subconscious mind whether or not he had to do something with Dumbledore. Had this not been for the fact Dumbledore's presence was kind of indispensable to the current wizarding world or precisely for the next seven upcoming years he would have really thought up a way to deal with Dumbledore.

Now, now don't get agitated, Nathan knows very well he wasn't that capable yet even if he was capable at some point he wasn't psychopathic enough to kill someone as the experience of death really broadened his mind.

Nathan knew the value of life, he wouldn't suddenly go on rampage because of his grudges and got ticked seeing the man in person. It's just that he couldn't tolerate such a presence near him or anyone in his family. He has a strong reason to believe so.

"Here this is for you?" a kindly smiling old coot gave Nathan a nicely wrapped up gift packet.

"Ah... Thank you sir, thank you so much!" Nathan reached out with trembling hands, excitement written all over his face, tightly gripping both hands on the gift pack as he looked at them.

Inwardly he felt nothing but Nathan subtly manipulating his psychic energy to probe the gift he wouldn't dumbly believe someone this manipulative and cold hearted who knows what would he give him?

" Haha" Dumbledore's chuckle makes him aware of his present situation. " My dear boy, why are you not opening them yet? Don't you want to see what was in it? "

Nathan shook his head like lamb " I will check it out later... In my room"

"Nathaniel! What are you doing?" his grandpa's flushed hand could be seen in front of him "Yeah Open them " his sister/cousin urged him.

' How naive could these two be? Just because he was smiling and looking amiable they believe him '

Nathan sneered in his heart. Does he look like a stupid. In his opinion Dumbledore, no different than a smiling tiger, would be foolish enough to open the damn thing here.

Dumbledore waved his hand to Thomas indicating not to pursue the matter further. He looked down at him with a grandfather smile "Nathan, I heard you are really got very upset when you didn't get your Hogwarts letters this year"

He smiled placatingly at Nathan as the rest of the old people looked amused at this information. "Well don't be sad, you couldn't get angry at Thomas for this matter...there, there! Before you ask me to do something about this problem of yours. I will tell you something real quick "

" Even as a headmaster, I can't simply take you there on my whim. Everything had to go by some procedure. Hmm let me tell you something, Many Hogwarts students have younger siblings or neighbors back home who also want to attend the school years ahead of everyone else.

" See, this can't happen if I allow you to attend the school ahead of your time, wouldn't this imply I set a bad example in our society. You wouldn't want someone scolding me behind my back or file a complaint against me at the ministry of magic or the worst board of governors would you? Little Nathan, that's why everyone had to follow the rules. That's the fair a thing to do as a good wizard that's what I expect from a good boy like you"

Nathan's expression kept changing during this preaching, from happy expression to angry, conflicted, gloomy and sad. In the end he hung his head down with a melancholic expression. He pretended to not hear the snicker from everyone in the room even Lizzy was secretly snickering at his funny depressed expression.

'What a load of bullshit, I wonder what would he do if I laughed in his face for his cheap act of hypocrisy… Nah, I can't act on this impulsiveness.

Nathan, far from depressed, was an idiot to Join school in the middle of October, a month and a couple of weeks away. What could he possibly be doing? Although he could be considered a genius because of his psychic powers he didn't even touch the school syllabus.

Just because he was a genius doesn't mean he would be already finished with his seven years syllabus and electives. Then what the hell he should be going to learn in school? Sorry he wasn't the type to do such nonsensical things.

The telepathic power he got from Xavier was really powerful though. That doesn't mean he can do everything compared to the level four(Alpha) mutant who is categorized as omega level telepath.

Nathan's power level was far from it but certainly growing. Maybe when he was in his late thirties or early forties he could be considered on a similar level to Xavier. This was surprising itself; his growth was monstrous.

The weird thing about this issue is, he couldn't be considered to be a mutant from the system declaration magical equivalent of one but had no freaking x gene in him. According to system deduction he could be called a pseudo telepath.

Because of this he was what one called an enhanced version of natural Legilimens and occlumence. Hell he is even capable of doing things like psychic cloak, mental Shield, suggestions, enhanced learning, magic detection radar, perfect recall and even possession.

He more or less already figured out that it was his mind or psychic that got mutated rather than his body. Nathan could even confidently say voldy and dumbbles for his match when it comes to mind magic and he is proud of it that's the reason he dares to put up an act here.
