Nathan stared at the transparent screen in front of his eyes with so much joy. Nathan almost believed he lost the system due to his hastiness and stupidity and ended up sacrificing it for his crazy idea minutes ago.
But seeing is kind of believing isn't it?As long as one isn't prone to have hallucination or out right delusional...ahem, well Nathan strongly believes he wasn't under any hallucinating effect.
Though currently he is kind of nah! Overly dizzy in the head feeling sleepy so check his health up whether or not he was hallucinating Nathan called out his system tentatively.
« System, I really don't expect we somehow made it. I'm really a little stupid back then wasn't I?» Nathan suppressed his anxiety and scrubbed any guilt or remorse he felt that minute.
In his heart deep down he really wanted everything to be real, as he asked a rhetorical question self deprecatingly but never expected the system out right to agree to put shame on his face.
[Indeed]
Not expecting that little Embarrassed Nathan scratched his head foolishly. He started to feel much more tired and drowsy as minutes passed but he had too much guilt and inbuilt cowardice reminding him if he didn't even say an apology or thanking it for saving him at the last minute he never would.
«Er...Ahem, system, thank you very much for saving me and... sorry, I'm a little reckless in deciding both of our lives and other important things like that. » he hurriedly rambled, embarrassed he didn't care about grandpa and Lizzy and playing saint.
Nathan was really ashamed how ungrateful he was acting, when he was put in life and death. He should have tried his best to save his life than show such an ungrateful side of him.
[ Host doesn't have to thank the system, it wasn't my doing anyway. System currently incapable of such feats at least not before.... Besides host doesn't have to apologize to system, I know you are incompetent]
Nathan flinched when he heard the harsh words but failed to notice subtle changes like how it's started to present itself or address him, there is that definite hint of emotions leaking in its ever monotonous speech.
It's harder to say whether it was because of his overwhelming tiredness or guilty conscience, perhaps close encounter with his demise Nathan's mind was such a mess didn't catch on these things even if it's not so subtle.
Nathan's face flushed like ripened tomatoes, he childishly retorted and whined, « Hey! Did you really want to make me feel awful this much? Can't you spare me, some peace of mind? You know today's my.... Well yesterday was my birthday remember don't be so heartless with me»
[So is it your guilt talking or guilt tripping? Host must have had a hard time falling asleep didn't you? Did you require my special service? I can put you to sleep in seconds. How about it? Di-]
«Hey, hey! So you're really angry with me all this time aren't you? Please, please believe me I'm really don't intend to do that stunt...I didn't know what come over me to doing something this dangerous, I assure you I'm no fool, in fact my character is more humble one»
He slurred like a drunkard, Nathan felt like he drank his grandpa's Red current... Nah! More like Ogden's old firewhiskey struggled to shake off the dizziness from his system.
All his thoughts were on convincing the angry system to pardon me for his sin, the point is he was never much of a believer. It's not any near death enlightenment just somehow he felt he owed the system for the stunt he pulled back then he really messed up the system.
« I, Nathaniel-Freaking- Humble- Reed, hereby swear that I would never put myself knowingly in danger....» *Hic* Nathan tries to approach the problem in the most trustable way.
*Tak, tak tak, tak *

As he listened to the familiar set of footsteps brought him out of the hazy world. Alerted him about his fearsome grandpa coming up to check up on him.
*Tak hic tak hic tap hic*
Nathan's dizziness vanished outright; it was only now did he remember he was still wearing dresses and shoes, not to mention his room was still lit up.
*Tak hic tak hic tap hic*
« System quickly put me *Hic*In the sleep Asap » he threw every other thought to the back of his mind tightly shut his eyes. His body was shifted when he heard footsteps near his room doors. A warm sensation spread in his throat and chest area, a cool sensation enveloping his mind he fell asleep.

Slow music spread across the Manor while Nathan could be seen standing on the top of the stairs with a glum look on his childish face. It has been about three years since he escaped the calamity by hair's breadth and now looking at his own house with unfathomable expression.
He sang an entirely different song to himself under his breath, it was melancholic yet catchy and hopeful all at the same time, the melody impactful at the same time as it was soothing.
🎶My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why
I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all🎶
*Crack*
Zeffy Popped up to his right, gave him a polite bow, " Master everything arranged for your birthday party, Sir Thomas asked Zeffy to check up on Master Nathaniel" Zeffy squeaked in a slightly excited tone.
" Uh-huh " he fiddled with his shawl and kindly nodded. " Thanks Zeffy, tell my grandpa, I'll be down in a minute will you? " he smiled at the diminutive elf, who popped away immediately.
His face turned a little serious, even though nothing was wrong with him. He has been acting glum and melodramatic for about the last month and half, truly an annoying fellow.
"Status " he curtly called out.

Nathan blankly stared at his status panel, he then secretly sighed to himself. He carefully looked at his wrist watch for 'the party time' which was supposed to start in less than twenty minutes.
Many things changed in his life from that fateful day. If not for his certain circumstances and stupid rules he should have been eating his dinner at Hogwarts or celebrating his birthday with his newly made friends. Assuming he didn't return here on permission.
Against all of his hope and prayers things didn't go as he thought. Apparently there is some stupid age requirement necessary for attending Hogwarts, of course nothing new he wouldn't have cared if it wasn't concerning him. How come this is his fault if he was born in the middle of October or the last day of December.
Nathan, with a heart full of hope waited and waited until the last week of August. But no, the damn letter wasn't going to come for him, when he indignantly told this to his grandpa he broke out of his stoic character and laughed at his indignation.
Nathan didn't know what it was that the old man found amusing in Nathan's frustration and righteous indignation but this was the first time he caused accidental magic since he remembers his past life.
'And by Merlin, that was a sight to see even he got scared by the outburst'
As if by chance a small size hurricane visited their guest hall for greetings, almost everything thrown away by his loss of control. Not to mention he purposely broke his grandpa's favorite wine bottles for good measure down in the cellar before finally going to hide in his room.
Thomas couldn't coax him to come down for dinner without hearing any response. The old man personally brought some of his favorites to his room to entice him into eating his dinner.
To say it was successful doesn't matter, because he only ate as he was raised as a good child who learned to not waste any food. He clearly knew eating dinner is a good habit and good for his health.
If he really insisted on this he probably could have endured it for several days without eating and drinking besides it would make Zeffy sad how could he do it.
Nathan grumpily walked down the stairs wearing a fancy looking white shervani and glittering shawl. He let his hair grow a little longer and he grew taller by at least a whole ten inches.
All this physical training he had been put through did help him shape up, fit for children his age. Even though he was still looking skinny there was a clear definition of muscles started to show at least for his scrutinizing eyes definitely there.
With a deep breath he adjusted his posture and dress, put on a fake smile when he entered the ballroom and greeted everyone obediently like he was teached. But when he saw a certain someone in between the dozens of guests, the fake smile on his face got frozen along with his body like ugly ice sculpture made up by .
He looked at the certain side where that honorable guest smilingly talking to his grandpa had a look of pure shock in Nathan's face hard to hide' The hell!....What is he doing here? shouldn't he....' a low stern voice disturbed his stupor.
" Nathaniel, come here and greet your great grand uncle " Thomas leveled him with his usual stern look.
Even if that failed to shake him awake the patronizing warm grandfather voice definitely did "Hello, Nathan don't stand there come in, come in?"
" My goodness! Thomas, didn't he grow up much taller?"
