Nathan's Group Of Friends, Mayhem (Part 2)

Nathan's Group Of Friends, Mayhem (Part 2)

The morning air was very fresh and the scenery was breathtaking and nice. At the moment the entire Millina old castle and its lush grounds had exuded an indescribable charm to all things.

Since it was like that; It was expected that on weekend days like this Some students had nothing to do. Could be lured out by their curiosity and intoxicated hearts could be seen enjoying the weather outside with a happy mood.

Students were scattered around here and there and It was a mixture of students from all years. Most of them either in the neatly mowed lawns and stone steps or the places nearby great lack.

Some eager students even made a short pilgrimage towards the Quidditch pitch with a broom in their hands. They pointed their fingers at something in the sky above quidditch stadium.

It seems the passion of flying didn't only affect the students. Above the stadium students could occasionally see something streaking through or diving down.

If one looked carefully they would find that it was a short woman with gray hair and goggles wearing a black robe pulling off such stunts daringly.

Nathan didn't expect the passion of some people to be this intense; He wouldn't dare to fly in this kind of weather. He'd nothing to say, it's kind of expected by him. Unlike him these quidditch (fanatics)teams are really daring to train and play in all kinds of weather.

As for him, currently he and three other misfi- ahem, new friends leisurely lying down on the lush green grass on the one side of great lake's banks.

This place was little secluded and inclined steeply so not only no one disturb them they could even see the great lake to certain degree without strain their neck while lying down

Not far from them is a huge boulder standing on the bank with a few birds playing on them. Before Nathan's group went down for breakfast another friend joined them.

Suddenly the comfortable silence broke as the brown haired boy spoke up after pondering about a certain matter. "I see! Well what you said makes sense. I think in this way, They'd be more pleased and interested in reading my letter."

The boy gushed with excited expression " I bet both of them like to hear, How was my first day classes like?... and what did we do today? "

"So I think it's perfectly alright If I send the letter tomorrow afternoon or evening, don't you guys agree?" said "please call me 'Eddie' Carmichael.

" Me too... Now that I think about it. My letter also felt boring. Why don't we send letters back together huh? Everyone, let's send our letters say...tomorrow evening how about it? '' a chubby boy named Marcus, enthusiastically interjected.

He was the one to last join their team. Marcus was a slightly plump boy with pale skin, wavy black hair and a chubby face.

He met up with Nathan and the other two before they left the common room, since both of them know one another from train ride considered acquaintances so he had no objection.

Apparently Marcus and Eddie had some plans for that day. Like playing games in the common rooms and planning to ask older year students or Eddie's cousin to give them a brief tour of the castle " And thank you, if you didn't tell me I really wouldn't have thought of it " Eddie thanked him profusely.

Nathan cast a sidelong glance and scrutinized the boy, ' Hmm! he looked sincere enough' Nathan could tell this boy was also a trouble maker. Anyway, he only said these things because he was too lazy to go up to the dormitory and come down, then once again climb up the owlery; so he tricked them with a few words.

Who would have thought after they finished their breakfast and as soon as they walked out of the great Hall this kid 'Eddie' would cause a scene. Eddie recalled something and started to fuss over how he forgot to bring down the letter he wrote last night for his parents.

As if it wasn't enough, this new fellow Markus Belby clamored he also forgot that. Ironically enough he only wrote it this morning but he still forgot to bring it down with him.

Nathan could immediately tell these two really wouldn't mind the trip back to the tower. But how could Nathan allow this to happen? Wouldn't this ruin his plan? He was already worried over how to efficiently use their time on exploring much of the castle.

Not to mention the fact he already regretted ever letting Artemis (Girl from black family) convince them to take a short break at the great lake. Did it make sense? He really misjudged such a simple move.

They get too comfortable and lazy while lying down; He worried they might be unwilling to get up. Nathan's worries weren't baseless, he also felt full and a little sleepy.

Besides shockingly enough he even had some lazy thoughts like. ' It was okay if I skip my workout once or twice every month' ' It would be nice if I had saved some chocolate cookies for me right now '' Nathan was astonished by such thoughts. If his grandpa knew this he would have reprimanded him for lack of self control and discipline.

So far all they did was eat their breakfast and now they were lying down in Lake bank. He even wished for the giant squid to throw spontaneous tantrums of some sort and splash some water on them.

So they could scramble out of here and merrily on their way back to explore the castle. He really can't sit still once he planned to explore the castle.

Nathan nodded to Eddie's thanks " It's alright, well I thought if you did it like this. Your parents might be impressed... Well that's what at least I planned to do " Nathan said pretending to be modest.

He once again turned his attention to the lake and peered at the calm surface of the lake and had some doubts in his heart 'Was the giant squid sleeping or something ?' He really heard from someone that the squid was naughty and played a joke on whoever was resting on the shore.

He glanced at his new friends, couldn't endure it any longer so he gently urged them " We should get going. Don't you think we had enough rest....well we don't have much of a time or it will be soon lunch time "

Nathan tried his best to not sound too bossy, after all they were his first friends. He doesn't want to be disliked Nathan knows despite being Eleven year old kids Nobody likes to be bossed around, he was like that in his both lives. ' Though, I doubt these brats really had any ego, it's better safe than sorry ' not all of them can be Draco Malfoy.

"Er...then how about this. First we checked out the school grounds, after lunch we had more time on our hands to explore the castle. What do you guys think?" Artemis gave her two cents in a timely manner. The three boys reacted differently to that suggestion.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

"Cool. Yeah, let's do it like that" Eddie immediately agreed. Nathan couldn't tell what was so cool about it.

"What? We are already done resting? It's so comfortable here. Guys Please, let me rest here a little bit more " Marcus on the other hand whined lazily.

Nathan's face twitched in annoyance, he took a deep breath 'Why don't I just explore the castle on my own?' his jaw ticked when he thought about how Artemis kept pushing them around however she likes. He narrowed his eyes and replied. But his voice showed no emotion "Yeah, sure"

When they got up, Artemis walked closer to him " Thank you, Nathan! " Artemis whispered to him in a soft voice before running off to the front. 'It's getting very annoying ' Nathan was angry and annoyed by how everything was going out of his control.

The Hogwarts grounds was so vast that he didn't think it's easy to see everything in just a few hours time before lunch 'But thanks to her everything going to get messed up' she suggested things so timely and rationally that he couldn't even find an excuse to protest.

And now she wanted to look around the grounds. Everyone here was clearly led around their nose by her. Nathan's face was dark. He decided that no matter what he wouldn't allow her to act as she pleased after they had lunch.

Or he was going to explore the castle on his own and couldn't help grumbling in his heart 'Damn! Here I thought the more people the more fun' he kinda regret agreeing to join them. 'I shouldn't have let her join us ' Nathan rudely thought this to himself.

'As expected the ground was indeed big' No one could possibly see everything here in just a few hours. They first walked back on the bank on the edge of forbidden forest. They could barely see the trail they took last night before the boat ride.

The hogsmeade station was somewhere around that place. Despite being called hogsmeade station it's not homemade but all the way across it. It can be rather called Hogwarts station.

They walked down the bank for a full ten-minutes before they saw something interesting. The path leads them towards the pumpkin patch and Hagrid's garden, then two Huts side-by-side near the forest.

"Eh, Isn't that the one who brought us to the castle last night?" Marcus suddenly commented on the tall Gaint man who was hovering over some tools in the small Hut when they spotted Hagrid.

"We better not!...i mean people usually don't like to get disturbed while they are working on something " Nathan said with a solemn face. He wanted to squeeze out any silly thoughts such as having a nice chat with Hagrid over some tea.

" Look, He looked like he was preparing to go... somewhere " his tone now had a tinge of worry and wariness. Nathan nowadays doesn't feel ashamed anymore. Even if he felt a little guilty about tricking kids and lying through his teeth; what can they do? They couldn't see through him when everyone's face was rosy from all the walking and the weather.

Besides he could easily trick his grandpa again and again, how could this little brats compare to that. His words seem to have succeeded in alarming the minds of some, they are now a little hesitant.

There is no way in hell he was going to waste anymore time chit chatting with someone. Even if that someone was one of his favorite characters, the friendly half-giant.

Just a few minutes ago they spotted a small island in the lake and got really curious. Thankfully he managed to convince them to go there on some other day.

Nathan was also inwardly surprised to find a freaking island in the great lake ' How should I know there was an island in the lake? ' they didn't notice last night.

" I don't think he would get angry with us, just because we stopped by and said hello!" Eddie doubtfully reasoned with Nathan.

Nathan faintly smiled and gestured to him to try that. Eddie was stunned, then looking at Hagrid nervously, trying as he might, he couldn't seem to pluck up the courage.

Nathan sneered at the kid's attempt to probe. Thanks to God for his talent in bluffing and... Hagrid's intimidating presence. Nathan wouldn't allow his new 'friends' to slip out of his grasp no matter how bad he felt.

Nathan frowned slightly at that thought even though he felt he was acting rather weirdly. ' Was it because it is after a long time I had friends or I can't stand this brats?' Nathan mused, he felt his actions were a little despicable. This made Nathan alarmed 'Hmm could it be I have developed some sociopath tendencies? It couldn't be right? '

"No he wouldn't " Artemis suddenly said this with certainty. There was a strange gleam in her eyes, Nathan felt a fluctuation of complicated emotions as he narrowed his eyes.

Still Nathan's face became a little darkened, ' What the hell? One after another, Are they rebelling? ' he thought fishes were already on the net. ' No, it's her plan. Does she really have to go against me at every turn! ' he was extremely pissed.

"Well! We are really busy right now. Why don't we try it another time? " he testily interjected. Nathan really couldn't stand her atrocious behavior anymore, his annoyance seeping into his tone.

Artemis looked up at him as if she sensed something "Oh! Yeah I guess...then alright. We could talk to him some other day "

Nathan let out a sigh, next they went past the lawn area where he thought quidditch lessons were likely held. The garden area of Hogwarts and green houses are nearby so was the infamous, menacing whopping willow. It was already in their line of sight now " Is it okay for us to come here? " Marcus Belby asked hesitantly.

There are about seven green houses neatly built up in line. The Hogwarts garden is also very close. The green houses all looked intimidated; they didn't dare to get too close. "Look! Eddie pointed to one of the greenhouses and whispered.

A plump in baggy clothes and gloves doing something with concentration. "That is Professor Sprout. Must be tending plants" Eddie explained.

" The Hufflepuffs are indeed hard working " Belby voiced out his admiration. Nathan couldn't help but roll his eyes.

Before he could say anything it was once again Artemis who spoke up first. " She is preparing for her first lessons I guess. I heard her office was also nearby, so it makes sense she was already here in the early morning"

Professor sprouts seemed to sense them, the kids got startled for a second there. After a Loud greeting the four of them scrambled away in hurry. They literally circle around the castle grounds.

Nathan was exasperated and speechless by the kids' antics every time. It really made him wonder whether his grandpa had such a hard time raising two childrens. It was Rare occurrence that sympathy for his grandpa appeared in Nathan's heart.

The three of them really tired him out, they all like curious little sheeps tried to do something one after another. But this also gave him time to observe and deduce the characters of these three.

Each one had a different character, Eddie was the most mischievous and troublesome one and Marcus on the other hand was rather normal, a little laid back and careless maybe.

Lastly, the girl Artemis, he had a hard time understanding her. She was like a piece of ice. It's hard to grasp what she was thinking from her expression.

Her face and eyes were pretty much expressionless most of the time. Only two times did he see her expressing herself naturally one was when they saw Hagrid and the other time was when they went to take a look at quidditch pitch.

Weirdly enough the girl likes quidditch so much that she is generous enough to share something about her past. Apparently the girl was raised by her uncle and it was him who taught her how to fly and play this game.

Artemis said she liked to play as a chaser. Her uncle was once a chaser in the school team and seemed to brag about his games to his niece. She bragged she was no worse than her uncle.

Nathan sneered ' Was that matter, I bet he must have been old. Was comparing to an old man that good? Hmph!' he sullenly thought it's nothing to do with his burning jealousy.

Nathan's mood was no longer annoyed as they explored the grounds by the time they entered Great Hall time was around Three in the afternoon. There were very few people in the great Hall.

Although his heart ached he was impressed by what he saw. He felt there's more to the grounds than he initially thought. There were many closed places, Secret passages, courtyards, abandoned buildings, owlery, quidditch tower and two other towers, a few bridges and waterfalls.

He felt many things seemed much older than even the castle. As if the castle was built in some ruins, the forbidden forest also suggested something along his speculations. He decided that he would slowly see the mystery about the grounds.

After lunch they finally decided to explore the castle. This time Eddie suggested that they should start with ground floor and dungeons claiming he had to see if he could meet up with his cousin before dinner.

Nathan shrugged and magnanimously agreed, he was no longer on the edge. Besides he already figured they could at most fully explore one floor if they don't rush it. Nathan had no choice but to settle with this arrangement.

If he wants to get will slowly explore on his own for the next few weeks. They just went down the stairs and spotted a group of students coming from the other side of the corridor.

“Where are you going?” one of the students asked. Looking at them suspiciously.
