Soaring Dragon Continent, Sky Serpent School
After Li Lan intervened in Qiu Zhen and Ye Fa’s fight, Qiu Zhen went back to his room and started to absorb the three headed jade serpent demon core. With the help of the demon core, his cultivation rose to the seventh Dao realm, but others would only see him at being the third Dao realm.
Qiu Zhen spent some time after reaching the seventh Dao realm getting use to his new strength, and practicing his martial skills. Every single technique he learned from the Sky Burning skills, their speed and power greatly increased. When Qiu Zhen reaches the level of an early stage Mystic cultivator, he can then begin to cultivate Thunder Gods Step form two, which would enhance his speed twice its current level.
Since Qiu Zhen has entered the Sky Serpent School only four days has passed, but he has yet heard a word from his master. Qiu Zhen decided to make a visit to Fang Wei, and see if he could get anything out of him.
On his way to the place where elders of the school are housed, many inner disciples were whispering about him. First they were talking about how he had the nerve to disrespect Ye Fa, and the Death Blood faction. Then they also talked about him holding up Li Lan, just because he wanted to get another glimpse at her beauty. However to Qiu Zhen, these inner disciples only knew how to talk but they never actually bared their fangs.
Making his way to a house that was several times larger than his, Qiu Zhen started knocking. “Master, disciple Qiu Zhen comes to pay a visit.”
Creak!
Slowly the door opened, but no figure was seen opening the door. Inside the house it was completely dark, and you could only see a small flame if you stared very hard. The house seemed as if it was filled with many items and riches on the outside, but on the inside it was just an empty space.
“Come in.” A voice called out in Qiu Zhen’s mind, and he went inside the house.
Qiu Zhen took a few steps and candles started to light up, it seemed the more steps he took, the more candles would be set aflame. “Interesting, seems master Fang Wei knows a few tricks.” Qiu Zhen thought to himself as he proceeded to walk in a straight line.
Fang Wei was seated in a meditative position and was floating in the air, he seemed peaceful. His chest expanded and he blew out cold air as he stood up, all the candle lights went out. In the darkness Fang Wei stared at Qiu Zhen before he clapped his hands causing all the candles to ignite once more.
“I see you’ve increased your cultivation reaching the third Dao realm, not bad.”
“Many thanks master, today this disciple has come to learn if master has any suggestions on martial skills he should learn.”
Fang Wei thought for a moment before speaking, “You already have flame techniques and by the looks of what you showed during the exam, they are fairly powerful. I suggest you work on cultivating a body skill, one that could enhance your strength or speed.”
Qiu Zhen didn’t think Fang Wei would suggest him to cultivate a body skill instead of a martial skill. When Fang Wei suggested it, it took Qiu Zhen by surprise because most masters would want their disciples to follow in the same path as them. In Qiu Zhen’s past life, he had cultivated a body skill before but it never matched well with his type of battle style. The difference between a body skill and martial skills are quite simple, body skills pertain to the body while martial skills are used for combat or agility techniques.
When a cultivator learns martial skills, they can cultivate and learn as many as they want, but a body skill to a cultivator will be a lifelong partner. A cultivator can only choose one body skill to learn, and they have to stick with it forever. Each body skill are all the same grade, the only difference is what each body skill does.
In Qiu Zhen’s previous life he had cultivated the body skill, ‘Demon Ox’ which only increased his strength of his body. Later when Qiu Zhen reached a higher realm, he learned different martial skills which caused his body skill to lose most of it’s effects. ‘Demon Ox’ increased his strength, but that only applied to hand to hand combat, while later he used swords more often.
This time, Qiu Zhen couldn’t make the same mistake he made last time, no matter which style or techniques he used the body skill he needed would have to affect them all.
“Does master have any suggestions that this disciple should take note of?”
Fang Wei looked around the room, until his eyes landed on a small black and blue book. He used his mental energy to float the book towards him, until he made it land into Qiu Zhen’s hand. “This skill is many times greater than any body skill in the martial skill building, but it is hard to learn. When I obtained this book I already learned my body skill thus could not learn it and only kept it for myself for when I passed my knowledge onto my disciple. However, if you choose to learn this body skill, you will gain great power, but it is only half of what the skill is truly capable of.”
Qiu Zhen tilted his head slightly before speaking again, “What do you mean half?”
Sighing Fang Wei said, “The book is only half complete.”
“Why?”
“I… don’t know?”
Why don’t you know?”
Fang Wei stared at Qiu Zhen, it seemed like this disciple would bring him nothing but headaches. “Qiu Zhen, if I were you I would be careful of others. You are only fourteen years of age and yet you are already at the third Dao realm, if others probe for your cultivation and find out some people will want to kill you.”
Qiu Zhen shrugged his shoulders, “Not worried.”
Fang Wei could do nothing but shake his head, ‘This kid is not even afraid of death, it seems the younger generation will be a lose cause.’ Fang Wei produced two rings, one was black while the other was silver. “Since you are my disciple naturally I shall take care of you, the silver ring is used to store items, it can store up to two hundred items. This black ring however holds great mystery, but one of it’s effects is that it can hide your cultivation level to any level below yours when needed.”
Qiu Zhen grabbed both, and he suddenly realised that he didn’t even need to cultivate ‘False Cult’ if he had this ring. If he knew about it earlier, he wouldn’t have even bothered to cultivate that skill. Before Qiu Zhen could say his thanks, Fang Wei’s energy pushed him out the room and closed the door. Fang Wei felt if Qiu Zhen stayed around any longer he would ask too many questions.
Thanks to his visit Qiu Zhen obtained three items, two of which would be highly important to him and the other he wasn’t sure of. The two rings he put on his fingers and concealed his cultivation to the first Dao realm once more, while he glanced at the book in his hands. The skill was called ‘9 Revolving Heaven’, when Qiu Zhen started reading it he felt as if it was an extremely profound skill, but highly difficult to cultivate in. The ‘9 Revolving Heaven’ could increase your strength, speed, and it gave you immunity to poison, this was only the first three stages, and the only three. Qiu Zhen felt that if he cultivated this skill he would have to rely on the Five Heavenly Dragon tattoo for completion, but since he didn’t know the other six stages he would be going in blind. If the body skill didn’t give him effects he liked, then it would be a waste, on the other hand he could gamble on it and it might help his cultivation greatly.
After thinking about it for a moment, Qiu Zhen placed the book in his silver ring and decided to head towards the martial skill building. “I’ll take my chances at the other body skills first before I decide.” Qiu Zhen thought as he headed towards the building.

Reaching the entrance, there were two old men seated in a meditative position and a young man behind the counter. Obviously the two old men were placed there to protect the martial skill building, while the young man was there to help disciples check out their skills. The only floor in this building that had body skills were on the third floor, it was located here because the school didn’t want the disciples to obtain a body skill early on and regret it later. If they obtained one as an outer disciple with their low cultivation naturally they would pick almost any one, but if they are an inner disciple they’ll have an easier time choosing.
Qiu Zhen started searching the section of the floor that held all the body skills, but nothing caught his eye. He felt as if it was hopeless, all the body skills only had one or two effects, and hardly any of them helped increase his flames nor his ability in any skills. “Seems like i’ll take a gamble.” Swish!
Suddenly a figure flashed and went past Qiu Zhen so fast he couldn’t even make out who it was. In the air a blue piece of paper floated down. Qiu Zhen grabbed the paper and started to read it, as he read it he began to smile. “Seems like it didn’t take her long to get in contact with me.”
That’s right, the paper that Qiu Zhen got was from Li Lan, but who delivered it was clearly not her. It stated that she had an important matter to discuss with him and she would like to meet him today. Obviously the discussion would be about the bag he gave her, as for why she didn’t meet him in person it was probably because of her status.
A few minutes after reading it, the paper started burning, until suddenly it was no more.
Qiu Zhen was on his way out the martial skill building when three males with an insignia of black blood on their chest appeared. “I thought these guys gave up, seems like I was wrong.” Qiu Zhen kept walking towards the group of three until he faced them face to face, “What do you want?”
The male who seemed to be in his late twenties spoke up in a loud voice, “Hpmh! Elder Brother Ye Fa challenges you to a life and death match, do you accept!?”
All of the surrounding disciples in the martial building suddenly stopped searching for martial skills, and turned to look at what was going on. If a member of the Death Blood faction was causing trouble again it couldn’t mean anything good. Even the two old men opened one eye to glance at the group of males.
“Seems like Ye Fa is at it again, not only did he fight an inner disciple at the first Dao realm a few days ago, now he challenges another one to a life and death match, he’s truly fierce.”
“Hpmh! Serves them right for messing with brother Ye Fa, both of them gave brother Ye Fa no face it’s only right he punishes them.”
“Hahaha, you would have to be stupid to accept such a challenge, obviously he won’t accept it so why are we even talking about it?”
Many of the other disciples nodded their head in agreement and once again started searching for martial skills. They didn’t believe that someone would actually accept a life and death match when they were only at the first Dao realm, when the challenger was six levels higher than them. If a person accepted they would be truly stupid.
Qiu Zhen glanced at the three men before walking off, but his said he reply. “Alright, I accept.”
“Huh? Did I hear right? Someone quickly tell me i’m wrong?”
“Stupid. Stupid! How can he be so stupid and accept, does he think this is some sort of game?”
“Hey, on the bright side we get to see someone die… right?”
Many disciples started a discussion among themselves about what just happened, while the two elders just shook their head and started meditating again.
Qiu Zhen had good hearing and he could tell that those disciples thought that he would lose, but he didn’t fear. “Chang Chi, it seems before we meet, I’ll have to take care of a smaller problem.”
After leaving the martial skill building, Qiu Zhen walked for around half an hour before reaching a huge blue house. It seemed as if this building could house around three hundred people in it. Outside the house was a group of ten females, each and every one of them were beautiful.
The group of females stopped chatting when they noticed that Qiu Zhen was walking towards the house. “Halt! Who are you?”
“Disciple Qiu Zhen, elder sister Li Lan told me to meet her.”
A female with long red hair stepped forth, and pointed her long sword at Qiu Zhen. “Lies, elder sister Li Lan would never meet with someone such as yourself. Leave, and never step foot here again.”
“Stop, let him pass.”
The group of females turned around and a curly blonde with dark green robes stood behind them. She was gorgeous, but after Qiu Zhen had seen Li Lan, her beauty couldn’t match it. “Sister Li Lan sent for him, let him pass.”
“B-but, he’s a male, all males are naturally lewd. How can he step foot into our holy ground?”
The curly blonde released her aura scaring the daylights out of the other females. “Let him pass!” Her body suddenly flashed and she was gone.
“Hpmh! You can pass, but if you do anything that seems suspicious don’t think about walking out of here with three legs.”
Qiu Zhen didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, it seems these females all have high pride in themselves, and thought of all men as perverts. Qiu Zhen passed the group of females, and entered the house. Inside the house you could smell the fragrant scent of plums, and many females happily chatting. “It seems this faction has nothing but women, this… could be troublesome.”
“Take a turn to the left, and continue forward until you reach a white door.” A cold voice sounded out in his head.
Reaching the door he was getting ready to knock, when the same voice told him to come in. Once he opened the door a cool breeze swept past him, and the scent in the room was quite pleasant to the nose. Li Lan was seated in a meditative position when he walked in, she slowly opened her eyes and stared at him.
“Elder sister Li Lan, it’s good to see you again, I knew we would meet… just not this soon.”
Li Lan stared coldly at him before opening her mouth to speak. “Those pills you gave me, where did you get them?”
Qiu Zhen put his finger over his lips, “That will be a secret.”
“Hpmh! Keep your secrets if you must, but what if I tell others, naturally you can’t keep your secret forever.”
Qiu Zhen chuckled before speaking, “Naturally you wouldn’t do that, if you were that kind of person then you would have spread it already. Even if you did spread it, this disciple will die before he tells anyone.”
Li Lan’s azure blue eyes became gentle as she stared Qiu Zhen in the eye. “I won’t tell others, but you must do something for me.”
Qiu Zhen started grinning, it seemed as if Li Lan wasn’t as cold as she seemed to be. “Speak, and this disciple will see if he can do it.”
“First you have to promise me three things.”
Qiu Zhen nodded.
Li Lan’s body shifted as her gaze fell to the floor, “Follow me theres someone else who wants to meet you.”
Li Lan opened a trap door and went down it, followed by Qiu Zhen. On the floor seated in a meditative position was a girl who seemed to be around fifteen years of age, and next to her was the brown bag Qiu Zhen gave to Li Lan.
Qiu Zhen’s body shook, his eye’s opened wide and he couldn’t help but yell, “Yan Xiang‘er!”
