Soaring Dragon Continent, Sky Serpent School
Qiu Zhen was sitting cross legged in a room. The doors were sealed off and only a window was open letting the slight breeze through. He seemed like a statue that was left only to gather dust. His whole body had dust on it.Qiu Zhen took a deep breath, and then exhaled cool air - all the dust that was on him flew away. He opened his eyes and cracked his neck. “That should be good enough.” Qiu Zhen said to himself as he got up from the ground.
The room Qiu Zhen was in is called a cultivation room. It is located in the cultivation tower - which can increase your cultivation speed. This is Qiu Zhen’s first time being in the tower ever since he’s been at the Sky Serpent school. ‘Two Days left’ Qiu Zhen thought as he walked over to the sealed door.
Two Days, that’s the amount of time left before the deadline for the tournament Chang Chi is hosting. Six months went by, but it only seemed like yesterday for Qiu Zhen. During those six months, Qiu Zhen has been in intensive closed doors training trying to reach his peak. He knew that six months was not enough time or even close enough for him to reach the Immortal realm, but it was enough for the Mystic realm.
Qiu Zhen walked out of his cultivation room, only to see another door open the same time as his. A male disciple walked out, he glanced at Qiu Zhen for a short moment before he hurried along. Qiu Zhen grinned as he walked up and out of the cultivation tower. He was currently on the fourth floor, and that was the highest he could go because the third floor is mixed with elders or core disciples.
Qiu Zhen himself is a core disciple, but the ones on the floor beneath him were much stronger than him six months ago. He didn’t try to take one of their cultivation rooms because he didn’t want to have any enmity between them. Truly he wanted to live his days in peace while attending this school. The only reason he had so much trouble is because of Ye Chen and Ye Che. If Ye Chen never tried to rob him the first day, then he would have been able to live his school days in peace.
In the core disciple ranking, Qiu Zhen isn’t ranked high. Actually, he is ranked at the very bottom. He might have the strength to kill a Mystical realm cultivation, but that doesn’t mean everyone else believes it.
While walking out of the cultivation tower Qiu Zhen wondered how everyone else has been since he left. Li Haun, Gan Fang, and Hu Jun. Qiu Zhen already knew Gan Fang was training staff techniques so he would have his revenge on Chang Chi. Considering Gan Fang, Qiu Zhen had a good feeling that he would be meditating as well. When Qiu Zhen thought about Li Haun, he couldn’t help but shake his head. Her cultivation speed was insanely fast, enough to make his own. Therefore he already knew she was either at the Mystical realm or close to it. As for Hu Jun goes, Qiu Zhen had no idea. Her cultivation was already lower than his own, and he didn’t know how her cultivation speed was. Even if she managed to go up one or two levels, Qiu Zhen doubted she was a disciple of an elder. Being the disciple of an elder was the only way she would be able to attend the tournament. When he really thought about it, he didn’t even know if Gan Fang was a disciple of an elder. They never did get around to talking about that.
Qiu Zhen stepped outside the cultivation tower and glanced around. ‘Still the same’ Qiu Zhen said to himself. There were still disciples hanging around, some were conversing, others sparing. How much could possibly change in six months?
Qiu Zhen thought back to how he first arrived at this school. Meeting that group of males who tried to force him to hand over his demon cores. That male who he beat up in the first or second round. That old man from the Scarlet clan, who wanted to kill him. Qiu Zhen thought about his first meeting with Ye Chen and his group of lackies. After that he met Ye Fa, Li Lan and then Li Haun. Drifting over Li Haun, Qiu Zhen couldn’t help but think about his wife Yan Xiang. He sighed in his heart, ‘How is she after all these years?’ he said to himself.
After a moment of thinking about her, Qiu Zhen inwardly laughed. From meeting Gan Fang to enraging Ye Che, Qiu Zhen made a few memories. A year has almost past since he entered this school and he was now fifteen years old. Qiu Zhen himself didn’t think so much would happen in so little time, but it did.
During these past six months, Qiu Zhen frequently thought about the mysterious man he met when he placed the black jewel in that socket. Qiu Zhen felt the top of his head only to find the baby monkey still lying on it. Even during these past six months, this baby monkey has yet to grow even an inch. Qiu Zhen found this highly strange, but he didn’t worry about it too much. All this baby monkey did besides sleeping was eating.
Today was the day the Sky Serpent school would gather it’s disciples to get ready for the tournament. They have a two days worth of ground to cover before they go to Chang Chi’s tournament. He was surprised that no one has left yet, or weren’t leaving yet.
Qiu Zhen walked over to Fang Wei’s house. He decided to pay him a visit after six months of not seeing him - or anyone for that matter. He arrived like usual and opened the door. As usual, Fang Wei was sitting cross legged in a meditative state. Once Qiu Zhen came in, he opened his eyes.
“Greetings master.” Qiu Zhen said as he walked over to Fang Wei.
Fang Wei eyed Qiu Zhen. He was carefully observing his moments. He noticed that they seemed even better than before. Each one of Qiu Zhen’s steps were evenly spread out, and used the slightest bit of strength. When his foot touched the ground you couldn’t hear anything. Fang Wei grinned.
“Something’s changed.” Fang Wei told Qiu Zhen.
Qiu Zhen’s eyebrow rose. It seemed that he didn’t understand what his master was talking about. Ever since he came out of the cultivation tower he didn’t see anything that has remotely changed.
“What’s changed.” Qiu Zhen asked.
Stolen story; please report.
Fang Wei looked closely at Qiu Zhen. The aura, the air he was emitting seemed to remind him of someone. It wasn’t suffocating as those people who flaunt their qi around, but it gave this chilling feeling. Fang Wei tried to probe at Qiu Zhen’s strength, but he found that he couldn’t. He glanced at Qiu Zhen’s hands but there was no ring on it. The ring he gave him wasn’t in sight at all.
For someone not to be able to see another's cultivation could only mean one thing. That person’s cultivation was four levels higher than their own. ‘Could he have…!’ Fang Wei thought to himself.
“What’s your cultivation?” Fang Wei asked Qiu Zhen. He had no choice but to ask since he couldn’t find out himself.
“Well master, this disciple usually wouldn’t tell anyone his cultivation. However since I am your disciple I’ll tell you. I broke through the mystical realm not to long ago.” Qiu Zhen said.
‘Is this brat lying to me?’ Fang Wei thought to himself. However he quickly dismissed that thought because Qiu Zhen couldn’t be lying. Fang Wei already knew that Qiu Zhen’s speed of cultivating was high, but it isn’t that high to were he would surpass Fang Wei in less than a year. So why can’t he sense Qiu Zhen’s cultivation?
“Really, why can’t I sense your cultivation?” Fang Wei asked him.
Qiu Zhen put a ring on his finger and produced a book. It was the same book that Fang Wei gave him before ‘9 Revolving Heavens’. “Probably because of this body skill.” Qiu Zhen answered.
“Master, this book is truly a treasure. Even if you were at the Immortal realm you still wouldn’t be able to see my own cultivation. I have to say, you gave this disciple a wonderful gift.”
“What are you saying? Don’t tell me… you’ve went past the third stage?” Fang Wei excitedly asked.
Qiu Zhen nodded his head. It is true that he past the third stage of the ‘9 Revolving heavens’. He didn’t spend six whole months on only increasing his cultivation, instead he spent most of his time increasing and honing all his skills.
“How? What stage are you at?” Fang Wei asked. His eye’s were wide open as he were a child receiving the best form of knowledge. Fang Wei himself thought that no one would be able to go past the third stage, but he was wrong. Qiu Zhen went past it and he wanted to know how he did it.
Qiu Zhen lightly laughed. “When I was comprehending this body skill I had a bit of enlightenment so I was able to figure out the other parts. Currently i’ve mastered up the the eight stage, but am close to figuring out the ninth stage.” Qiu Zhen said.
It’s true, that he was at the eight stage in his body skill. ‘9 Revolving Heavens’ had a total of nine stages and Qiu Zhen is already at the eight stage. He was close to understanding the ninth stage, but it was too hard. He had to thank his tattoo for allowing him to even master up to the eight stage. Without it, Qiu Zhen felt that he wouldn’t even be able to master the third stage in six months. However learning up the the eight stage came at a huge cost of cultivation pills. When Qiu Zhen ran out of them, all he could do was meditate until his dantian refilled itself.
“What!? What are the effects?” Fang Wei asked Qiu Zhen.
“Eh, that would take too long to explain master. I’ll let you know during our travel to the tournament. However just know that anyone under the Paragon realm more than likely would not be my match.”
A knocking sound was heard and Fang Wei got up to go to the door. He opened it and a female elder was there. Qiu Zhen grinned, it was the same female elder who was here last time he came. ‘Look at master, she’s totally smitten with him.’ Qiu Zhen said to himself while laughing.
The female elder soon left and Fang Wei came back to Qiu Zhen. He noticed Qiu Zhen happily grinning.
“So master, when’s the egg coming out?” Qiu Zhen asked.
“What?...”
Qiu Zhen was shocked. It’s been six months so she must be… “Master don’t tell me… I thought she came here to let you know about your child.” Qiu Zhen shook his head. “Master it’s been six months and you still haven’t did anything yet.”
Fang Wei felt like bashing his head against the wall. He thought his disciple had changed, but it seems he’s still as shameless as ever. “What are you talking about!? She came to tell me it’s time.”
“Eh? Time for what?” Qiu Zhen asked.
“The gathering of the disciples.” Fang Wei replied.
-----------
In a room sat four men. If Qiu Zhen were here he would easily recognize one of them as the clan master of the Ye Clan. It seems that he has aged a lot in these past six months.
“Clan Master Ye, Clan Master Ho, and Clan Master Chi I welcome you all to my meeting. Sadly it’s right before the tournament is going to start, but we all have something in common.” A man dressed in black said.
The three other men nodded their heads. They knew why they were here. It was all because of one little pest; Qiu Zhen.
“Our forces are ready to strike. If that damn school won’t hand that brat over, then we’ll kill them all!” He said.
“Right, however he should be at the tournament. I doubt the school would leave him behind while they went.”
“Hmph! Even if that brat went to the tournament he won’t live to make it back to his school. We might not be able to kill him in front of the emperor, but we can kill him when he’s leaving.”
The other three men nodded their head. All four of these men were the leaders of their clan or organization and each one of them had something against Qiu Zhen. He gave them no face, or killed someone close to them. Since he wants to have blood drawn and think he can live to see the next day, they’ll give him a blood bath.
