Help me find errors/mistakes, thanks!
(Lots of info in this chapter. Don't know if you'll catch some things, but it's all there. Next chapter was actually split into two parts, but I'll make it all into one. Then we get to the good part? I guess...)
----------------------------------------
Soaring Dragon Continent,
It took them around five days until they were finally on the outer edge of the village. When Qiu Zhen and Gan Fang first left the school they headed east until they arrived at a small town. Gan Fang brought two horses for the both of them since they traveled to that town on foot.
Shortly after leaving the town they encountered a group of bandits. These bandits saw two young men traveling together so it would be considered easy pickings. This was not the case, when they tried to rob Gan Fang and Qiu Zhen they found themselves being bound together.
Qiu Zhen and Gan Fang could kill mortals, but why would they lower themselves to do that unless it was necessary. If someone ticked a cultivator off then that person would usually find their heads rolling the next second. However there are some cultivatiors that don’t mind the talking of mortals.
Unlike Gan Fang who only helped tie them up, Qiu Zhen robbed them for their possessions. They didn’t have much but it was to be expected. To Qiu Zhen though, any money is good money.
The small village had people outside farming or walking with logs. A few small children were helping out as well. The women of the village could not compare to the women in the cultivation world at all. Seeing this village reminded Qiu Zhen of the village he was born in. It brought back good and bad memories, however his face showed no emotion,
“Come, his house is up ahead.” Gan Fang said as he galloped off.
Qiu Zhen followed him shortly after. When they entered the village no one was on guard against them. The villagers gave them a cheerful look, but a few kids came up and asked them who they were. Some of the villagers already knew who Gan Fang was since he has been here before, so they didn’t mind him.
Many of the older women came up and greeted him while some of the younger females tried to charm him. They never knew that Gan Fang was a cultivator so they treated him like most of the other males. The villagers did treat him with respect considering his clothes were better than theirs. They had a feeling he came from a merchant family or some family that was rich. Thus most tried to woo him with their daughters.
Gan Fang only made light chat with the villagers. He didn’t mind the females coming up to greet him. When they asked if he was married he told them no which only made their eyes brighten up even more. A young handsome male was still not married yet? They had to hurry and claim him before someone else did.
Gan Fang’s eyes shot towards Qiu Zhen but he only laughed and didn’t say anything. Gan Fang turned his attention back to some of the females. “I’m not that handsome, nor do I have great strength. Let me tell you, this brother of mines still has yet to wed and he is stronger and more handsome than me.”
The ladies gave Qiu Zhen a quick glance. More than half quickly surrounded him and gave him a touch on his body. They started giggling while whispering among themselves. Qiu Zhen glared at Gan Fang who only turned his head while grinning.
Qiu Zhen hopped off his horse while he walked over to Gan Fang. “Trust me ladies, Gan Fang loves you all. Me? I already have a wife.”
Saying that he had a wife didn’t matter to them. He was handsome so it’s only natural that he would have a wife or two already. In this world men usually had more than one wife, as long as they were strong enough.
Gan Fang got off his horse and gave a slight smile to the ladies. “He’s only being modest. I’ll be sure to invite you all over next time i’m here, but for now I really must be off.”
The ladies were a little disappointed but they still gave him some cheerful looks. Gan Fang and Qiu Zhen started walking towards a stone house. “You have to go through this every time?” Qiu Zhen asked.
“Mostly… however they are good people.” Gan Fang replied
Gan Fang opened the door and inside was a plump man sitting at a table. Next to him were two women that seemed ten years younger than himself. Seeing Gan Fang walk in the man gave the two women a signal to leave.
“Gan Fang it’s good to see you’re still doing well.” The plump man said while waving for them to come over.
“Same to you uncle. Let me introduce you, this is my brother Qiu Zhen.”
Qiu Zhen slightly lowered his head giving respect to the plump man. The plump man glanced over Qiu Zhen and was confused as to why their was a baby monkey on his head. He gave Gan Fang a quick glance, but he only shook his head.
“Right, any brother of Gan Fang is a nephew of mines. Just call me uncle Hei.”
Qiu Zhen replied, “Alright uncle Hei.” This caused the plump man to smile.
Both Qiu Zhen and Gan Fang sat down at the wooden table. Gan Fang’s uncle got straight to the point. He began telling Gan Fang about what happened before, during and after the war.
Both Qiu Zhen and Gan Fang were stunned. When Qiu Zhen asked how Hei knew this information Hei explained that the Gan clan had a secret way to send messages from a far distance in a split second. Gan Fang then took over and said that only those at the Paragon realm are able to do it.
It was no surprise to Qiu Zhen that Chang Chi was behind all of this. When Gan Hei explained from the beginning what happened it all went back to the first meeting the seven great powers had after Chang Mu’s death. Chang Chi told them they should keep the peace and allow those who wanted to be the emperor participate in a tournament, the winner would become the emperor.
The seven others disagreed to the idea, that would mean anyone could become the emperor. A position that many would dream of was picking the next person by a tournament. This would make others start killing each other to kill off the competition. If anything if that tournament happened it would break the peace.
Shortly after they caught the person who killed Chang Mu. Most of the credit was given to Chang Chi, however three people in the seven great powers felt something was up. How could Chang Chi find the assassin that killed Chang Mu so easily? They all had the same resources, but he was the one to find out. This made no sense to the three.
Gan Fu who is Gan Fang’s father and brother of Gan Hei called a meeting. This meeting had all of the seven great powers there, but it was missing Chang Chi. Gan Fu felt that Chang Chi could not be trusted therefore he didn’t include him in the meeting. This meeting was for each one of them to place spy’s in the palace to spy on Chang Chi. They had to keep tabs on him because three of them had a good feeling that the person who killed Chang Mu was not the person Chang Chi caught.
When they explained their theory the other four hesitated to agree. Once the meeting was over they agreed to place spies in the palace.

Gan Fu did his own digging around and what he found was something else. When he went to pay a visit to Chang Mu’s wife Yan Xiang he asked if she knew anything. Yan Xiang was still shocked over her husband's death, and told Gan Fu that he did enter a temple with Chang Chi a few years before.
Yan Xiang said that Chang Mu was excited over the pendant that he had. He claimed it was special, and he knew that it would help him later on. When Gan Fu found this out he asked if she had the pendant. Yan Xiang said that Chang Mu always kept it with him, even while they slept.
Asking if anyone else knew about the pendant besides her and Chang Mu. She explained that if someone else knew about it, it would only be Chang Chi.
Instantly Gan Fu connected the dots. Sadly when he did it was already too late. People from the other kingdoms started dying, and every kingdom thought it was another that was attacking him. A few days before the war broke out Gan Fu called a meeting with the other kingdoms. He told them his findings but they were so outraged that no one believed him. Saying he was spitting lies on Chang Chi to distract them while he kills off all their Paragons.
Gan Fu tried to reassure them that he didn’t. He even told them they were speaking out of their ass instead of listening to the facts. This upset the other leaders, causing them to raise their tempers. You could say that this was another reason they went to war.
During the war when Chang Chi announced he was going into closed door training, Gan Fu wondered why. However shortly after he found out the reason. Chang Chi came back out an immortal. Chang Chi’s first target after he came out of closed doors training just happened to be Gan Fu.
When Gan Fu confronted Chang Chi on Chang Mu’s death Chang Chi laughed in his face. His exact words were; “You thought you were smart? Did you not understand you were rolling around in my palm all this time!? You think Chang Mu was the greatest, but he was not. Do you think I, Chang Chi would sit in the back while he soaks up all the fame and glory!? Let me tell you Chang Chi is always on top! I was the one who did the most in uniting the kingdoms! I was the one who came up with strategies! Chang Mu? All he did was concentrate on his training. When he broke through becoming an Immortal you know what he did? Nothing! He did nothing, but he gets all the glory. Bullshit! Naming him emperor when he’s as smart as dog shit, you people are foolish. Today, you Gan Fu will be the first to witness the rise of Chang Chi. Not only you, but all those who stand behind you today.. will DIE!”
This was it, all that Gan Fu needed to prove that Chang Chi was the one behind everything. However he already knew it was too late. Chang Chi was an immortal, he could easily kill Gan Fu anytime. Gan Fu didn’t deny his fate, but he did something else. His brother who everyone thought to be dead was the only one he could use. As long as one of his clan members stayed alive, his brother could pass this message on to them. Gan Fu exerted all the qi in his body to instantly send all the knowledge he knew from the first day Chang Mu died to the time Chang Chi declared him dead.
Listening to the things his father did without even knowing caused Gan Fang’s eyes to bleed. He couldn’t believe that Chang Chi would not only kill his own brother but also his father. His father was a great man, one of the most loyal people who served Chang Mu. Even in Chang Mu’s death he still had someone trying to find out the truth. When they did, they died.
As for his clans extermination, it could be considered his father's fault. Chang Chi announced to him that he murdered Chang Mu. Even if his father didn’t have a chance to tell anyone, Chang Chi had no choice but to make sure.
Those that were loyal tried to fight him off, but also ended up dead. Some ran but Chang Chi found them later on. As for the other kingdoms Gan Hei didn’t know what happened to them.
“What happened to Yan Xiang!?” Qiu Zhen asked.
“I don’t know. She could be dead considering it’s Chang Chi we’re talking about.” Gan Hei answered
“FUCK!!!” Qiu Zhen yelled as he slammed his fist on the table. ‘Innocent. She did nothing and knew nothing. I swear on my life Chang Chi, if you touched her I will slay your whole family!’
Gan Hei sighed as he looked at Gan Fang. “Don’t do anything stupid. I’ve lived with this for a long time now, you should be able to live with it too. Unless you become an Immortal like Chang Chi, don’t think of doing anything stupid. Since becoming emperor he has everyone fooled.”
Gan Fang coldly said, “You expect me to do nothing! My father died, your own brother! And that man is happily fucking to his heart's content! I swear I’ll kill him, if not him then his daughter!”
“Since you are so set on getting revenge then go ahead. However you must promise me to protect your life at all cost. There is something that your father gave to me after becoming the head of the clan. It’s the clans heirloom, hopefully it’ll be useful.” Gan Hei said as he got up and left the room.
Shortly after he returned with a three meter black box. He passed it to Gan Fang who accepted it with honor. It was his clan’s heirloom, it has been passed down from clan leader to clan leader.
Opening the box inside was a pitch black staff that had a wolves head at the ends. Engraved in the staff were letters. It read; Death Sentence.
Gan Fang stared at the staff before closing his eyes. A tear streamed down his face as he waited sitting. Three minutes passed before he opened his eyes and bowed at the staff.
“I will avenge our clan with honor. They will know what Chang Chi did, and he will get a death sentence.”
“Let’s go Qiu Zhen. I need to find martial skills for staff wielders and increase my cultivation…”
The two males got up and left the stone house. After leaving the two women came back into the room and sat next to Gan Hei. “Don’t you think you should have told him about those men?” One of the women said.
Gan Hei caressed her head while he sighed. “No, he’s still too young. If I were to tell him now it would only give him more to worry about.”
Outside Gan Fang’s face was dark. “Qiu Zhen, if I see Chang Chi at this year's tournament… I don’t think I would be able to control myself.
If I can’t. Carry on for me. I mean… this Yan Xiang, I have no idea what relations you have with her but if something happened to her you’ll want to go after Chang Chi as well. However if I fail, you must survive to carry on for us both.” After saying that Gan Fang urged his horse.

Technique of the Gan clan is like long distance instant transmission. You can send any knowledge you know of to anyone across the continent in a split second, however you'll use up all your qi. Before Gan Fu died he sent his knowledge to Gan Hei because everyone thought he was dead. Who would suspect that he was actually alive? No one would look for a dead guy... right?
As for the baby monkey, people hardly pay it any attention. Usually people have pets so no one really bothers to pay Qiu Zhen's baby monkey much attention. However it is somewhat strange for him to actually have a monkey as a pet, but then again everything is strange.
