“Welcome to hell,” the deep voice from beside her startled her.
Vi turned to him.
“There isn’t enough sake in all of Japan to get me through this year,” Vi told him. “Besides, I’m farther ahead of probably all of the students here.”
She shrugged.
The boy beside her smirked. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye. Though he was sitting, Vi could tell he was tall. His shoulders were broad and his arms corded with muscle that had his shirt straining against his skin. His hair was dark and had a definitive I just had sex vibe or he constantly ran his hand through it. His eyes were a startling green that almost seemed electrified. He exuded power and radiated danger. Vi could tell he was was one to be wary of.
“The name’s Potter, Hadrian Potter,” he told her picking up his goblet of pumpkin juice.
“Sure it’s not Bond, James Bond?” she sneered.
He turned to face her fully then, shock evident on his handsome face.
“What?” she snapped. “Didn’t expect me to know a muggle film?”
He cocked his head to one side.
“More like I didn’t expect you to pick up on it so quickly,” he answered.
“My onii-san’s obsessed with the films. Though he says Sean Connery is the best Bond there is.”
She cut a bite of her lamb and followed it with a sizable piece of the iberico pork. She hummed in appreciation.
“I honestly don’t really care,” she shrugged. “I much prefer Die Hard or crime shows.”
“Ah, I see,” he chuckled. “Have a penchant for violence do we now?”
She rolled her eyes and continued eating her dinner, unbothered by his taunt. Truth was, she did have a penchant for violence. But her love of crime shows meant she was able to get away with far more than an ordinary person plus her magic made things even easier.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” he chuckled darkly.
Before picking up her goblet, she transfigured the liquid inside into something far more palatable, sake. She downed the goblet in one gulp.
“Careful what you wish for, Mr. Potter,” she sneered pausing to refill her goblet with sake. “I just might turn all that knowledge on you.”
She finished her sake in another gulp before rising from her place at the Slytherin table.
“And just where do you think you’re going, Ms. Oda?” A voice behind her drawled.
“Forgive me, professor,” she sneered derisively. “But I have had quite a long day traveling here from my home in Japan and I would like to get a full 9 hours of sleep before I attend what passes for class here.”
“Be that as it may, Ms. Oda, you are not to leave until Professor Dumbledore dismisses everyone for the evening,” the professor replied.
“Besides, you don’t know where the common room is or the password to get in,” Hadrian told her smugly.
By now, Vi was developing a massive headache. Being around people was difficult for her, always had been. You see Vi was a legimens and not only that she was also an empath. The combination of the two made her life a living hell. Technically speaking, a legimens needed eye contact to enter a person’s mind. But Vi’s combination of legimancy and being an empath meant she didn’t need that. It also meant that people skilled with occulmancy, like the professor standing behind her, couldn’t hide anything from her.
“Shall I tell everyone what you’re thinking professor,” she hissed turning to face the man in a fit of uncontrollable anger. “Shall I reveal the horrors of your life to all who are most certainly listening right now?”
At this point, one could hear a pin drop in the Great Hall.
“You cannot possibly know any of that,” the professor told her calmly.
Vi took a step towards him, not surprised he held his ground.
“There are many things about magic that you were not taught, Snivellus,” she whispered.
The man’s eyes widened in shock. Vi smiled dangerously.
“Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to leave before my magic gets out of hand and I kill somebody,” she said with false sweetness.
The man in front of her gave a short nod and motioned to someone.
“Draco,” he croaked. “Please escort Ms. Oda to the Slytherin dormitory.”
“Of course Professor Snape,” a deep voice said from behind her. While not as deep as Hadrian’s, it was still deeper than her brother’s.
Vi turned to the voice and found a handsome blonde looking down at her. His silver eyes were studying her and she didn’t like it.
“Stop looking at me like I’m your next fuck,” she snapped brushing past him.
