Ana sighed. She hated being the new kid. She hated that her father had dragged her away from her home and friends in Japan. She loved studying at Mahoutokoro, the magic school of Japan. Now she was here at Hogwarts and she already hated it.

Hadrian watched as the girl took the sorting hat from her head and turned towards the Slytherin table in a swirl of robes. As she turned, her robes transfigured into the Hogwarts Slytherin robes. His eyebrows rose in mild surprise. That type of magic was quite advanced and not something taught here. She was definitely talented. That being said there was something about her that he didn’t trust.

“Please give Ms. Thana Visha Oda a warm welcome,” Dumbledore said as the girl took the seat next to Hadrian. “Ms. Oda just transferred from Mahoutokoro in Japan. Please make her feel welcome and be patient with her.”

Hadrian heard the girl beside him scoff.

“He acts like I don’t understand basic fucking English,” she growled lowly.

Hadrian started at the sound of her voice. It didn’t sound like he expected it to. It was deeper than he was expecting. And had a surprising Scotch/Irish lilt to it. That was not expected either but he certainly welcomed it.

She sighed deeply.

“Welcome to hell,” he told her.
