Draco stared at Vi through his perriferal vision. She was struggling. He could tell from the way her chest wouldn’t allow her a full breath and the fact he could feel it. He was as connected to her as he was to Hadrian, who was eying her with hostility. He wondered what creature she was that could put him off like that.
Kitsune, a voice whispered in his mind.
Hadrian. Draco looked to him. As a Dhampir, he could sense a person’s creature even if they hadn’t reached maturity. As a syren, he could enthrall pretty much anything with his voice if he so chose.
“Vi isn’t a kitsune, but I am,” Bricriu told them.
Hadrian hissed lowly in annoyance. Only Draco, who was attuned to him, could hear it. But Vi’s head snapped to Hadrian. Her dark eyes narrowed and she advanced on him.
“Dhampir,” she hissed, her eyes flashing red for no longer than a second.
“Thana!” Bricriu thundered.
Vi’s eyes went solid black before settling back to her natural color. As soon as they did, Bricriu was dragging her over to the fireplace.
“What the fuck was that?” Blaise asked after a long moment.
Everyone looked to Hadrian for an answer since he was the only one who could tell what creature a person was. Hadrian ignored them all and kept his eyes firmly on Vi. Draco could tell he was close to losing control of his Dhampir half.
“Hades,” he whispered, knowing Hadrian would hear.
Hadrian’s eyes slid to him. Draco beckoned him over. He hesitated briefly before making his way to Draco.
“What is it, Hades?” Draco asked turning him so their eyes met.
But as soon as Draco touched Hadrian something snapped into place, causing a feral scream to tear from Vi’s throat. The whole room turned to the twins.
“What’s happening?!?” Hadrian growled at Bricriu, who to his credit stood his ground.
“Both of you, come here!” Bricriu ordered.
Draco did as ordered but had to drag Hadrian with him.
“I will only say this once so you had better listen very carefully,” he whispered to them. “Thana is what we call a youkai, a demon if you will. More specifically, she’s our version of a vampire known as kyuketsuki. Literally translated it means blood sucking ogre demon.”
“What the fuck does that have to do with us?” Hadrian growled.
“Calm your fucking titties!” Bricriu snapped. “I’m getting there. You’re a Dhampir and I’m guessing you’re his bosorcoi.”
“What?” Draco interrupted.
“You may call it moroi,” Bricriu sighed. “Yes, I know cliché. However, as it pertains to my sister it is important that you pay attention to what I say next.” He stared at the both of them until they nodded. “Good. My sister being a kyuketsuki means she needs blood to survive like you.” He pointed to Draco. “But what makes her different from you and others like her is that she cannot drink from just anyone. She can only drink from either a dhampir or a bosorcoi. A further complication is her curse.”
“Curse?” Draco and Hadrian spoke simultaneously.
“Yes, she was cursed by Baba Yaga before we were born,” Bricriu sighed. “The curse states her restrictions.”
“There’s a but at the end of that sentence,” Hadrian growled.
“Moroi control your dhampir!” Bricriu thundered.
“Hades, let him speak,” Draco murmured in his ear.
“But there was something Baba Yaga didn’t tell our father. She cursed her to never find her mates in her home and as time goes by she will be unable to control her growing power or her hunger. Her mates are the only ones who can help her control her power and sate her growing hunger. Our father may be the Japanese ambassador here for both communities but he didn’t have to bring my sister. Except her power has become difficult for her to control and as you saw she has a temper.”
“She’s an empath,” Draco muttered to himself.
“Who the fuck told you that?” Bricriu growled, his aura darkening considerably.
“She did,” Draco answered softly.
“Kuso yarō!” He cursed. “She knew who you were at least subconsciously. That’s why she told you. That’s beside the point. My point being that she needs to feed, now, or she will start to lose the tenuous control she has.”
“That’s all?” Hadrian smirked. He’d been feeding Draco for the better part of 2 years. He could feed her too.
“I will warn you, she will fight this. Maybe not tonight but she will fight your connection with her. Do not let her lose control.”
“Big brother much?” Hadrian teased.
“She’s a day older than me,” he shrugged. “Oh and you might want to make sure you throw up some privacy spells and make sure they are extra strong.”
“Trust me we know all about that,” Hadrian smirked while Draco blushed.
They had had several times where they had sex after Draco fed. It certainly increased, well everything.
“Trust me, no you don’t,” Bricriu sighed. “She emits pheromones before and during feeding that literally forces you to fuck her. As it stands, only Draco can get her pregnant but with the curse it could change things. And before you ask, no you cannot avoid the sex. It’s original purpose was, and still is, for propagation. Now go before she goes berserk.”
“Wait, when was the last time she fed?” Draco asked.
“Probably had some in the sake she transfigured at dinner but that likely evaporated when her magic recognized you and your dhampir. She will likely have to carry small phials of your blood with her until she gets control of herself and accepts your bond. Which of you is alpha?”
Neither Draco or Hadrian replied.
“Oh for the love of, who the fuck tops when you fuck?”
“Depends on the day,” Hadrian shrugged.
“You have got to be fucking joking! You’re both switches?”
“Switches?” Draco asked.
“Neither dominant or submissive.”
“Yeah I guess.”
“She is not going to like that. Thana is an alpha and if neither of you is fully capable of being submissive she will never accept this even if she needs your blood. At least one of you has to be submissive when it comes to her. I suggest you figure it out quickly. Now, take her to your room and let her feed.”
With that, Bricriu turned and made his way out of the common room. Draco glanced at Hadrian before pulling him to their mate.
“Take her to our room and let her feed,” Draco told him.
“But…” Hadrian began.
“I need to tell Snape about this development,” Draco whispered against his lips.
“He’s not going to like this,” Hadrian whined.
“He’s got no choice,” Draco sighed. “Take her to the room and get started. I’ll be there as soon as I’m done with Snape.”
