“Uncle!” Vi exclaimed. She hadn’t expected him to make the trip here but if he had it didn’t bode well for them.
“So I see you have finally found your mates,” he sneered. “When were you planning on informing me?”
“I had planned on informing you as soon as I spoke with my father this morning,” she answered calmly.
“And just when did you plan on doing that?” Uncle demanded.
“Sir, I have only just been informed that my father is here and ready to speak with us,” she demurred. “As it is still rather early, I ask that you refrain from raising your voice here. If you must do so, please allow Susanoo to lead us to the headmaster’s office.”
“Who are you to dictate how I speak, huh girl?”
Vi flinched at his tone but hid it well. She was used to this kind of vitriol from him. He’d been dealing it out to her for as long as she could remember.
“She may not have the right to dictate how you speak but as head of this house, I most certainly do,” Snape snapped moving to stand between her and her uncle. “Now, before we wake up the rest of this house we will take this conversation to Professor Dumbledore’s office.”
Snape’s tone left no room for argument and for once Vi saw her uncle silenced. She was glad Snape had gotten him to shut up too. It was far too goddamn early for this shit.
“This way, your highnesses,” Susanoo indicated the still open door to the common room.
Vi moved to follow her uncle and brother when Hadrian caught her hand. She glanced over her shoulder but couldn’t stop to listen to his words without her uncle getting angrier than he already was. She tugged his hand gently, asking him to follow and not speak just yet. He nodded and followed her; her hand still clutched tightly in his own. The group silently made their way to the entrance of the headmaster’s office.
“Ice mice,” Susanoo told the gargoyle.
The gargoyle bowed and began to move aside.
“Those two will not follow us into the office, this is a family matter,” her uncle spat, causing the gargoyle to stop its movement.
“Uncle Ryoshi, they’re her mates so that makes them family,” Iv told him.
“They cannot be considered family, especially that one,” Uncle Ryoshi sneered pointing to Hadrian.
Before Vi’s mind registered what she was doing, her body was moving.
“That young man is my dhampir whether or not you like it!” She hissed baring her fangs. “You cannot undo what has already been done and should you try, gods damn the consequences I will kill you in the slowest way possible.”
