Regret- Hadrian

Regret- Hadrian

Hadrian wrapped his arms around Draco. He could tell that Draco felt bad about mentioning Vi’s exposed back. He was shaking with silent sobs. When Bastian brought her over, Draco nearly yanked her away from him. Hadrian had to remind him that Bastian needed to heal her arms, then he could pull her to them. Which he did as soon as her brother let her go. Draco didn’t see her eyes follow her brother out of the room but he did. He decided not to say anything, especially when his own father went after him.

“I’m ok watoshi no ai,” Vi whispered to him. “I was simply overwhelmed by the emotions flowing through the room. Emotions have been very high all morning and it all caught up to me all at once.”

He felt Draco sag in relief against them. This pulled a small laugh from Vi.

“Ok, how about that traditional Japanese breakfast now?” She chuckled.

Draco looked up from where he had dropped his head on her shoulder.

“Does food sound good, love?” She asked him in fluent French.

Draco’s eyes widened in obvious surprise.

“You speak French?” Narcissa questioned from beside Lucius at the fireplace.

“I speak many languages fluently,” Vi replied. “I am a princess and it is my duty as the daughter of the Japanese ambassador to both communities to be able to communicate with the leaders of other nations. Besides, I like learning languages Lady Malfoy.”

“When you speak French it sounds like you’re from Paris,” Draco whispered leaning in to speak into her ear.

“You should hear me speak Gaelic,” she retorted switching flawlessly to another language, Hadrian was fairly sure it was Gaelic. But as his familiarity with the language was not very high, he couldn’t be absolutely certain.

Hadrian felt Draco shiver again. Startled by the blatant disregard for the fact his parents, Regulus, and Vi’s siblings were still in the room, Hadrian smacked the back of his head. Draco turned to him with a savage glare.

“Save it for the bedroom,” he growled at them.

Vi laughed and stepped out of the circle of their arms. She extended her hand.

“Show me to the kitchen?” She asked Draco.

Hadrian shook his head with a smile as Draco took her hand and led her from the room.

“You’re good for her,” the young Prince said coming to stand beside him.

Hadrian looked down at him.

“I’ve never heard my sister laugh in all my life,” he continued. “Bash, he saved her life when we found out she wasn’t like other bosorcoi. He tied himself to her in order to save her. It was only because of the two of you that that bond broke.”

“What do you mean by that?” Lucius asked.

Hadrian looked to him.

“She had to form an incomplete mate bond with him in order to live,” the young prince told him looking over his shoulder at him.

“Incomplete?” Hadrian mused.

“Yes,” the prince didn’t elaborate.

“Hiro, don’t you think you should explain to them how a mate bond works?” Bricriu asked.

“Hah?”

Bricriu sighed. Hiro rolled his head to look at his older brother.

“They should know how a mate bond works,” Hiro told him. “Unless they are not mates and therefore not bonded.”

Lucius and Narcissa looked away. Their marriage was contractual and not a love match. Thus, they were bonded as mates. Hiro’s eyes drifted to him.

“Hadrian, you’re mated. Tell me, how did Draco make you his mate?”

Hadrian flushed and looked at his feet.

“He fed and then made me mark him,” he whispered.

“Yes, it’s called mutual marking. Many times both parties feed but if one is not bosorcoi then there is no need for both to feed as long as both end up marked. Which reminds me…”

Hadrian can you bring everyone to the dining room for breakfast? Vi’s voice in his head cut off him hearing what Hiro was going to ask. Though, he suspected it had something to do with the fact that his sister didn’t bear any visible mating markings.

“Vi says it’s time for breakfast,” he told the group.

“How do you know?” Regulus asked.

Hadrian tapped his temple with a finger before making his way out of the room.
