Vi didn’t see the young man leading her to the dorms stop, causing her to run into his back. She stumbled and ended up using his back to steady herself.
“Then how could she have…?” The young man in front of her seemed unable to complete his thought.
“My obaa-san is from the Oda clan but after the fall of the shogunate her branch of the clan left to Scotland for a time. They returned to Japan but left once again when they disagreed with their imperialist building policy prior to the Second World War.” She sighed. “She met my ojiisan at Hogwarts when he came on exchange from Mahoutokoro.”
“I didn’t know they did stuff like that,” the young man said.
“Yeah, Mahoutokoro does it all the time,” Vi replied. “My otousan met my okaasan at Ilvermony by way of Castlebruxo and Koldovstoretz. Are we there yet?”
“We’ve been here since I stopped,” he told her.
“Oh.”
Vi flushed with embarrassment. She had started talking to distract herself from the pounding in her skull. Nerves had kept her talking to the stranger in front of her.
“Parseltongue,” he said and the stone wall in front of them began to slide apart, revealing the Slytherin common room. “Your dorm should be down the hall to the left. I suspect your father asked for a private room for you.”
“Ha!” She scoffed. “As if he would do that.”
The blonde in front of her gave her a confused look.
“I highly doubt my father catered to my needs,” she grumbled. “We may be royalty in Japan but my father refuses to acknowledge that fact outside of it. He’s the spare after all.”
“The spare?” The blonde asked.
“Yes, my uncle is next in line for the throne.” She shrugged. She didn’t really care one way or another.
“You don’t want a private room?” He asked.
Vi rolled her eyes.
“Who wouldn’t?” She countered. “But due to my ‘gift,’ I’m sure he asked for a private room. Thank you.”
“For what?” He asked.
“Leading me here and listening to my rambling,” she answered.
“I thought you knew the way here?” He smirked.
Vi rolled her eyes and stuck out her hand.
“Visha but I go by Vi,” she told him.
“Draco,” he chuckled taking her hand in his.
