Theo sighed in relief. The tension in the room had been so thick he could have cut it with a spell. During the laughter, Theo himself merely smiled but took the opportunity to study both of the new students. The girl, whose name he didn’t know (he wasn’t paying attention to her introduction in the Great Hall), was tall. She just about matched Draco in height. Her body was certainly lithe but had generous curves. Her hair was long and shimmered in the low lights of the common room. While her hair was black it was shot through with colored strands that gave it the look of a galaxy. Her eyes were the color of Draught of the living death. And from what he could tell, missed very little. Her brother on the other hand, stood about his height perhaps a little shorter and his hair was the color of espresso. His eyes were fire whiskey shot through with chocolate and butterbeer. The twins were a study of opposites, one dark and one light. If the yellow and black tie around Bricriu’s neck was any indication, he was the lighter twin. While his sister’s sorting into Slytherin didn’t mean she was dark necessarily but there was an air about her that radiated danger. She was a dangerous, unknown entity on the board. Theo didn’t like not knowing what a player’s motivations were. This girl was the epitome of a mystery and he didn’t like it. He could tell her magick was hard to control and barely leashed. That alone made him instantly wary of her.
“Well, now that that’s out of the way care to introduce us?” Hadrian asked the girl.
“Surely Dumbledore introduced him like he did me?” She laughed.
“Actually he didn’t,” Theo replied.
This caused her to curse violently in Japanese.
“Bricriu Oda meet Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, Theodore Nott, and Hadrian Potter.”
Theo was a little stunned. He’d not said a word of introduction to her and yet she knew his name.
“Now talk,” she ordered.
“I saw you leave the Great Hall,” Bricriu said. “Had to make sure you were in control.”
“Did they send you to keep me in check?” She hissed angrily.
Theo knew the girl’s magick was barely leashed and apparently so did her family. That alone meant that they didn’t trust her to control her magick. If needed he could form a relationship with her family and use them as a threat to keep her in line. Little did he know that Vi was hardly threatened by anyone in her family except for her older brother.
