Epilogue to Chapter 22: Granting wishes

Epilogue to Chapter 22: Granting wishes

Night time came and a thunder storm was running rampant through the skies. Rain came pouring down as Rosa and her uncle waited for the candidates

10:00 pm.

The first candidate came and it was a tall handsome young man looking prim and proper for any types of situations. He carries an aura of success and a smile of confidence. His body had muscles protruding out of his attire showing that he was very athletic. He smiled in Rosa’s direction which made her heart beat faster when she looked at him. She shyly turned away hiding the blush on her face. “I have four signatures here sir. More than enough I hope?” He spoke confidently as he pulls out four sealed letters.

“!!! I thought you said they were signatures. Why letters?” Rosa said to her uncle.

“They are Rosa. They are ‘signatures of approval’ by the other companies. Inside are deals that we are trying to get through.” He whispered back to Rosa.

“Oh… So… wait! Four!? Why does he have four!?” Rosa couldn’t believe it.

“Oh… Maybe because I was lucky?” the first guy shrugged.

“… Alright Emanuel. You can leave now.” The uncle waved and the first candidate left.

“Uncle! Does this mean that he won!?” Rosa didn’t want to believe it.

“No it doesn’t… As I’ve said before, we had six predetermined company given out. Doesn’t mean that it is limited to six Rosa.” He stated calmly.

“… So how many more uncle? Company signatures I mean.” Rosa asked him.

“… You’ll know after this Rosa. Just sit tight and watch” he places his hand on Rosa’s shoulder to tell her to calm down.

Half an hour later, a second candidate came in. It was a boy who looked no older than ten with white hair. The boy nervously came up with one signature.

“!? Dad tried set me up with a kid?” Rosa whispered to her uncle.

“… He is not a kid Rosa. He is already eighteen… He only had a rare disease that stopped his aging for a bit…” the uncle whispered back.

“Sorry I could only get one signature” he said and bowed. After that, he left without a word.

“… That first guy must’ve been that good…” the uncle cocks his head back and smiled. Rosa also agreed in her heart.

Another half hour passed and the third candidate came. To her surprise, it was a female. Rosa’s mouth twitched because it was a female. It wasn’t like Rosa wasn’t in a relationship with a female before. But… her father setting her up with a girl? That was not to be expected.

The woman came in wearing a long blue business attire and laid down three signatures. But the strangest thing she said next was, “Sorry. I got three but I have to resign.” And turned towards the door.

Now that was a shocker. The uncle could not believe what he’d just heard. The girl just gave up on the competition!

But the moment she’d opened the door, Jin came through the door soaking wet. The woman who saw his face looked away as he passes her. They accidentally bumped and the girl fell to the ground as if she’d lost all strength. But when Jin tried to help her back up, she pushed him away with all her strength and ran like the wind leaving Jin on the ground in pain but laughing.

This confused the Rosa and her uncle. What went on between the girl and Jin?

He patted down his clothes and brushes the dirt away from his clothes still laughing by himself and finally got up to walk to them.

He laid the suitcase down and said, “The suitcase has no money left… So it is a little light. Hope you don’t mind that” and left like those before him without another word.

When the two opened the suitcase, there was only one wide and thin envelope. A vein popped up on the uncle’s head. “The f*ck? Only one signature? This is what we’ve waited for and he gave us just ONE?” the uncle angrily tosses the envelope into the trash. The uncle nearly had a heart attack when he saw the one envelope.

The uncle was so angry that he stomped all the way down to confront Jin. Down on the entrance level, he was waiting for Rosa.

“What the hell!? Why do you only have one!?” The uncle shouted.  But Jin just ignored the uncle.

The uncle could’ve beaten the guy up. But he didn’t want to stay there any longer because he might kill Jin. So he left leaving Rosa behind driving off in an expensive car.

Rosa couldn’t understand it. ‘How was it that Jin only brought one signature back?

She picks up the envelope and ran right down. Down there, Jin was waiting for her.

When she caught sight of him, she called out to him. “Jin!”

“Hm? I’ve been waiting” He stood up and welcomed her with open arms with a warm hug. “Hello hello hello how have you-“

Rosa shoved him off and didn’t even let him finish. Her face all red and up in tears. “Why!? Why did you not put in any efforts?”

“Huh? What are you talking about Rosa?” Jin did not even know what she was talking about.

She pulls out the envelope that her uncle threw in the trash. “THIS! WHY… is there only one?” the make up on her face was practically ruined because of the streams going down her cheeks.

“… What the hell? Was that the only problem? *sigh* I can’t even get a hug from someone I am helping…” He sighed and stood back up with a discontent look on his face. “Open it Rosa”

“What?” she thought she heard wrong.

“I said to open it Rosa.” He points to the envelope in her hand.

She didn’t know what Jin was thinking, but she opened it like he said. *Riiiip*slish* She rips the top of the envelope in anger and pulls out the contents inside. Her eyes were filled with shock when she saw what was inside. Thin yet durable paper stacked upon each other that looked transparent but the words on those papers were readable. “Premium!?” Within the envelope was not just one signature. But twelve signatures.

She could not! She could not believe it!

“*sigh* Do you know how hard it was for me to get those? At least give me the benefit of the doubt to get things done Rosa…” Jin sighed.

“B-but… I_I s-saw t-t-that y-you…” Rosa stutters on every word and could not make a full sentence. “But the six!!!!”

“… I’m pretty sure you heard that there was six predetermined companies. But I stayed behind to ask ahead of time of all the other ‘pending companies’. I asked your father and those within the company what they knew about those ‘pending companies’ in which they could help sponsor your father’s company. Your father and I had a deal that if I could get at least fifteen of those ‘pending companies’ together to sign a contracy or give their ‘signatures, then it would be an automatic win for me. But it seems like… *sigh*” Jin rubbed his head because of a splitting headache.

He had to go to many companies to negotiate with them. Each produced a ‘premium contract’ which are thinner than paper but more durable than steel.  The terms cannot and could not be violated on those premium papers. If it should be violated, then the side who violates it first would face serious repercussions. “Oh and what I mean by pending companies are those companies who were already thinking about sponsoring your father’s companies but needed an extra push to be convinced. I was that extra push. Sadly… I missed three so… sorry about that Rosa.”

It was funny how Jin got those premium contracts. He learned how to negotiate in business and negotiate well. He had to… abuse his underworld title… in a sense. But it was all fair in business. He also played fair enough so that both side could also profit. Thus he had to make them give premium contracts.

What Jin didn’t know that premium contracts were hard to come by and none of the other candidates had these contracts. All they got were plain ‘signatures’ which were just ordinary contracts.

Rosa stood there stunned and could not say anything. She’d thought that Jin did not even bother to try. He was doing charity work the entire time but still showed up by the end of the day with so many contracts. ‘How did he do it?’ she wondered. But the more she thought about it, the more she could not believe it.

Jin stood there waiting at the door to see if she was going with him. But his feet started to hurt and he didn’t want to wait any longer.

“Well… I am not going to stay here Rosa. Gotta go home.” He said and then walked right out the door.

“Going home huh… okay…” she mutters. ‘Wait a minute! Jin!!’ Only then did she remember that he came to the company all wet.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

She ran out the door and an amazing spectacle played right out before her. She did not know when. But the rain turned into snow and the snow became small demonic spikes that built up on Jin’s back and head. Even small little snow horns looked like it was growing on top of his head. But the snow felt alive as it danced around Jin like fairies. It didn’t even feel like it was scary around him.

Jin turns right back around and said, “See you tomorrow Rosa” and waved off playing and jumping in the winter wonderland like a kid. When he turned right back around, his silhouette flickered and the image of Jin’s back was no longer his own. But the image of the Cyan Conqueror.

Rosa thought she’d seen an illusion because he was not dressed in a business attire but wore a silk white outfit colored in the hues of winter.  She rubbed her eyes in disbelief. But when she reopens her eyes, Jin was already gone. ‘What the?’ she wondered what she’d seen. She quickly got into her car to find Jin.

Lucian was an on looker from far away and he too saw the silhouette of the Cyan Conqueror. Why? It was because the qi Jin was exuding belonged to the Cyan Conqueror. It was also because Jin is also the Cyan Conqueror. The Cyan Conqueror also loved snow just as much as Jin did. In the moment of happiness of seeing snow, he unconsciously released a great wave of cold qi.

Lucian could feel the fear of the Cyan Conqueror since he too knew what the Cyan Conqueror was. Lucian could even feel that the heavens was also trembling in fear. If the Cyan Conqueror really did return, then an old enemy of the heavens might show up and could reawaken the old nightmare in the heavens. Only, they did not know where that feeling came from. But it was also because they did not want to find the Cyan Conqueror that they left him alone.

‘Yeeesh… I thought he’d used most of that cold qi by now. But damn is it strong. Oh well… The seal could be repaired early if he keeps using the cold qi discreetly and in a wide spread manner…’ Lucian thought to himself. Repairing the seal was a big chore because he had to do a good job or else the cold qi being produced from the Cyan Conqueror would burst forth and also change Jin.

Rosa finally found Jin running and playing within the snow in the middle of a park. To her, it felt like she was looking at a kid who’d just first discovered snow. A feeling of innocence one could say. But that feeling soon change because he ran without looking and hit a pole along the way.

‘*Pfft!* Ah ha ha ha!’ she laughed inwardly. She saw the bitter crying expression on Jin’s face which was hilarious. She was no longer mad or sad. She’d forgotten that he could make a person feel a lot of emotion and change it all in an instant because it was who Jin was.

He no longer frolic like a kid but walked like an embarrassed adult because so many people saw the small accident. Rosa quickly drove back to Meracle’s house to tell her the funny event.

Jin came back home all wet like before and had to quickly take a shower. As he bypasses the entrance to the living room, he heard many roaring laughters. But Jin ignored them because… he had to take a shower. His body smelled of sweat, snow, and … well… sweat. His headache was getting the better of him and he did not even care about the voices.

“What? Jin got your uncle mad? He didn’t even know that it was your uncle? Ah ha ha ha ha!” Meracle laughed while holding her stomach.

“Mmmm  My uncle’s face was all red and really was about to lose his mind. When he saw the envelope, his face collapsed. I did as well because I really thought I put my trust in someone who can’t keep his promise. He proved me wrong.” Rosa’s face lightened up.

“Wait Rosa. Did he pass or no? Your uncle didn’t even bother to look at the letter.” Mirana was concerned about Rosa’s uncle.

“Eh. Uncle Joe… I’ll tell him tomorrow. He is most likely angry and would not believe me Miri unless I have proof.” Rosa shook her head and sighed.

“… But he actually got twelve? Jin? Is getting premium contract that amazing?” Gisela frowned.

“Well… It is but based on the content of what most of these are saying, it is basically a one sided deal where my father’s company will undoubtedly grow without a risk. The other sides can back off but they will face a great deficit as well. Which is why the premium contracts Jin brought back is truly astonishing. But in the contract, it seemed like someone made it more fair so everyone would gain profit. So I see no problems.” Rosa explains. “Heh heh… I didn’t think he would be so capable. He really does have many secrets. I’m just scared to think of it.”

Jin finally came out of the bathroom wearing only a pair of shorts still top naked. He walked right over and fell asleep on the bed. The four girls’ mouths gaped open because they could not believe he was so shameless. The girls could do it around each other because they were girls. The girls could do it at their own home. But Jin just came in without a care.

“J-Jin! Where are your clothes!?” Meracle shouted.

“…Nggghhh… Do I have to?” He groaned.

“!!! This isn’t your house! Go get some clothes and put them on!” She told him.

Jin groaned once more before rolling off the bed to put some clothes on.

“He… is just like a kid…” Gisela felt shocked. Even if he was tidy and good at doing house chores. He was an unexpected kid at heart.

Rosa and Mirana smiled because they already knew that he was a child at heart. They’d seen him act like a kid even in high school playing with flowers, grasses, and butterflies where ever he go.

Meracle scoffed because she felt like his mother instead of a landlady. But she couldn’t help but to smile as well. He was a person easy to get along with, easy going, and feels like he was full of life no matter what he does.

“… Must be fun living with him huh Meracle.” Rosa felt envious of Meracle.

“Huh? Fun?” Meracle winced. “We rarely do anything fun. It is mostly him trying to mess with me”

“But you like it though” Rosa wickedly grinned.

Meracle’s face grew red. “I don’t know what you are talking about. Maybe you like it”

“I do like it” Rosa admits.

“!!!” Meracle heard something she didn’t think she would hear.

Rosa smiled playfully and said, “If you do kick him out one day Meracle. I’ll take him off your hands ^.^”

“*Humph* Take him! I don’t care” Meracle snorted.

Just then, Jin came right behind her to say, “Oh? Really? Then who would make your food in the morning Meracle? Who would wash your clothes? Clean up after your messes? I know you can do it, but I do it better.”

“!!!! … Nghh... Go away!” She angrily snorts.

Jin sat directly behind Meracle, wraps his arms around her and pulled Meracle’s body to his own. “Aww Don’t be so cold. That makes me sad…” he made a pouted face and pointed to his lips to signal for her to kiss him.

“*Gasp!* Pervert!” She tries to smack him away but all she hit was air.

“Hum* hum* hum* hum* You’re not going to reach my face with those short and slender hands.” Jin began to make fun of Meacle.

“Y-you!!!!!” There was nothing more infuriating than Jin at the moment to Meracle. Using her flexible body and legs, she gave a good left kick aiming at Jin’s head. But what happened didn’t go her way.

He grabbed her left leg in mid-air. “NOPE! ^.^ Can’t hit my face Meracle. What are you going to do now?”

“Don’t bite your tongue” She threatened him.

He snorted at her words and used his hands to run down Meracle’s left leg and stopped at her thighs. “Dare me?”

“Don’t you dare” she growled.

“Alright then Meracle. You asked for it!” Jin wickedly grinned.

“Huh?” Meracle felt disappointed.

But he didn’t. He just lets her go and went back onto the bed to sleep. “Wish granted. Good night Meracle. See you in the morning.” Jin said as if he didn’t care anymore.

“What? Weren’t you about to?” She thought he was really about to grope her.

“All I did was grant your wish. Or is it possible that you are regretting it” He grinned.

“… Shut up and go to sleep. Just disappear! ” She angrily mutters.

“…” Jin got right back up and began to walk out the door.

“Wh-what? Where are you going?” She was puzzled as to where he was going and chased after him.

“Hm? Didn’t you ask me to disappear?” He cocked his head.

“I didn’t mean that for real!” Meracle really didn’t mean what she’d said.

“… Then why say it if you don’t mean it?” He slumped his shoulders.

Meracle got even angrier. “I was just angry! Can’t you tell that I was just playing around?”

“…” He didn’t say anything and walked right off. The snow became more savage turned into a storm that blew out relentlessly.

“Wha? Why is did the snow turned into a blizzard!?” Gisela cried out.

“I’ll grant you your wish Meracle.” His voice echoed within the blizzard. When the girls reopened their eyes, he was nowhere to be seen. They quickly got back inside the house because the storm was too strong.

“*Pfft* He is probably just playing like a kid would when they are angry. He’ll show up.” Meracle snorted.

“. . . I don’t think he will Meracle. Like he said, he’ll grant you your wish.” Rosa said to her.

“. . . He will come back. Right?” She mutters softly.

“. . . He might come back tomorrow Meracle.” Gisela patted on Meracle’s shoulder. “Let’s get some rest. It’s already late. I’m sure he’ll be home making breakfast by tomorrow morning”

“Yeah. I’m sure he will. He really did say that you mean worlds to him right? So he’ll be back” Mirana also comforted her.

The girls all moved to Meracle’s room to sleep for the night.

In the middle of the night, a sound woke Meracle. She’d thought Jin came back. But all it was in the end was just the door being blown by the wind and rattling loudly.

Meracle shook her head and then checked the living room. No one was there either. “… That idiot… I didn’t mean what I’d just said…” Seeing that there was nothing, she went back up to sleep.
