Chapter 13: Was this the reason why?

Chapter 13: Was this the reason why?

Just before Jin was home, the four girls woke up one by one. Even though they were awake they stayed silent for a good fifteen minutes. ‘The more someone knows about me, the more complicated things get and the sadder they might feel once they know. Just too much sad drama. I don’t like drama. So it is best if everyone knows less about me and feels nothing when I am gone. The only thing I am wishing for is her happiness and to live in peace until the designated time for me to leave. So for her sake, don’t tell her. I’ll also be happier that way as well.’ Jin’s words echoes in their mind.

Some of the girls tried to shake off the sad feelings. No matter how much they tried, the words, “The more someone knows about me, the more complicated things get” kept on repeating in their minds. Only Mirana and Meracle knew how true his words were. When Mirana saw his terribly scarred back, she knew that it was Jin from her high school. She knew him as an innocent person.

Why innocent? It was because she also saw him going on a date once. Mirana had to admit, she stalked Jin once because she was interested in him. It really couldn’t be called a date. The girl spent all of his money, tricked him to believing that they were lovers and betrayed him right in front of him. Jin did nothing and just walked away in silence all the way home. But Jin acted as if it was nothing and came back smiling in school saying it was his fault and that she and him would never ever date again because of him.

Meracle was uneasy because of what Dennis told her. That he already killed people when he was four. If that was true, then how many people has he killed to just survive all the way till now?

“Meracle” A dry voice came from Mirana.

“Huh? What is it Miri?” Meracle’s tired voice lets out a soft reply. (Miri is Mirana for short if some of you don’t know.)

“How much do you know about Jin? Like really. Don’t try to hide anything either” She asks Meracle.

“Honestly? Not much more than any of us here. The most he’d ever shown was yesterday. But if you really want to know, then you might as well be prepared.” Meracle sadly said.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” This got the other three confused.

“I mean that what Jin said was true. The more someone knows about him, the more complicated things get. I am not even sure who he is anymore.” Meracle weakly said.

“What do you mean? You saw him yesterday right? The man was strong enough to save people who he did not know. He also considers you something close to a friend. That has got to be the highest ranking on his list besides family.” Rosa said.

“That’s just it. By himself, he is just a person who acts weak. In front of others, he pretends not to have the strength or courage to fight back. That was how he lived for many years and so all I knew about him that he was weak and gutless person. When I first saw him in such a long time, I saw that he was naked, alone in the rain, without the knowledge of his family gone, and had no friends to rely on. He was also stealing my clothes that day as well. But what I saw in his eyes was a pitiful person asking for help but no one around to lend a hand. In truth, when I first met him a few days ago, if it wasn’t for the fact that he was so pitiful then I would’ve let him rot in the streets without a care regardless if I was depressed by Jason or not.” Meracle admits.

The words Meracle just said were true. Even if the three wanted to refute her, they couldn’t. If the person that begged them was as hopeless and weak as Jin, they would not even bother to help him. Why? It would mean that there was one more mouth to feed and another burden to carry. No one would want an extra burden to carry. If they were Meracle on that very day, they would not even bat an eyelash to a man who was so pitiful. Stealing clothes as well? They would be fuming angry. They would’ve beaten him up and let him rotting in the streets as well.

“That is why I don’t know anymore. Originally, he signed a contract I made to be a servant of sort until he stabilize his own life and leaves whenever. The food I was supposed to provide for him? He stocked up the empty fridge by himself and made the food even better than I do. He keeps clean of his surroundings as well. The clothes I was supposed to provide for him wasn’t in the contract but he soon was able to get himself some clothes. All this he did on the very first day but I did not notice until later when I saw that he ran through town to use the volunteer system to its fullest on the TV while he was asleep not too long ago.” Meracle said. When she saw that Jin was actually capable of providing himself a living and more of a help than a burden, she felt that she had nothing to worry about.

“Even on the day when he save you Rosa, the first thing he did was come home and to make some food for me with a smile. I was angry at first when I saw his shadowy outline. But when he smiled at me, it made me forget all the anger and I was overcome with joy. The entire time, he was here and there keeping a big smile on his face.” Meracle smiled. She was remembering the day when she saw Jin from the hospital. She thought that she was drunk.

“Only once, did he tell me something personal. As you know, my family was overly religious and practically kisses the ass of the church. I am somewhat similar as well. So when he said that he does not believe in god but does not tell the reason why, I got mad. Instead he told me an old part of his childhood that he lived through poisonous soup by a miracle. Instead of trying to understand, I rebuked him. When I did know a little about him, I was scared but soon forgot because he was always smiling” Meracle continues to say.

“Eh? Something scary about Jin?” Rosa raised an eye brow at Meracle’s statement. Indeed they just knew a little about him and if knowing just a little more about him made Meracle scared, then Jin wasn’t wrong. “Then tell us. If we know even a little more about Jin, then it’ll mean that he’ll have one more person that can understand him.” Rosa was determined to know more about him.

“Rosa? This is the first time I heard of you caring so much about one person much less a man. I remember hearing you paying for Jin’s medical bills.  If I’m correct, you’d rarely spend a dime on a man and that was why most of the men broke up with you.” Gisela pointed out.

“T-that was something I had to do! He saved my life and so I had to pay for his medical bill! But it still feels like I repaid him cheaply… “, Rosa replied with a deep red streak running across her face. When Gisela pointed out that she was a real money scrounger and that was the reason why many men broke up with her, she was angry.” As for the men I broke up with, I wanted a real man who could support both himself and his girlfriend. Not a one sided deal where I have to pay for everything!*HMPH!*”

“But I have to agree with Rosa. A man like that, regardless of what kind of small scary secret he has, does not deserve to be alone like that. Especially when he is that good someone he counted as close to a friend.” Mirana interjects.

Meracle looked at their eyes and could tell that Jin’s first impression really made a big impact on them.

“Alright. But just don’t say it to anybody else.” Meracle said seriously.

“Alright” They all agreed.

“A guy from my workplace named Dennis told me a little about Jin. He told me that he witnessed Jin’s growth. Jin was born in a homeless shelter during the depression unlike most of us being able to be born in a hospital. But unlike us, he was also born premature two months.” Meracle started to say.

“P-premature? Then how does he look so damn good? Surely you’re lying!” Gisela said in disbelief. But Meracle just gave a serious look at her. “O-okay. You’re not lying. P-please continue Meracle.”

Meracle paused thinking whether or not to tell them. She gave a long sigh and then resumes. “Jin’s family was in the shelter for a while and in that time, Jin grew up with his mother, father, brother and sister.  When he was four, the homeless shelter decided to thin out the crowd and puts poison in the soup on the day they decided to distribute food. Unlike the many others that died, Jin and his family survived because it was only one bowl of soup and was divided up among his father and mother. But they were lucky. Others who did the same died. When the others heard that Jin and his family survived, they took their sadness out on his family. For seven days straight, his family did not fight back and only took the beatings.” Meracle said. She retells the first half of the poisonous soup.

“My god… that’s terrible.” Rosa said in disbelief.

“Mmmh but it didn’t end there. From what Dennis tells me that on the eight day, everyone unanimously chose to get rid of Jin and his family.” The words came out of Meracle’s mouth were like ice. It sent chills up their spines.

“What? That must’ve been hundreds of people trying to kill them!” Mirana’s eyes widen when she heard of the word unanimously.

“It was. Dennis did not see a thing during that time because he was knocked out. But from what Dennis told me, when Dennis woke back up, he saw Jin standing atop a mountain of corpses. Dennis told me that Jin was like a demon at the time even if he was four. Quoting from Dennis’ words, ‘Jin killed people with whatever he had at lightning speed. Be it hands, feet, mouth, blood, or spit. He truly fought like a demon. He bit the neck and ripped out the arteries, he furiously clawed away their flesh until you could see the white calcium, and broke bones. I didn't know where he pulled such strength from. It was like he was possessed by an unholy being. His eyes were deep red with rage and you can even see the air becoming thick with malice. He pulled his family members one by one to a safe corner and stood there like a demonic sentry protecting them within a ten feet radius. But even after all that, he wasn't given a break. He had to fight the securities and they were worse. But he still killed them mercilessly.’ And it ended when a man to silence everyone with bribes of foods and clothes” Meracle retells the second half. “You’ve all been wondering what would happen if Jin were to get serious and fight right? Now you all know.”

When Meracle was done retelling Jin’s past, everyone was scared. Mirana thought she knew Jin because she saw how he fought so she wasn’t surprised too much. She already knew what he looked like when he was fighting. The only thing he didn’t do was killing when he was in his high school. This tidbit was a slight shocker to her but not overly shocking.

“As far as his personalities goes when he is mad, I think we all can conclude that Jin only fights seriously for someone he cares about. All others, he will not even show his face” Mirana calmly said. This gave Meracle and the others a shock. How was Mirana so calm?

“What? It is not like I haven’t seen Jin fight before. He was in my high school. Just like how Dennis describes him, Jin was like a demon when fighting.” Mirana once again, calmly expresses. “Oh that’s right. I’ve never told anyone that it was Jin. Oh well.” This left the girls speechless with stiff faces. Not even Meracle saw Jin fighting for real! How was it that Mirana saw Jin fighting?

“Mirana! You! Saw! Him! Fight!?” Meracle was practically gasping for air when she heard the words that came out of Mirana’s lips.

“Mmmmmh Yeah. I saw him fight a couple times. But the most memorable was when he took down the ten bullies that ganged up on him.  Honestly? I thought he was just weak at first like you guys said when I saw that. But when I was about to get raped, he really did looked like a demon fighting. He broke arms, legs, ribs, faces and all. Then he smashed their heads to give them memory loss for a good long time.” Mirana recalls. But she left out the part where Jin took their bodies and threw them into the dumpster. If she told them that, they would be scared stiff and Mirana really didn’t want to retell all the scary and near dead funny details. Especially the part when Jin felt her up. When she realizes that Jin had temporary blindness and was trying to help her out by treating her wounds, she felt guilty thinking that he was a dirty pervert.

Mirana’s words only further confirms the authenticity of Meracle’s story. If there was someone he cares about, then he will get serious.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“Then what is he to you Mirana? Is he someone that is just there to help out? Or was it something more?” Rosa ask Mirana. Rosa’s mind had always been sharper than anyone in her class. Thus she must’ve concluded that Mirana was someone to Jin.

“Ah not really anything much. I’ve seen Jin before. He even helps out whenever possible. Just that he sometimes chose not to help people because his body was badly hurt. There were times when others were bullied so badly that he jumps in to help” Mirana was trying to avoid the question.

“That was not the question I asked Mirana. I said, ‘what is he to you or rather what are you to him?’ Mirana?” Rosa kept on insisting.

“…”

Everyone had expectations in their eyes and it was all focused on Mirana now.

“I assumed that you were his high school crush right? But you never ever paid direct attention to anyone right?” Rosa then edges near Mirana.

Mirana’s eyes shifted to the side to avoid eye contact.

“AH HA! I knew it! We’re all from the same high school. So don’t deny it Mirana. I remembered that right after junior year, you were always mesmerized by someone and was always dazed even when you were with your boyfriend. Now I know who it is! So it was Jin! You were the reason why the number of bullies had increased!” Rosa outwardly pointed. Mirana was shocked when she realize the truth in Rosa’s words. The reason why she could never talk to him was because she was always looking at him and thus every boys in the school was jealous and continuously bullied him. The increase of bullies was her fault!

“…*Sigh* I hate you for being so smart and right…” Mirana mutters. Rosa only smirks in reply. But when Rosa realized what she’d just said, her jaws dropped. ‘Wait! If what I said is true, then… the guy I’ve been ignoring and ignoring my entire school years was Jin…. And he is the one Mirana fell for!!!!!!? She was the reason why Jin’s number of bullies increased!!!!!!!? She was the reason why I couldn’t bully him in high school!?’

“And? So what? As far as I know, I heard that I was no longer his high school crush after I got a boyfriend. He stopped looking at me after my sophomore years. Even if it was residual feelings, I doubt he has any feelings right now anyway. Besides, you heard what he said. He does not love anybody.” Mirana was trying to steer the conversation in a different direction.

“But do you like him Mirana? Answer us truthfully” Rosa pressured Mirana into telling the truth.

“The better question Rosa, is whether or not if you like him” Mirana turns the question back onto her.

“I-I don’t know what you are talking about” Rosa was trying to be sly in denying things with a straight face.

“Don’t lie to us either Rosa. If I don’t know better, you gave your phone number to him didn’t you?” Mirana sharply said.

Rosa was taken aback. ‘How does she know!?’ Rosa’s reaction made things obvious.

“Bulls-eye. I was bluffing Rosa. But who knew your reaction was so good! He he he” Mirana snickers. ‘Who told you to expose me? Now I’ll get my revenge on you!’

“Y-Y-You tricked me! No fair!” Rosa picks up a pillow and throws it right at Mirana.

“He he he he. You are a bad liar Rosa. I know you got a story of your own as well Rosa. Might as well cough up how you fell for him besides the car crash. I know that in middle school both you and Gisela were bullying him not because you were mean but because you were interested in him” Mirana grins.

The two blushed when Mirana pulled on their tails. Indeed what Mirana said was true. Both of them had a reason why they bullied Jin and it was all for their own personal interest.

“Come on Rosa. We all love to hear why you bullied Jin” Gisela could’ve easily slipped away buy she took the chance to egg on Rosa some more to corner her till the end.

“*Tch* Traitor!” Rosa could not believe it. Even Gisela betrayed her. Forget Meracle, she was already in to corner her as well.

“*sigh* Fine. I”ll say it….”Rosa sighed at the loss. Everyone eared closer to her story.

“ngh… I was stalking Jin in middle school because he was my middle school crush…” Rosa quietly admits.

“WHAT!?” A bigger shock than when Mirana calmly replied to the murder story.

“… Okay. I admit. I had a crush on the guy when he was in middle school. I don’t know why but he just interested me. So I ordered some of my dad’s bodyguards to stalk him. One day, when my dad needed those body guards, I had to stalk Jin myself the entire day.” Rosa continues.

“Hu-Wut?” Gisela felt a little creep-ed out when she heard this. Mirana was the only one thinking, ‘So I wasn’t the only stalker’ and felt better about herself.

“So I stalked him one day bringing a girl to an amusement park. He paid for everything. Literally everything. He paid for rides, foods, and even the entrance fee for him and her. But she even made him pay for her friends to enter and I was naturally one of them. So the entire day, I secretly stalked the two. I eventually learned that the girl used Jin and his hard earned extra money like a cash cow on the terms of dating. You could see the happiness across his dumb face and followed through like an idiot. But that was not the problem. One time, he left her on a bench to get ice creams for her and him. When he came back, he saw the girl he was ‘dating’ was kissing boys after boys. So he turned away, walked a fair distance away, pretends to trip, and shoved the ice creams into his eyes making it looked like he tripped and being sloppy with ice cream eyes. For a minute, I thought he was stupid but what he really was trying to do was to hide his tears. He just ran home crying blubber and all” Rosa angrily mutters. “Maybe this is one of the reasons why he did not love anyone but a similar thing happened in his high school as well.”

“In his high school years, I saw a similar thing. But the only difference was, he brought only the girl he liked, had fun, and overall used like a worn out cash cow again and was tossed away miserably. What the girl did was unforgivable. She led him into a bathroom, knocked him out, tied him up, and showed herself being b*kk*ked by many men at the time. She even finished with a c***m-p** and a c*m-sh*w*r. He was left there crying on the floor. Even I felt disgusted and pitied him. The sorry man had his heart broken twice and in the worst ways. I stopped bullying him for a long time and ignored him for a while as well to get rid of any thoughts of him being my crush. But who knew he would reappeared in front of me again like this in a sorry state. *Sigh*” Rosa concluded. She sighed because she told something really personal.

“Oh… Wow… Dayum… That’s cold… Even I would give up love after that…” Gisela, hearing this, felt bad that she bullied Jin.

But Mirana was still sharp and knew that Rosa avoided the last question. Her eyes glared at Rosa making her resign to her intelligence.

“But the reason I bullied Jin wasn’t because I saw Jin was kind and easy. I bullied him because…. He was really responsible despite looking weak and spineless. He paid for his fees, his date’s fees, and many other people’s fees. So, from there on out, I would often strip him down and… rape his lips” Rosa continues to mutter in a softer voice.

“EH!?” The girls were just flabbergasted. Their friend was a great pervert!

‘I have to admit. It was enjoyable. His screams of help were satisfying. The way he tried to worm his way… mmmmmmm delicious. His little ***** would get hard just by a small kiss. I could barely hold myself back from touching it he he he’ Rosa licked her lips while continuing to reminisce.

Each of their face twitched greatly when they saw the perverted face she was making. ‘So Jin’s first kiss was stolen by her? …’ Mirana and Meracle stared menacingly at Rosa while she was still in a daze. They really never felt so much passion in their life until now.

“Alright Gisela, your turn! No mercy! Tell us straight. For what reason did you bully him! I know it was more than just fun!” Rosa quickly pointed towards Gisela putting her on the spot. ‘This is what you get for betraying me! Be ready to feeling the pain of truth!’

“Oh that? Well…he looked easy and weak so I bullied him for fun and curiosity…I... Striped him down like you did….” Gisela blushed. When they saw this, they had a bad feeling that they were going to regret a lot.

“But I was curious and played with his man parts and would often have fun watching it grow and shrink. I was also curious about those bell looking things below. I had no idea. So I tugged them every once in a while to see if it would grow. I had the idea that it would grow if I tugged hard enough and I was right. They turned red and swelled up after many tries and bullying sessions. He he…” Gisela embarrassingly answers them.

Now they all knew that Jin never loved because he had so many bad things relating to love happening to him. His jewels were constantly abused to the point of swelling. His lips were raped by a kind sadist who really liked him if that was kindly put into good words. But his girlfriend was a cheating prostitute if she was doing things for money and that was putting her into a nice category. If not, then she was the village bicycle that everyone had a turn to ride on her. They weren’t rare, but that was really bad thing to experience at a young age. They couldn’t think of a worse love story.

When they all reviewed everything, the depressing feeling came back. Everyone except Meracle was a part of Jin’s cause to not like anyone anymore. Some of them saw the horrible treatment and did not do much for him. Some of them pushed him down further which made them feel really guilty about the things they said and did to him or even the things they did indirectly to him. It was like a bad Shakespearian tragedy joke. How could such a man still come out like that?

“If we ever see that cheating h*e, we will deal with her because Jin was too nice.” The unanimously agreed. Rosa knew that if she was a man and had a cheating girlfriend like that, she would made sure to turn the males into eternal eunuchs and labeled the girl into a walking prostitute. The rest of the girls had similar ideas. But they were scared of Meracle if she were to take revenge in Jin’s place. They knew Meracle well because they knew how strong she was whether or not if she used hands or bullets.

Meracle was a little fiercer because she already had her revenge on her boyfriend, Jason, and made him into an example. She took her gun and blasted him in all three jewels and turned them purple through the bb pellets. When he was rolling on the floor, she took a real bullet and shot him in the ass that pierced both cheeks.

The sound of the door opening and closing made them realize Jin was home. When Jin got back home into Meracle’s house, the four girls snapped from the angry sad mood to a happy mood. “So he’s back. I wonder if he can see again” Meracle murmurs wearily. “Let’s try to get to know him even if he doesn’t let us. At the very least, he can’t say that we can’t be counted as close to friends right?” Rosa proclaims. “Mmhm! We’ll make sure that he won’t be lonely ever again!” Gisela agreed. “For sure!” Mirana added. Meracle almost bursted into tears hearing this. “Thanks girls.” Meracle tearfully said.

But in a funny sense, the three girls felt like they owed Jin a lot because they were also part of the reasons why he didn’t like anybody. For Rosa, she raped his lips. For Mirana, she increased the number of bullies bullying him in high school. For Gisela, she was the cause of his traumatic experience in middle school of having swollen man parts.

Jin felt a shiver going up his back when he stepped in but shook it off.
