*the next morning*

Dorian:*Yawns*"So.. fucking... tired."

Lilith:"Well now you know what over using your mana and ki can do to you. Be more conservative."

Dorian:"Whatever."*yawns*

Me an Lilith get out of bed and get ready for the day, then we head out into the hall to find the others waiting, Julian included.

Julian:"Hey Dorian, can i talk to you? In private?" Oh great.

Dorian:"Sure dude, whats up?"Be nice Dorian, youre in this shit for the long run.

We walk down the hall a bit, leaving Lilith, Dag, and Thia at the doors to the rooms.

Julian:"I want to apologize for last night. I was being an ass and the subject of my love life is a bit sensative." Sure, a bit.

Dorian:"Its ok dude, that was just my first life or death situation, and the thought dying by the hands of the ex of the person im protecting, pissed me off more than i thought."

Julian:"Its understandable. As a sign of appreciation for you risking your life, i wanted to let you in on a bit of information. First im going to give you a list of my most prominent stalkers and any ex's i have bad blood with. Second, i want to talk to you about your 'Displaced Hero' title." Finally, some information on whats going on.

Dorian:"Well dont keep me in suspense." I say with a fake, amicable, smile on my face.

Julian:"The reason why you were transported to this world is due to the Empire. My father had the Pope and his Bishops of the Church of the One perform the ritual for the Hero Summoning. The texts that held the ritual were ancient and decrepit, practically falling apart at the seams. They were also in the Lost Language. The language the progenitors on the abandoned continent, used. We still dont have a complete understanding of their language, so the translation for the ritual was a bit messed up."

Thats probably why the ritual got fucked, and i wasnt transported properly.

Julian:"My father had the Pope perform the spell, but due to the mis-translation, the spell got ruined. My father was trying to summon you so he could enslave you, and then have you fight Eternia as his leading lapdog and general."Yeah, the Emperor is so dead.

Dorian:"Did your father think of this on his own, or did your supposed god tell him to do so?"

Julian:"When father found out about the ritual, he was the one who thought to use it. He used many resources to get the materials for the summoning. After it failed, he imprisoned the Pope, claiming that he sabataged the summons. My father and the Pope have always been at odds about how to respond to the other races of Gaia. I think that the reason is that our god has been advocating for peace, but father just wont listen."

Dorian:"Im sorry to say this Julian, but your fathers hubris will be his downfall. If i get the chance, i will kill him, and if your brothers get in the way, i'll kill them too. Not only did your father take me from the life and home i had, he planned on enslaving me and using me for his own agenda. Plus your brothers have been warmongering as much as him, from what ive heard."

Julian:"I understand my father, but dont kill my brothers, they are misguided in their attempts of power and my fathers approval."

Dorian:"Please dont tell me you are actually naive enough to truly believe your brothers are innocent. Ive seen the news, your brothers are warmongers who kill and rape the innocent. People like that need to die. Do you really think that when your father dies, that the succession will be peaceful? No, your brothers and the Nobles behind them, will start a civil war, dividing the Empire. They will either kill you or enslave you. You are the third in line for the throne, a great threat that if not dealt with, can take over before the winner between the two can regain strength. You are the tiebreaker for the throne, you also have the support of the Eternian goverment due to your advocation of peace and equality. You will be a leader for your people, especially when they finally get fatigue from all this warring around. Think about this." Gonna let him stew on that for a while. 

While i may hate politics, i still understand them and will use them to my advantage if need be. Especially if i want to control things from the shadows.

Shit, things are so.. damn... complicated.

Julian:"What do you know of goverments and politics in this world, you come from a completely different world?"He says with an agitated tone.

Calm down Dorian, hes just an idiot.

Dorian:"There are many things i can say in response to your ignorance, but if we start arguing, there was no point in our apologizing to each other." Dont... curse... him... out.

Restraint is hard.

Julian:"Youre right. Sometimes i get too defensive. Plus i dont like the whole situation."

Dorian:"You and me both, lets get back to the others."

As we walk back to the others, i feel Lilith trying to get into mental contact with me. I let her in and tell her what happened.

Lilith:'It was smart of you to let him know about the situation he was in. If he didnt figure it out for himself, we would have been hard pressed keeping him alive after his father dies. He needs to grow up before it costs the lives of thousands. A civil war for the empire, while useful short term, would cause unneeded issues in the future. Especially for relations between Eternia and the Empire.'

Dorian:'Thanks for the reassurance. Ill be damned if something like that happens, we dont need a civil war on our hands. It would especially make getting the notes on the summoning ritual even more of a pain in the ass to get. If i can get those notes, maybe i can reverse engineer the spell and figure out how to send someone back, rather than bring them here.'

Lilith:'I still dont like how you keep wanting to go back. Its like you dont want to have me in your life.'

Dorian:'Dont be like that Lilith, you know i care for you. But how else are you supposed to meet my family. I mean, if not to be going back, maybe i can find a way to talk to my family, make sure theyre okay. For all i know, the summoning could have destroyed my surroundings while leaving me intact. My family could be dead.'

Lilith:'By the gods, i never thought of that. Im so sorry Dorian.'

Dorian:'You have nothing to be sorry for love. Also speaking of death, we never went over who the gods of this reality are. I dont know about you, but i dont want to be trapped in Limbo when i die.'

Lilith:'I'll tell you later Dorian, we should get going, we have some school shopping to do.'

With that, i kiss her and go back to the room to grab the Crow and its weapon case.

Man this is gonna be one hell of a school year.
