"Cleanse"
Levi kept casting the Cleanse skill on his left hand again and again. He had used the spell so many times that it was starting to shine brighter than his future.
Levi was walking down the stairs, and the steps weren't even lit properly, but he didn't care. The feel of that-
'No... don't think about it... forget it... cleanse it.'
The central eye hit Levi on his cheek, pulling him out of this weird trance. Never had he seen Levi so agitated and sweaty.
The pecking worked, and Levi took a deep, calming breath.
'Sorry for worrying you.'
He apologized to his summon, wondering about his behaviour. It wasn't the first time this had happened, not just in this life but back on earth as well.
Anytime he made physical skin contact with humans, dogs, cats, or any living beings would send him into a panic. Even touching something directly dirty would deep fry his circuit.
He hated it and still did.
Levi didn't mind when he or someone else touched him on his clothes. That's why he didn't have a problem when he carried Irene and Brian on his back.
And in the heat of battle, his mind didn't care about such things, but now when he was fully focused on grabbing, the disgust just stuck to his mind.
But there were exceptions as well. His mother, father, brother, and a girl of his past.
'I wonder what she is— Don't think about her now. She is living her best life.....I hope. Focus Levi, just focus.'
Levi activated Hunter's eyes, and the night vision power updated, making it easier for him not to slip. Unlike the standards of these materialistic bastards, their stairs were quite sloppy; one wrong step and Levi would be riding a slip to hell.
Also, the fact that the whole stairs were covered in blood stains spoke enough about what was going on.
'But why has none of their actions ever been reported?'
Some things can be ignored in the game for the plot, but reality should have been different. No matter how much the staff here were enslaved, a single one of them must have been dragging bodies down the stairs when the room connected to it wasn't hidden and right in the visible spot.
Gemini also wasn't a family that produced proficient mages; they wanted to destroy the Dexer in the same art of swords. Nor did they have any vassals under them that practised any sort of magic.
'They have either managed to hire someone, or that someone is using them, that didn't exist in the game.'
The two-kilometre range of the Hunter eye managed to catch a glimpse of light coming from a small tunnel. As he walked on, the telescope-like eyes managed to catch more than just lights.
The walls of that room were attached with bluish-coloured shiny metal, with a floating round light bulb hung over the wall by some rusted chains.
Except that, he couldn't see much because of the walls blocking his view.
Once he reached the entrance, he activated his Sense, but the place wasn't guarded with any type of magic system or barrier, just a magic circle on the left wall that had a large open area.
In addition to that, Levi started using Essence.
'I am the master of stealth.'
'I am the master of stealth.'
[User's presence decreased by 69%]
A lucky number, further making him a part of the room itself.
He popped his head first into the room and looked around.
Empty, nothing was in the room except some crates, with a yellow taped label saying "Beetroot" on them.
'That definitely isn't beetroot.'
Levi's Sense couldn't penetrate the box and wanted to open it, but hearing someone arriving from the left side of the room, he just stood at the corner of the room.

Soon, a tiny man, only about 4 feet tall, entered the room. He was wearing a blue netted cap, a full white body apron, and a face mask completely black, only making room for his eyes.
Though small, the man had a large body size, indicating he wasn't a human.
'Why is a dwarf here?'
Dwarves were common in Servania but not inside the human kingdom. It was rare to see them because they preferred their race, values, and culture, and didn't want to interact with humans and any other race unless it was for some business or if an extraordinary feat of engineering took place.
These nerds weren't just metal fanatics but loved automation as well.
Levi looked at the dwarf's status through his blue screen and saw a name he recognized but -
'I don't remember the game ever mentioning a dwarf working for these bastards.'
Levi could see the guy's name.
Opino, 120 years of age and an A-rank. Everything about this guy was normal except his profession, biologist.
Unlike other races, which would have a single profession, unless they were a prodigy, every dwarf ever born, for some reason, would always have mastered these two professions, one either a blacksmith or an engineer and a warrior.
Opino even in the game was an odd one, but he was never bullied for it. Instead, the dwarves were happy to see someone love something else than cogs.
He had only one single role, and that was when among the ten chosen heroes, five went to the dwarf kingdom, and Opino gave them a lot of good-quality potions for free if they completed his side quest.
To deliver a love letter to his crush, who threw him into a pit of snakes. He deserved it because he wanted the secret nectar of the dwarf chief's wife to make a "special" potion.
But doing so wasn't possible at all, so this was the only side quest in the game that couldn't be completed. Many at first found it funny but soon lost interest in the pervert dwarf, so they never tried completing his side quest.
However, Seiko was different; it took him more than a hundred times to complete it, but he completed it by taking some potions and creating a smooth, sticky mixture, with a little bit of honey added to it.
The perfect nectar.
Seiko was the first to do it, further adding to his achievement as the best in the game. And now as Levi, he had planned to do the same, but Opino had changed.
'Never had I imagined you being a majin.'
Levi could see the status "Majin" attached right beside Opino's name in his stats. A dwarf working with humans was already rare and even rarer seeing a dwarf working with the devil.
Opino walked to the box of crates and stacked five of them on top of his head, without grabbing onto the crates.
'His head must defy gravity.'
Levi thought as he followed the slow-walking Opino through a straight path that led to another room.
In front of them was a large, wide area, without any doors and gates. Levi could see one other person with his back turned to the wall, staring at it.
'Pink hair, black uniform, expensive jewellery attached to it, a glove on his right hand, and a missing left hand. Also, that sword is really tempting, if only I could get it.'
7 feet tall, an S-rank, and the head of the Geminifamously known as Orchid Overlord.
Marquess Hector Gemini, turned back as he watched Opino enter the room.
He and his eldest son looked exactly the same. Angel-like face and gentle pink eyes, except it was a lot more menacing, mainly because of the scar that ran from his neck to right under his right eye.
Opino felt the glaring stare of Hector as he put the box of crates on the corner of the room filled with even more crates.
"Is something wrong?"
Hector looked at the entrance.
"It looked like a stinky rat was behind you."
Levi, hiding behind the edge of the entrance, out of view, smelled his armpits.
'Stinky rat. I shower using the 5-in-1 body gel.'
Opino walked towards Hector and scuffed,
"A rat? Forget about a rat, not a single S-rank would get here easily."
And passed him a neatly folded piece of paper.
Hector opened the paper and smiled as he put the paper back into his pocket.
Levi would have loved to see what was written on it, but his eyes couldn't catch up to it, and going anywhere near them wasn't a good idea either.
He could fool an A-rank, but not a veteran S-rank. Even at this range, Hector
Hector stopped looking at the entrance, but Levi didn't walk inside. He just observed it, only his head sticking out from the edge.
The room had the same architecture as the room before and the path to get here, but just a lot bigger. The space was as large as the mansion above it but not that tall.
Also, there were more than 1000 crates stacked on top of each other, with a desk at the end of it, with some beakers and weird concoctions being boiled. The wall behind it was filled with sticky notes placed at every inch of the wall, but not above 4 feet.
Opino and Hector stood right at a magic circle large enough to fill three trucks on a straight line, but besides it was also a magic circle, just relatively smaller.
Levi knew that these magic circles would be used to summon a devil, not an ordinary one for Hector to combine with. For the title of Duke, he was ready to sacrifice his humanity.
'But why do they need the second magic circle? Who are they trying to combine the other devil with?'
The game never portrayed this room, and Levi knew that only one magic circle, properly made with the correct magical writing and necessary human sacrifices would be enough to summon that devil.
As he was thinking, Opino opened one of those crates and took out a plastic bag, filled with blood, labelled in a white tag as a donation.
He then started pouring the blood onto the circle, that into the magic circle. Instead of the blood ruining the magic circle, it started to evaporate, and steam started to rise out from it, bringing a smile to both Opino and Hector's faces.
"How long will it take now?"
Hector asked as he felt the sensation of victory rush over him.
Opino closed his eyes and thought.
"Around six months at a minimum. I still need some more materials to complete the circle. As for that circle."
He pointed at the smaller magic circle.
"I will finish it after the Dexers meet their end and you capture her."
'Her?'
Levi wondered who Opino was talking about.
Hector was satisfied and passed some small glass bottles, filled with clear white, sticky liquid. Opino took the bottles and smelled them even when the mask was blocking his nose.
'Wait… is that?'
Levi stared at the bottle and checked its stats.
[A mixture made from the saliva of wyvern, juice of aloe vera, and a mix of honey.]
Levi couldn't believe his eyes. It was the same ingredient he used to fool Opino in the game, and now Hector was using it.
'But how did he manage to do it?'
Levi did it from pure luck after trying to mix everything the game provided and trying again and again until he achieved "100% Complete" in the game's achievement bar.
'How is that now here?'
Levi doubted Hector or someone else stumbled upon it like him, luckily. If someone really made it, then why would Hector know about it, Hector definitely wouldn't spend his time making it.
As he stared at the bottle, Hector again felt something and this time didn't ignore it. Levi noticed it but it was too late to run, as the Marquess stood in front of him, towering him in height and power.
Though he didn't see Levi, he made direct eye contact with and took out the sword from the scabbard.
'Shit.'
