CHAPTER 7: Guilt Trip

CHAPTER 7: Guilt Trip

*Ring* *Ring* *Ring*

The theoretical classes ended when the bell sounded. After stopping the lesson, Fiona put her book away.

"Come to the training hall in 15 minutes after changing into your workout uniform."

Fiona departed the area. She gave Flynn and Harper a quick glance before gently tapping their heads with her book.

If you don't want to forfeit all of your merit points, don't be late again.

They both said "Yes" at the same moment and went to the dressing room, leaving Fiona at the door. The pupils exited one at a time. The last person to go was Levi.

"Stop"

Levi was about to pass Fiona when she spoke.

He avoided looking her in the eyes and instead cast a downward gaze. He shifted to indicate that he was uneasy.

"O-Ok."

Levi spoke modestly. His words nearly caused his voice to break. Fiona scowled as she observed Levi's assurance.

'How could someone be so pitiful?'

"Are you serious about your studies?"

Levi was questioned by Fiona as she tapped her foot in annoyance.

She was too impatient to waste her time with Levi's lackluster antics. Who exactly made her a teacher?

"Yes, Professor; I do take my studies seriously."

"So you'r lying now. How can you lie so blatantly? Do you really have no shame? Have you ever thought about how much your parents much have worked to pay for your academy fees."

Fiona did not hold back and kept on lecturing Levi. He on the other hand had no idea what she was talking about cause nor did he receive any memory of the past Levi after the transmigration nor did the game ever show a single thing about 'Levi'

He was now in a predicament.

'How should I respond?'

Cause if his answer displeased her then his academy life could take a turn.

"Professor, I think you have the wrong idea about me. I alw-always listen to your teachings and even make notes for it."

Fiona was now even more angry. How could Levi listen to her when he had his head down all the time during her classes.

"If you really listen well to my classes, then let me ask you a question.

What is the best way to gather mana into your body?"

This question was from the topic she had taught today. She was testing him and if he did not answer to her expectation then there would be some serious consequences.

Levi thought about his answers for a while and spoke.

" There is no "best" way to gather mana. Taking mana from air via breathing is the most natural and easy way to breathe. It is said that one who knows how to breathe in mana can increase their mana capacity 10x faster. However, taking mana from potions has its own benefit. It not only provides you with mana but also can rejuvenate your health in small amount and is the best way to gain immediate results, while mastering breathing mana is a for a long turn result."

Levi finished speaking. He said all of this without a single moment of pause.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Fiona could not believe her ears. He said the exact same thing she said at her lecture and even elaborated it even more. Not only that his voice carried a sense of confidence and charisma that Fiona thought Levi could never have.

' He only said the answer because I taught the topic just a few minutes ago.'

She then asked her some more questions from her past classes and Levi answered all of them. It was like a quiz and Levi was answering before Fiona could even finish asking.

Ten minutes had already passed. Fiona mouth was wide open. She was bamboozled. The worst student in her theory class turned out to be a secret genius.

"But you always slept in my classes? How did you even listen to all of this."

'Oh! so that was the reason she was furious.'

The past Levi did not sleep in the class but was trying to hide the bruises on his face from bullying. Even though he did not listen in classes, he would always make notes and last night after Seiko became Levi, he read all the notes incase something would happen and it did happen.

" I never slept in your classes, Professor. Its just that..... I am not good at making eye contacts and would often lower my head on the table to avoid it but I realized that was a rude behaviour so I tried to lift my head up today. I am trying to improve but if you feel annoyed by my presence than I am willing to change my class-"

"No need. Now go change and come to the training ground."

Fiona said and she hurried to her own room. As she was walking, she felt her chest tighten. Guilt had taken over her. After all she was a teacher and she had judged one of her students without knowing much about his condition.

'I should not have thought about him like that. Why am I quick to jump to conclusion?'

Levi walked to the changing room. He wanted to guilt trip Fiona and it did the trick. Just cause he did not know how to feel "guilty", it did not mean he was not capable of manipulating others to perceive it.

He did not go to the changing room. He was carrying his track suit so he went to the men's toilet and got changed after that he hurried back to his classroom and put his uniform in his back and again had to rush to the training ground.

Once he reached the training ground, he saw all of the students lined up in an horizontal line. Levi quickly joined the line at the end. The guys beside him moved away from Levi cause everyone in the class considered him a "freak".

Fiona then arrived and she looked at Levi. He too noticed her gaze and looked at the ground.

'He really can't make eye contact.'

She said to herself and started speaking.

"Today, I will not be teaching you anything new. Just train by yourself and I will come to you one by one and point out your mistakes."

All of the students moved and started training. Students who used melee weapons trained with each other or practised on wooden dolls, while the mages and archer practised at the shooting range.

Everybody was training except Levi. He did not bring any bows or arrow with him. Fiona was taking a glance noticed him just standing still.

'Does he have some other problems as well that I am not aware of ?'

The guilt tripping was really taking effect...but not the way Levi would have wanted.

Levi then scanned the whole ground and saw a weapon room. He walked over there and once he entered he saw hundreds of thousands of weapon. As a person who had completed the game multiple times, he had used ever weapon the game had to offer but now he had to focus on one thing. He looked at the price of the weapon and decided not destroy them. Each one of them cost more than 10,000 Dale and was higher amount than what Levi had in his savings.

The weapons were divided into sections and once he reached the bow section, he picked up a bow and some arrows.

After that he headed to the shooting range and saw students practising. The shooting range was really big. It could hold hundreds of students and the training mechanism was also fantastic

Each shooting range had some kind of mana technology built in it that would spawn a holographic humanoid . Once the bow hit the holograph, it would calculate the points based on where the target hit. The trainee could even move the holograph further and make them stronger just in theory to check, if the arrows or any attack would pierce through them.

He looked for any empty spot and found one but did not decide to go as Irene was training beside it.

'She might throw an arrow at my head this time.'

He again looked for a spot a found one, right at the back and started practising. He deliberately missed some targets and was not that focused otherwise his [Essence] would activate and make him suspicious.

He was hitting the legs and feet and only getting 3 points for each shot.

" Put some strength into your attack and focus."

Levi heard a voice behind him.

'Why is she here now?'

Fiona was behind him giving advices. Levi's plan was to make her feel guilty so she realized her mistakes and did not involve with him but instead it attracted her towards him.

Levi started acting shy and missed even more shots so Fiona would be annoyed and gave him even more instruction.

'This is not how it was supposed to go. Is my luck the problem?'

It was not that his luck was a problem. Fiona did not want to pay so much attention to him just because of her misconduct but for some reason, she was not able to take her eyes of him. She wanted to free herself from this emotion that is why she was paying this much heed to Levi.

Everyone in the looking at both of them. Fiona never used to pay this much attention to Levi and would only give him some instructions and then move on but today was exactly the opposite. She did not pay much attention to other students and was clearly focused on Levi.

Even Irene had to stop her training and look at Levi.

'Looks like the loser is finally getting some attention he craves for.'

She thought Levi was someone who chased attention after the incident at the library.

Now Levi had no choice but to do well. He fixed his posture, controlled his breathing, put some strength on the string and focused.

Levi ignored the messages and let go of the string.

"Swish"

The sound of the arrow flying was so perfect that every archer practising was in awe. There was no change in trajectory of the arrow. It was swiftly moving in a straight line and hit the holograph in the head. The then passed through the holograph and managed to pierce the back wall.

[ Ting

A holographic screen showed the score point and everyone at range was shocked. Not only was the shot perfect but it managed to do such amount of damage and the wall he pierced was not just any ordinary wall.

Irene and Fiona eyes were wide open. They could not believe their eyes. Irene had managed to get 110 points on a single shot but Levi's shot there was on a different level. She was in denial to think someone like Levi could do this much.

Fiona looked at Levi's back and wondered.

'Just what were you doing until now.'
