The Psychopath's Journey
CHAPTER 8: Shopping

CHAPTER 8: Shopping

After the practical classes ended, everyone changed their clothes and went to the cafeteria. All of the students, after their lunch break, had optional classes or club activities except for Levi. He did not take any optional classes nor was he a part of any club so he decided to go to his room.

Levi looked at his status window and noticed an improvement in his art.

[

==Arts==

Common Grade Style( F rank->75%)

]

His archer art had increased by 25% only by training for 30 minutes and without having much focus on it. The main reason it increased could be because it was an F-grade archer style.

Once he reached his room, he changed his clothes, took a shower, had a quick meal, and went outside the academy to prepare for the upcoming event.

*******

[At the academy cafeteria.]

"Why were you guys late? I would expect Flynn to come late but, not you harper."

The princess of the human kingdom, Rose said as she took a bite from her meal. Harper was embarrassed that he was late but angry at Flynn at the same time.

"This dude managed to spill his breakfast all over my clothes so, I had to dry it but then again he spilled a bucket of water on me so again I had to dry my clothes."

Harper said angrily as he looked at Flynn. Flynn avoided eye contact and kept eating.

Eliza who was also sharing the same table as them looked at Irene. She had not taken a single bite of her food and was lost in her thoughts.

" Irene is something wrong with the food?"

Eliza decided to ask her. Irene heard her but kept staring at the food. Her mind was not on the meal in front of her.

'How did he even make that shot?'

She could not believe her eyes. The person who she branded as a "loser" made such a shot that even she was impressed.

'He only made that shot once so it must have been a fluke....yeah it was just a fluke.'

She did not want to believe it cause it would mean that she had to acknowledge him and her ego would not let her acknowledge someone she did not like at all.

"Hey Irene, are you really fine?"

Eliza asked her again.

"Yeah. I am fine...just thinking about my shots during the training session."

Irene decided to lie. She was hesitant to acknowledge that she was contemplating that person who she considered a failure.

"But today's training session was kind of odd."

Eliza said as he kept earing.

"Why? Did you realize you gained weight again while swinging your sword?"

Flynn said mockingly and Eliza immediately smacked his head.

"I have NOT gained any weight and it does not concern you if I gain any so shut up before I kill you."

'So she did gain weight?'

Flynn thought to himself but did not dare to say it out loud. Eliza regained back her composure.

"No, it's just that Master did not spend much time trying to point out my mistakes this time and I even saw her skip some students and rush inside the shooting range."

Fiona took Eliza as her disciple six months ago. She used a sword as well so it was right for her to teach Eliza and Eliza could not say no to being the disciple of the youngest S-rank. Although Fiona did not discriminate between her students during their practical classes, she would always spend an extra minute or two with Eliza. However, today she did not, which bothered Eliza.

"She was training the loser this time."

Irene said in an instant and regretted it cause she did not want to say that out loud.

"Loser?"

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Harper questioned what he just heard.

" I meant the guy that sits at the back of the classroom."

Irene was quick to change the subject. Rose and Flynn thought about who sat at the back but they did not have a clue.....they had never paid Levi any attention. They probably did not know he even existed.

"Oh you mean the frea- I mean that guy, Levi."

Eliza said as she finished her meal. She thought about why her master decided to train him today.

'She must have taken pity on him. After all, he is pathetic.'

******

"Achoo."

Levi sneezed for the fifth time in a minute.

'Is someone talking behind my back or am I going to suffer from some kind of flu.'

He wondered as he was walking down the streets. Right now he was in the city of Hillca. Ascension Academy was inside this city. This city was built around the academy so there was a lot of security and many places that offered discounts to students.

Levi reached the shop he wanted to after 20 minutes of walking.

'It looks exactly like how it looked in the game.'

The shop name was simple.."Ye Olde Shoppe."

In the game, players used this shop to farm items in the early game. Players used this shop to buy cheap items Though it would not have the greatest of effects, the items were quite handy when someone was low on funds and Levi was.

He only had 7000 Dale in his savings. He brought only five thousand with him and left the other two in case he needed some sort of emergency.

As Levi stepped inside, a musty, earthy smell filled his nostrils, and the soft glow of candlelight illuminated the dimly lit space. The shelves were lined with all sorts of oddities - jars of preserved insects, ancient tomes, worn-out items, and mysterious trinkets from far-off lands. The shopkeeper, an elderly man with a kind smile, welcomed him warmly and invited me to browse his wares.

Levi noticed his status window and it was that it showed the status of items as well. He tried it on living beings but it did not work. This mechanic was in the game. The God wanted to give Levi some sort of cheat before reincarnating him and he decided to give him the power to appraise items only.

Levi kept looking through the items for thirty minutes straight but he did not find any items useful as most of them were worn out or were items donated by people who had no use for them.

After spending ten more minutes shopping, he decided to buy three items.

]

These items were not the best ones but would do the job for the upcoming event. The earrings cost him two thousand Dele, the wristband was fifteen hundred and he bought five smoke bombs each worth 500 Dele.

Levi smiled at the old man at the shop and thanked him for his service.

"Let's go to the forest now."

Levi walked for 20 minutes to reach a mob forest, which was distinct from a regular forest. Regular forests were home to natural animals and mana beasts, and hunting them was illegal due to their importance in the ecosystem. However, mob forests were comprised of creatures formed through mana condensation rather than reproduction.

Those beasts did not have any emotions with them and only had the desire to kill something in front of them. That is why the forest was guarded in case the mobs decided to go out and awakeners could go inside without any fee and hunt those monsters for their mana cores.

The forest Levi was headed to was called the "Beginner's Forest" as the area only had mobs of E rank making it easy for them to hunt.

Levi reached the entrance of the forest. There was a guard there and Levi definitely could not pass through from there. If he asked the guard to let him go inside then the guard at first would apprehend Levi, check his info, and call the academy.

Students could only enter the forest with permission from the academy, which was only granted to the strongest students. Levi did not have this permission. He knew there was a place from where he could get inside the forest.

The forest was surrounded by walls, but there was a secret underground compartment in the game that led to it. After fifteen minutes of vigorously tapping on the ground, Levi found it but now he had to open it. There was nobody around him so he decided to open it.

To open the ground one had to tap his feet to a certain rhythm. It was easy in the game and Levi knew how to do it but he knew it in theory, he was not sure if he could do it.

He started tapping his feet. It did not work for twenty minutes but because of his trait [Essence] took its effect and helped Levi move his feet like a tap dancer. If someone was watching him then, they would have considered him a professional tap dancer.

*Rumble* *Rumble* *Rumble*

The ground beneath him started to shake and he moved out of the way. The ground shifted and revealed a five-foot-deep hole.

Levi jumped into the hole and started walking. He was crouching otherwise he would not feet. After walking for five minutes, he reached a dead end and tapped the ceiling above him at the same rhythm he did before.

The ceiling also moved in the same way. Levi took out a handkerchief from his pocket and wrapped it around his face to hide his identity.

'I don't think anybody that knows me will be here at this time but there is no need to let others know that I was here.'

He jumped out of the hole and it closed itself. He took out the kitchen knife he bought as he could not carry a bow and quivers of arrows and just roamed around.

Levi climbed up a tree and activated his Hunter eye, expanding his vision to see 2 goblins hiding behind a tree.

'Time to get some mana stones to make me a roll.'

Goblin Slayer and Snoop Dog would be proud of Levi right now.
