Chapter 3-3: Defying Heaven

Chapter 3-3: Defying Heaven

As Moxie sprinted through the snow, he suddenly noticed that his body felt unusually light. He glanced to his side, realizing that Insanity was no longer with him. Stopping abruptly, he looked behind and saw Insanity leaping into the air, his eyes filled with a thirst for battle. In a single devastating swing, Insanity sliced through five nearby angels as if they were nothing. His movements were wild, unpredictable, yet terrifyingly precise.

Moxie’s eyes widened in surprise, but without hesitation, he dropped Liza to the ground. “Stay back!” he called to her as he turned and joined Insanity in the fight. He knew that their enemies’ weapons were no joke—one hit could easily put him in unbearable pain, but there was no turning back. Liza shouted after him, her voice filled with concern, but when she realized her pleas would fall on deaf ears, she sighed in frustration and readied her bow once again.

The battle became a blur of flashing steel and divine energy. Liza, staying back as instructed, expertly picked off angels from the sky, her arrows finding their marks one after another. Each shot was as precise as ever, but no matter how many she took down, more angels descended from the heavens. The sheer number of them seemed endless.

In the midst of their assault on the knights, a sudden shift in the air caught Moxie’s attention. He looked up just in time to see Michael, his sword raised, ready to unleash another devastating blow. Time seemed to slow as the group instinctively dodged, throwing themselves to the side to avoid the impending attack. The air around them crackled with divine energy as Michael’s sword cleaved through the air.

Liza, who had been positioned further back, watched in horror as Michael's strike came down. Her face paled as she saw the impossible—an entire mountain behind them, sliced clean in half as if it were made of paper. The sheer force of the swing was enough to make even the ground tremble.

"Be careful!" Liza screamed, her voice filled with fear. “Their attacks... they're too powerful!”

Moxie and Insanity exchanged a glance, both of them aware of the looming danger. This wasn’t just an ordinary fight. They were up against the might of Heaven, and one wrong move could mean the end. But despite the overwhelming odds, neither of them backed down.

With renewed determination, they braced themselves for whatever would come next. The battle had only just begun, and they knew that survival would require every ounce of strength they had.
